The Super Bowl is not just about the game. With big-budget ads and the highly anticipated halftime show, there’s plenty to enjoy beyond the football itself. Snacks play a key role in Super Bowl celebrations, and dips are a fan-favorite. Thanks to Google Trends, we now know which dips are most popular in each state for 2025's Super Bowl.
To gather this information, analysts examined dip-related search trends from January 21 to January 28, 2025. They focused on the dip terms most frequently searched alongside “Super Bowl,” identifying the dips that were most sought after for the big day. The resulting map shows the dips that stood out across various states, with “uniquely searched dips” being those that were searched twice as often in one state compared to the national average.
Buffalo chicken dip, which transforms the classic buffalo wings into a cheesy masterpiece, comes out on top. Thirteen states searched for it more than any other dip. It also claimed the number one spot on Coffeeness’s list of most popular Super Bowl foods, topping the charts in 29 states. Other popular choices include veggie-based dips like salsa and spinach artichoke dip, and cheese-heavy dips, which were searched in 10 states.
Some states have their own unique favorites. Texas stands out with its cranberry jalapeño dip, a sweet and spicy option that doesn’t appear elsewhere on the map. North Carolina, meanwhile, loves its burnt ends dip, a mix of smoked brisket, BBQ spices, cream cheese, sour cream, and brown sugar. For a larger view of the map, click here.

Following closely is the classic seven-layer dip, a Tex-Mex favorite made with refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, pico de gallo, olives, and salsa. This party dish is customizable, with each household adding their own twist. The third most popular dip is jalapeño popper dip, which combines cream cheese, cheddar, and jalapeños, with some variations adding bacon and bread crumbs for extra crunch.
For those looking to elevate their game day snacks, some NFL fans are opting for crab dip and whipped feta dip, which ranked fourth and ninth, respectively. The only dessert dip on the list is cannoli dip, a sweet treat made with ricotta, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and chocolate chips.
