1. Argumentative Essay 'In a barren land of dry stones, wildflowers still grow...' #4
The world around us is full of wonders. It teaches us valuable lessons, such as the phenomenon: 'In a barren land of dry stones, wildflowers still grow and bloom with radiant flowers.' This statement describes a natural occurrence that holds deep meanings, evoking beautiful thoughts.
The image of 'a barren land of dry stones' brings to mind harsh living conditions, full of challenges. In other words, it’s a place where life struggles to survive and thrive. When thinking of dry stones, we naturally associate them with death, withering, exhaustion, and decay. But even in such places, nature still finds a way to create beauty, bringing forth vibrant and flourishing wildflowers on stones. The image of 'wildflowers still growing and blooming with beautiful flowers' represents the resilience of the wildflower, quietly and steadfastly adapting to its environment, overcoming harsh conditions to thrive and showcase its beauty. This is a valuable lesson for humans: no matter how difficult or harsh the circumstances, even the smallest and loneliest individuals can rise above and create miracles, achieving success if they possess the will and determination to overcome.
In the scorching desert, cacti still grow, multiply, and even bloom. The barren, desolate land of dry stones, which seems devoid of life, is home to wildflowers—small, fragile plants that grow wildly without human care, yet they continue to flourish, full of vitality and strength, defying life’s challenges. This illustrates that even in the natural world, plants and flowers carry a powerful, enduring vitality, always ready to adapt to harsh living conditions. For humans, life is not always easy. In a constantly changing world, individuals must face hardships and challenges to forge their own path. No path is laid with red carpets or rose petals; rather, it’s filled with obstacles and traps. As we walk down these paths, we endure pain and humiliation. But in exchange for these hardships, a sweet reward awaits us at the end. This shows that no matter how harsh the circumstances, humans can overcome them and create miracles, achieving success.
As society continues to evolve, humans are presented with numerous challenges and tests. This is a time to test one’s determination. Those who adopt a positive outlook will not fear facing difficult circumstances, and no matter how harsh their environment may be, they will not easily be defeated. Since ancient times, our ancestors have passed down many lessons on perseverance, overcoming difficulties, and striving for glory. For example, President Ho Chi Minh, despite facing extreme challenges while seeking ways to save the country, living in foreign lands with harsh conditions, never gave up. He persisted in adapting to his circumstances and fulfilling the goals he set, becoming an inspiring figure in life and in the hearts of many. With a positive attitude, he faced hardships without fear. Even though he spent many years imprisoned, he always worked hard to achieve his objectives and remained committed to his ideals for the nation.
Similarly, 'Tech Knight' Nguyễn Công Hoàng, who lives under harsh circumstances—unable to move on his own, with limited speech—lived with determination. He learned and researched software, eventually succeeding. Teacher Nguyễn Ngọc Ký, despite being paralyzed in both hands, used his feet to write and stood in front of the class to inspire countless generations of Vietnamese students. These individuals, although they were pushed to the edge of life's toughest challenges, possessed an inner strength and determination that helped them rise above their difficulties. Today, they are not just 'wildflowers' in a 'barren land'; they are the brightest 'flowers,' full of life, on the ground they have created. Achieving success means recognizing our limitations and breaking through them. No one can help us except ourselves.
However, not everyone has the strength to rise from difficult situations. Many young people, lacking faith in themselves and the strength to overcome their circumstances, lose hope and descend into criminal paths. Lê Văn Luyện, a criminal who murdered without remorse at Ngọc Bích Jewelry store in a robbery, is a living example of someone who could not rise above poverty and turned to a life of crime with no way out.
As students, the younger generation of our country, we must diligently study and strive to overcome any challenges. We must always believe in ourselves, commit to our dreams, and never give up, even in the face of failure and difficulties.
Each of us must cultivate perseverance and resilience, overcoming all obstacles and challenges. We must not let difficulties extinguish our will and determination, as our nation has always said: 'Through perseverance, iron will become a needle.'

2. Argumentative Essay 'In a barren land of dry stones, wildflowers still grow...' #5
There are times when we stand amidst overwhelming difficulties, endless challenges, and feel like giving up, wanting to throw away all the burdens pressing heavily on our weary shoulders to ease our troubled hearts. But do you know, no matter how harsh life is, no matter how unfairly it treats you, I still firmly believe that fate never takes away anyone's chance to live. Perhaps, it is just a series of trials meant to strengthen our patience and determination, as well as invaluable life lessons bestowed upon us by nature, helping us build a solid foundation for future success. As someone once said, 'In the midst of a barren land of dry stones, wildflowers still rise and bloom beautifully' – a beautiful metaphor symbolizing the resilience of plants thriving in harsh conditions, so how could humans not be able to overcome greater challenges than those of the plants?
The image of 'a barren land of dry stones' represents a realistic depiction of harsh land conditions, where life as we know it seems impossible to flourish. It also evokes interesting thoughts about the journey of human life. Life grants each of us a limited time on earth, but under different circumstances—some are born into prosperous families with quality education, while others face poverty, hardship, and occasional heartache in love and relationships. Yet, fate does not always offer us good things, sometimes, it challenges us by giving us difficult circumstances. We may live in poverty, have tough jobs, or face painful experiences in love and family relationships.
It can be said that human life is a long journey. We first experience the warmth of our parents' care, then we venture into the tough and challenging mountainous terrain, where we must fend for ourselves. Eventually, we return to the coastal regions full of wind and sand, as poet Chính Hữu once wrote, 'My homeland is salty water and sour fields/ My village is poor with land plowed into stones.' Only by experiencing life's hardships can we grow and learn to stay calm in the face of life's challenges, as poet Hữu Thỉnh wrote, 'The thunder no longer surprises/The trees now stand strong.' This growth through hardship is invaluable, like the wildflowers growing in dry soil, symbolizing the resilience to overcome challenges and shine with a beauty that is earned through struggle. The quote reminds us that even in the toughest conditions, humans can still thrive with a steadfast will and determination, always striving for a brighter tomorrow.
Some of the most iconic examples of extraordinary resilience in nature can be found in the cactus, which thrives in the hot and barren deserts due to its unique adaptation with thick, water-storing stems and sharp spines that conserve water. Despite its prickly appearance, it blooms with beautiful flowers, just as nature's most delicate flowers do. The cactus has become a symbol of powerful and extraordinary resilience. Another example is the stoneflower, which grows in the harshest, driest regions of Africa. Its unusual appearance, like stones, contrasts with its bright, golden flowers that shine as brightly as the sun, proving the plant’s hidden strength and miraculous ability to survive. If such plants can survive and thrive, humans surely can overcome even more challenges.
One of the first examples that come to mind is the genius German composer Beethoven, known for his iconic symphonies, including 'Fate,' 'Country Life,' 'Joy,' as well as famous piano pieces like 'Für Elise,' and romantic sonatas such as 'Moonlight Sonata,' 'Spring,' and 'Morning.' Yet who would believe that this world-renowned composer, an inspiration to music lovers worldwide, was deaf and could not hear any sound? However, his love for music, coupled with his indomitable will and gift for composition, allowed him to become one of the brightest stars of the 18th century and beyond. Another example is British physicist Stephen William Hawking, who suffered from a rare neurological disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease, which left him nearly paralyzed. His condition worsened, requiring him to have his trachea removed. As a result, he lost his ability to communicate normally and relied on a wheelchair and a speech-generating device. Despite this, he never gave up his passion for physics. His extraordinary perseverance earned him the title 'The King of Theoretical Physics,' making the world stand in awe, while also becoming a professor of mathematics at the prestigious University of Cambridge.
Another well-known figure, particularly in Vietnam in recent years, is teacher Nguyễn Ngọc Ký. When he was a child, he contracted a severe illness that left him paralyzed, losing the use of both hands. At that moment, his academic journey seemed to have ended, but this extraordinary young boy used his feet to open the door to learning once again. Writing with his feet and attending school was incredibly difficult, but he never gave up. He became one of the top students, even receiving a prestigious badge from President Hồ Chí Minh. Despite his illness, Nguyễn Ngọc Ký continued studying, later passing the entrance exams for the University of Hanoi's Faculty of Literature and becoming a teacher. He also developed innovative teaching methods that earned him great admiration from students. Former Prime Minister Phạm Văn Đồng praised him, saying, 'Teacher Nguyễn Ngọc Ký represents extraordinary perseverance and is a shining example for today's youth, especially those with disabilities.' In 1992, he was honored with the title of 'Outstanding Teacher.'
From these examples, we can see that everyone faces their own struggles in life, and it is only through perseverance and determination that we can achieve great outcomes. The individuals I mentioned had to put in many times the effort and resilience to overcome fate and become brilliant diamonds, despite their flaws. So, we have no excuse for being lazy or not striving, because compared to these great people, any excuse for weakness or lack of progress in life is simply an excuse. Life does not work on the principle of 'waiting for the fruit to fall,' and there is no such thing as success without effort. Those who rely on luck or the help of others prove that they lack talent and the will to live.
Remember, everyone carries their own pain and struggles in life. The difference lies in how they choose to express it or quietly persevere, pushing themselves to overcome everything. As students, our family circumstances may differ, but we should not compare ourselves to others. Instead, we should give our best effort. If you are poor, you must work even harder than others. If you are not quick in learning, then you must study tirelessly, even more than others, to make up for that shortcoming. If your home is far from school, you must wake up earlier than others, go to school earlier than others to avoid being late. These are all efforts, and resilience in life, though small, each of us must recognize and act upon. Because if we are weak, lacking in determination, and patience, life will never offer us the sweet fruits we seek.
In conclusion, the saying 'In the midst of a barren land of dry stones, wildflowers still rise and bloom beautifully' is a beautiful metaphor for human life, urging us to persevere and strive forward no matter how harsh the conditions are. Just like the wildflower, though fragile in body, it rises with strength and determination, blooming beautifully and brightly despite the tough obstacles it faces.

3. Essay "Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom..." #6
People cannot choose the circumstances of their birth, but they can choose the life they will lead. As the saying goes, 'Humans are born not to be dictated by fate, but from the moment of birth, they carry within them the seeds of resistance.' This is why, despite the hardships and struggles, humans always persevere, much like the saying: 'Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom and blossom into beautiful flowers.'
The literal meaning of this saying suggests that amidst a harsh, barren land, wildflowers still grow and blossom into vibrant flowers, with their fragrances and colors mesmerizing the beholder. In this metaphor, the dry, desolate land represents a place where living conditions are tough and resources are scarce, where plants are not given the chance to fully flourish. Yet, there is something within that enables wildflowers to endure and bloom beautifully, regardless of the harsh conditions.
This saying also symbolizes that even in difficult circumstances, where there is little opportunity for development, individuals—much like wildflowers—can still rise above adversity. The wildflower here represents the poor and the underprivileged, individuals who grow up without proper care or resources. Despite their tough environment, they manage to survive and bloom in their own way, defying the odds.
Furthermore, the saying is a tribute to the human spirit. It reminds us that despite being born into challenging situations, one can still fight through these struggles and rise above them. Everyone has the power to change their fate, as evidenced by the fact that people are not bound by destiny. Even if born into difficult circumstances, a person has the power to shape their own future.
Historically, Vietnam has often been considered a poor and underdeveloped country, yet it is honored as a resilient and courageous nation. The people here have always strived to overcome every obstacle in their lives, battling fate to achieve prosperity and success.
We can see many talents in society, and most of them come from poor backgrounds. They were born into impoverished families with limited access to education, but they continue to persevere every day to become valuable members of society.
For example, President Ho Chi Minh himself came from a poor rural background in Nghe An, ventured north to find a path to free the nation, and became a hero who tirelessly fought for the welfare of his people. Despite numerous hardships and challenges, he remained determined to overcome them. These people have become shining examples, ideals for the Vietnamese people to follow.
Amidst these barren lands, where it seems impossible to thrive, people grow and flourish, developing into individuals who contribute positively to society. This saying serves as a call to action, urging individuals to live meaningfully and always strive for greatness, even in the most difficult of environments.
The saying also carries a message of encouragement. When facing hardships, humans will find ways to persist, to endure, and to overcome the challenges of life. It serves as a guiding principle, a roadmap that encourages us to always strive for excellence and to become useful citizens for society.
We must all remain resilient and determined in life, regardless of the poverty or adversity we face. We must rise above our circumstances to become responsible citizens, the foundation of our nation, the seeds of our country's future. Every day, we should strive to learn, improve ourselves, and work hard to achieve our dreams, plans, and aspirations for the future.

4. Essay "Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom..." #7
Amidst a desolate rocky land, wildflowers still grow and blossom into beautiful clusters of flowers. This image evokes a sense of solitude, isolation, and even torment, yet the tiny flower remains strong and unwavering. It defies all odds with its tiny but resilient force, like a small bird fluttering through a storm, seeking its nest, and ultimately triumphing.
It triumphs over all the hardships and struggles, becoming a beautiful flower that radiates vitality. It rises above the dry, barren rocks and the scorching sun, becoming a bright spot in the harsh, hot desert landscape. It is truly a miracle of nature, one of the many wonders of life, like a fairy tale. Moreover, it serves as one of the simplest yet profound lessons life offers us.
In life, we all face moments of defeat in the face of difficulties and challenges. They loom over us like a massive dark cloud, obscuring the rays of hope, draining our energy, and causing us to lose our will to fight, to give up. And this is when we confront ourselves; it is a moment where decisions made will determine the rest of our lives. Courage, strength, and determination are all brought to the forefront during these times.
Miraculously, some people become stronger and more resilient when faced with challenges. Even if they fail, they push themselves to the limit, knowing that giving up means losing everything. The effort they've put into learning, the time, and money they've invested would vanish like the dark cloud looming above. They have been gifted with a special strength, a gift from God that not everyone possesses: resilience. With this gift, they turn shame and bitterness into sharp weapons that no earthly force can compare to. They overcome the obstacles and dispel the dark clouds. The light returns, and while their hearts may be scarred and torn, they become stronger and more sacred than ever before. They realize that no matter how beautiful the path may seem, it always comes with thorns, pain, and tears...
"No path is covered with roses,
Even the feet feel the pain of thorns,
The path to glory goes through countless storms,
And the promise etched in the heart,
Still walking proudly, head held high..."
(from the song “The Road to Glory”)
But life is not just full of beautiful moments. Alongside this, there are those who are weak and cowardly, ready to abandon their dreams. They are willing to discard all their ambitions and live a meaningless, monotonous, and even ruined life. They are like a lonely shadow wandering aimlessly in a vibrant, dynamic world. They avoid life, and when they grow old, they will certainly regret the wasted years, the life they didn't truly live. They will regret having accepted the fate of becoming a withered, faded flower, offering nothing to the world.
Yes, we will overcome all obstacles and hardships. Even if the road to success is filled with thorns, it remains the road to glory and achievement. As a famous saying goes, “On this road, there are no footprints of the lazy.” The body may be worn and weary, but within us, there remains a seed – the seed of desire and ambition – which will sprout, blossom, and become a beautiful wildflower, giving us the strength to overcome the steep hills and reach the shores of our dreams. Pain, humiliation, and tears will disappear when we reach the end of the road and touch the pinnacle of glory. The sun will shine, and the rays of victory will crown us, and we will hold our heads high, proud of the battles we've fought, the moments of weakness we've overcome, and the burdens we've carried. The wildflowers that have endured the harshness of nature will bloom and..."
"That day, that day is not far away,
And we are the victors,
The road to glory is no longer far."
Life continues, and new challenges will arise, but we must continue to fight with determination. Let us live and struggle so that when we are exhausted, we won’t regret the wasted days of youth. The hardships will become immortal triumphs in the hearts of every individual. For the wildflower may wither, and we too will not live forever, but the footprints we've left on the path of life, the successes we've achieved, will brighten the tapestry of life, just as the wildflowers have brought life to the barren rocks.

5. Essay "Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom..." #8
Life is not always a walk through a path paved with roses. Yet, thanks to willpower and determination, every person knows how to overcome obstacles. This is similar to the meaningful saying: "Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom and blossom beautifully."
Perhaps the most miraculous thing in life is the Creator's hands. It has made possible wonderful things that seem impossible. In a desolate land full of rocks, where life appears nonexistent, a wildflower still thrives. It stretches to welcome the sun, seeking life deep within the earth. Not only does it rise strong, but it also blossoms with beautiful flowers, formed from the finest essence, making them strikingly gorgeous. This flower is much like a cactus growing in the harsh desert. By day, only the sun and sand prevail, and by night, the cold and frost dominate. Yet, the cactus remains full of life, blooming with stunning flowers.
This image symbolizes human beings. Our lives are not always paved with smooth paths. Sometimes, life forces us to face challenges and difficulties. People, much like the wildflower, have the strength to overcome adversities. Surely, no one is unfamiliar with the late U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, a shining example of self-reliance and perseverance. Lincoln came from a poor family. Both of his parents were uneducated farmers. Lincoln's life was filled with both failures and successes. However, after each failure, he regained his spirit and used it as motivation to try again. Today, Abraham Lincoln is considered a prominent political figure, alongside the legendary founding father, George Washington.
Similarly, in Vietnam, many are familiar with Mạc Đĩnh Chi, one of the most famous scholars in history, known for his spirit of perseverance in academics. As a child, Mạc Đĩnh Chi was intelligent and quick-witted, but he came from a poor family and appeared unattractive. While other children had the opportunity to attend school, Mạc Đĩnh Chi had to gather firewood to make a living. Despite the hardships, he was passionate about learning, and after collecting firewood, he would stand outside the door of a scholar’s class and listen to the lessons. The scholar, noticing his eagerness, invited him to join the class. Mạc Đĩnh Chi was overjoyed. During the day, he gathered firewood, and at night, he studied. With no oil lamp to study by, he used fireflies trapped in eggshells as a light source. Without paper, he wrote on leaves. It was his relentless effort and determination that led him to pass the imperial exams and become the Trạng Nguyên, the top scholar. Not only did he become the Trạng Nguyên of Đại Việt, but he was also honored as the "Lưỡng quốc Trạng Nguyên" (Top Scholar of both China and Đại Việt) when he visited China during the Yuan Dynasty. However, there are also those who lack determination, who desire a life of ease but refuse to make efforts, falling into destructive paths such as gambling, drugs, prostitution, theft, and even murder.
From this, we should all strive to live optimistically and be ready to face challenges without fear of difficulties. Having willpower and resilience also requires support from family and friends. As for me, I am a senior student facing an important exam ahead, but I am not scared. I am confident that I can overcome it. In the end, I will reap the beautiful flower of passing the high school I have always dreamed of.
Let each of us be like that "wildflower," strong and determined to rise above the "barren rocky land." If we can overcome all adversities in life, we will surely harvest success and happiness in the end.

6. Essay "Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom..." #9
When faced with difficulties, humans always need willpower and perseverance. This is akin to the flower in the saying: "Amidst a barren, rocky land, wildflowers still rise and bloom beautifully."
Perhaps the most miraculous thing in life is the Creator’s hands. It has crafted extraordinary things that seem impossible. In a barren land full of stones, seemingly devoid of life, a wildflower still exists. The flower stretches to absorb the sunlight, seeking life deep in the soil. Not only does it rise with strength, but it also blooms into stunning flowers—beautiful, radiant, and formed from the finest essence. This flower is like a cactus in the harsh desert. By day, only sun and sand exist; by night, the cold and frost prevail. Yet, the cactus still flourishes, blooming with breathtaking flowers.
This image symbolizes humanity. Life is not always a smooth, easy path. Sometimes, life forces us to face challenges and hardships. Like the wildflower, humans possess the perseverance to rise above life's difficulties. In today’s society, there are many examples of perseverance that we can look up to. One such story is that of teacher Nguyễn Ngọc Ký, whose story is likely familiar to many. In his early years, Nguyễn Ngọc Ký was a healthy child, but at the age of four, a sudden illness left him paralyzed, making it impossible for him to hold a pen. His ability to continue his education seemed lost, causing him deep sadness.
However, realizing the importance of education in changing one’s life, Nguyễn Ngọc Ký decided to practice writing with his feet. He eventually became an exemplary teacher. Nguyễn Ngọc Ký shared, "Writing with my feet was very difficult, frustrating, and often made me want to give up because I couldn’t hold the pen firmly. Gradually, I calmed myself and learned to write letters, draw rulers, rotate compasses, and even create birdcages and toys to play with." Another inspiring figure is Đoàn Phạm Khiêm, who compiled a dictionary for hearing and visually impaired students. Few people know that at the age of one, he suffered a severe fever, causing him to lose the ability to walk, hear, and speak.
His future seemed bleak, but he didn’t give up. He began to learn the sign language of the disabled. After many years, he became one of five people selected to contribute to the "Vietnamese Sign Language Dictionary" project, designed to teach the deaf and mute across the country. These stories illustrate how people with disabilities had to put in double the effort to overcome adversities and achieve success. On the other hand, many individuals today lead meaningless lives, wishing for a life of ease but lacking the effort to pursue it, resulting in their moral decline. This is indeed a sad reality in modern society.
From these stories, we should always strive to live optimistically, ready to face challenges without fear of hardships. To possess willpower and perseverance, we also need the support of our families and friends. As for me, I am a senior student, facing a critical exam ahead. I am not afraid, for I am confident I can overcome it. I give my 200% effort to improve my knowledge. I believe that I can be a "beautiful flower," achieving sweet success at the end. Just as the late composer Trần Lập’s song "Đường đến ngày vinh quang" (The Road to Glory) expresses:
"No path is paved with roses,
Even the feet are sore from the thorns,
The road to glory goes through countless storms,
The promise remains in my heart,
And still, I walk with my head held high..."
So, even through further difficulties, let each of us live like that wildflower, strong and resilient.

7. Essay "Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom..." #10
As society progresses and modern life becomes more civilized, every individual enjoys a comfortable existence surrounded by convenience. However, there are still those who live in harsh conditions, lacking both material and emotional support—situations that make it easy for people to give up and let fate take its course. Yet, there are still those who, despite facing adversity, refuse to surrender and instead strive to rise above their circumstances, building a path to success. Just like how wildflowers bloom in barren, rocky soil.
The image of barren land with rocks might symbolize the harsh realities each of us faces, while the wildflowers blooming represent those who overcome themselves. And such examples are not rare. Take Nick Vujici, a renowned speaker and author. Born with a disability, Nick has no arms or legs, and when his parents first saw him, they were nearly devastated by their newborn’s appearance. Yet, he grew up and matured just like any other child. He overcame his fate and lived a remarkable life, inspiring millions of young people with a positive attitude and determination to achieve their dreams.
He once shared, "As a young boy trying to adapt to my disabilities, I was mistaken in thinking that no one in the world suffered like I did and that my difficulties were too enormous to overcome. I believed that my physical shortcomings were proof that the Creator did not love me, and that my life had no purpose. I also felt that I couldn’t share my burdens – not even with those who always loved and cared for me. I was wrong. I was not alone in my struggles and pain."
Indeed, there are many others who have faced even greater challenges than I have. I am as incomplete as anyone you might meet in life. I have happy days, bad days. The challenges of life sometimes bring me to my knees. However, I know that when we put our faith in action, nothing can stop us from reaching a better life." Or consider "Information Technology Knight" Nguyễn Công Hoàng, who had to live in a difficult situation: unable to move independently and with limited language ability. Yet, this young man lived with perseverance, determined to study and develop software. Ultimately, he succeeded. Or consider those close to us who, despite coming from poor backgrounds, strive to study well and fulfill their responsibilities as children, working hard to build a better future and repay their parents...
Life is never smooth; it is always full of surprises and unforeseen events. Therefore, it is our perspective and attitude toward life that matter. We should not surrender to our circumstances or give in to fate. Even in the "harshest" environments, real people still rise. It is in the challenges of life that human strength and resilience are most clearly revealed. But it is not only those living in difficult circumstances who need to strive. Each of us must set goals for ourselves. We should not fall into despair when life presents difficulties, nor should we give up and fail.
This situation may elicit sympathy, but it should not be condoned. While circumstances play an important role, human effort is even more crucial. Imagine if Nick Vujici had grown up in an environment that discouraged him, instead of thriving and becoming a blossoming flower—what would his life be like today? Others, despite having favorable living conditions, fail to make an effort, becoming complacent and wasting time, money, and the love of their families. Such waste is reprehensible. Remember that all the comforts we enjoy are due to our parents, not something we earned ourselves. Each of us should set a goal and a dream to strive for, to contribute to the world around us.
"A small spring season,
Quietly offered to life,
Even when you're twenty,
Or when your hair is gray..."
(Small Spring Season – Thanh Hải)
Humans are truly unfortunate when faced with ironic life circumstances, but even more so when we stop trying. Just like that wildflower whose roots dig deep into the dry, rocky soil, searching for even a small amount of water to survive and bloom beautifully.

8. Essay "Amidst a barren rocky land, wildflowers still bloom..." #1
The hands of creation are truly remarkable. They bring forth so many wonders, some so unexpected they take us by surprise. When we think of dry, barren rocks, our instinctive thought is of death, witheredness, and decay. However, even in such places, creation finds a way to bring forth beauty, giving rise to vibrant, radiant flowers that stand tall with life and pride, blooming from the stones.
In the scorching desert, where life seems impossible, cacti flourish, growing and even blooming. The dry, desolate stone lands, once thought to hold no life, are home to tiny, fragile wildflowers. Without human care, these flowers still thrive, full of life, resilient, constantly reaching for the sun, defiantly embracing life itself. The inevitable reward for their unceasing effort is the stunning beauty of their blossoms. After enduring countless trials—sun, wind, and the constant search for life in a place that seemed devoid of it—these flowers stand as a testament to strength and endurance. Nature is never cruel; it does not abandon its children. Instead, it teaches them how to live, helps them face hardship, and allows them to experience the beauty and wonders of life, achieving sweet success in the end.
This, too, serves as a valuable lesson for humans. We are born with unique abilities and an infinite strength to overcome life's storms. Humans are the most perfect creation of nature. In this ever-changing world, we must strive to walk the path we choose. No road is without its obstacles and pitfalls, and no one achieves success without suffering. I am reminded of the song:
"No road is paved with roses,
But every step is painful from the thorns,
The path to glory is filled with storms,
The promise is engraved in the heart,
And still, we walk, head held high…"
(The Road to Glory)
Indeed, even the most beautiful paths come with their share of pain. "Failure is the mother of success," what matters is willpower and perseverance. One cannot give up simply because the road is tough. If we abandon our dreams due to hardship, success will always elude us. There is no easy way in a world full of countless paths. There is a story about two young girls who loved theater. One grew up in a traditional family, with a famous director father and a renowned actress mother. She was trained from a young age, her acting skills impeccable, and soon she earned the title of a genius. Yet, she constantly struggled with the weight of her fame, always overshadowed by her mother’s legacy. She worked tirelessly to prove herself, wishing to break free from her mother’s immense shadow. She envied a poor orphaned girl, whose father had passed away, and whose mother died from lung disease just as the girl was rising to fame.
Everything collapsed when her mother died, and she lost the courage to stand on stage. She lost everything. Yet, deep in her heart, her passion for theater never died. Despite lacking formal training in dance, singing, or ballet, she gave everything she had to her performances. She would lose herself in her role, not remembering who she was, and follow her instincts. This allowed her to overcome all challenges, becoming the star she had always dreamed of. Through immense hardship, betrayal, and sabotage, she never gave up. While Ayumi had a seemingly easier road, thanks to her famous background, her path was not without difficulties. Maya, on the other hand, had a natural gift for art, but her life was filled with struggles. No matter how beautiful a road may appear, it always contains suffering.
Is there really such a thing as a smooth road? If such a road existed, would reaching glory still have meaning? Glory, after all, is the result of effort, sacrifice, sweat, tears, and sometimes blood. Glory is not merely the outcome, but the journey itself.
Some people are born less fortunate, afflicted with birth defects or accidents that leave them physically incomplete. Yet, it is their perseverance that helps them rise above adversity and achieve something extraordinary. Take, for example, Nguyen Thi Nga, who stands at only 1.29 meters tall but possesses an immense strength that led her to study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Ho Chi Minh City. Or a friend of hers who, though deaf and mute, managed to open a souvenir shop to support herself. Then there’s Nguyen Thi Lan, a 61-year-old woman with paralysis, who still manages to support herself and care for her elderly mother. They are the embodiments of resilience, shining examples for all of us to admire and learn from.
But alongside such people, there are others who, despite living in a world of abundance and care, fail to bloom. They wither and die without ever realizing their potential. These people are weak, cowardly, and lack determination and vision for their future. It is a tragic waste of the opportunities they have been given.
Nature, in all its beauty, is constantly surprising us. It’s not only the product of life and the essence of the earth, but also a reflection of the lessons we can learn from life itself. We often admire the beauty of nature without truly reflecting on its deeper meaning, the lessons hidden beneath the surface. Life is beautiful, and nature is a mirror of it. We can learn so much from it if we look beyond the surface.
The image of a small wildflower, standing alone amidst the dry stones and scorching sun, with its vibrant blossoms, stirs something deep within us. If a tiny, delicate flower can survive and bloom in such harsh conditions, why can’t we, as humans—the greatest creation of nature—do the same? Indeed, we must do better. We must rise above our fate, confront adversity head-on, and "hold our heads high," defying all hardships. Only then will life smile upon us, rewarding us with what we truly deserve. The road ahead is vast and full of exciting possibilities…

9. Essay "Even in a barren land of stones, wildflowers still bloom..." number 2
When faced with challenges in life, I often recall the saying: 'Even in a barren land of stones, wildflowers bloom and produce beautiful clusters of flowers to remind me to keep striving.'
Life can sometimes be truly miraculous. And the vitality of both humanity and nature is incredibly strong. Do you think so? A stony land is poor in nutrients, full of stones, and it's a place where plants find it difficult to germinate and grow. On a broader scale, it's a harsh and difficult environment, where humans struggle to grow and mature. Yet, the image of wildflowers blooming beautifully in such a place symbolizes vitality, a longing to live meaningfully: in the dry, stony land, the fragile wildflower not only strives to preserve life but also blooms, adorning life with its beauty. This vivid saying conveys a deep message, expressing an optimistic life philosophy: In life, people need to have faith and perseverance to overcome challenges. Only then can life truly have meaning.
Without perseverance or willpower, human life would lose its meaning. Life is not always about encountering good fortune; sometimes, we also experience bitterness and pain, and it’s essential to have the will to rise above these. There are even times when we feel trapped, unable to find a way out, but love and belief in life will help us overcome everything. And after those difficult times, people will find themselves growing stronger, more mature, and more resilient. Conversely, if a person cannot overcome their difficulties once, they may not be able to do so the next time, and thus their life becomes a journey of failure.
The writer Nguyễn Khải once said: 'Life arises from death, happiness is shaped through hardship and sacrifice. There is no dead-end in life, only boundaries. What matters is whether one has the strength to overcome those boundaries.' Between success and failure, sometimes it's only a thin line. One’s willpower and effort will enable them to overcome difficulties and challenges. I still remember the time in the 9th grade when I scored a 2 in Math. I was deeply disappointed because the exam was extremely difficult (my class was a Math-specialized one). When I got home, I carefully put the test paper away in my drawer, intending to forget about it, thinking that not getting bad grades meant I wasn’t a student. But every time I went to bed, the image of that 2 haunted me. I decided to revisit the test and understand how to solve the problems that had kept me up at night. After a few days, I found the solution and methods to tackle similar problems. From then on, I developed a deeper love for Math, for numbers. By the end of that year, I passed the entrance exam for the Math specialization of my province. As you can see, it is only through willpower and belief that we can overcome life’s difficulties. In fact, tough circumstances only strengthen a person’s determination and perseverance.
I once read M. Gorky’s *Childhood* and shed tears on many pages because of the hardships Gorky endured in his youth. Yet, in Gorky’s heart, there was a burning desire to learn (he once ruined his landlord’s kettle because he was so absorbed in reading), and he threw himself into the university of life, both to make a living and to gather life experience. Who would have thought that the poor boy would later become one of Russia’s greatest writers, a harbinger of the revolutionary era? I also read *The Prison Diary* to further admire and respect the spirit of the prisoner Hồ Chí Minh. Perhaps in *The Prison Diary*, I most love the opening verses of the collection:
'My body is in prison,
My spirit is free from it,
If I am to achieve something great,
My spirit must rise above all.'
From his years of wandering in search of a path to save the nation, through his revolutionary activities, Uncle Ho affirmed:
'The rice brings pain when it’s milled,
But once milled, it turns white like cotton.'
'Life is like that, too,'
Hardship sharpens us, leading to success.'
In life, there are many examples of perseverance. When I was twelve, I met my teacher Nguyễn Ngọc Kí. Back then, I was amazed and impressed by how a person without the use of their hands could still write beautifully and compose poetry. And I realized that it was the love of life and extraordinary perseverance that helped him overcome personal hardship to become a useful person to society. To this day, my admiration for him remains just as strong. Or take the blind guitarist Văn Vượng, who has won numerous music awards both nationally and internationally. He faced many moments of pain and despair, but his perseverance and love for music helped him reach out to others and the world. You see, willpower and perseverance sometimes enable people to overcome their hidden barriers within themselves to live a truly meaningful life.
Everyone's life path is not filled only with roses but with many obstacles. One must cultivate willpower and perseverance to overcome hardships and challenges. Without these, none of us can achieve anything for ourselves or for society. It is in difficult circumstances that we discover the tremendous inner strength we possess. Every time I look at a wildflower or a cactus blooming, I ask myself: What strength allows these plants to survive and thrive in such a harsh environment? Every person should constantly train their character and perseverance to endure and overcome personal hardships, conquer fate, and reach the peak of glory. Only through facing hardships can we fully appreciate their value and love life even more. Sometimes, you may try your best but still not achieve the desired results. At that moment, don’t think of it as failure, because in reality, you have won—winning over yourself is the greatest victory in life.
Someone once said: 'One lives only once, so live life to the fullest.' Strive to make every day of your life meaningful.

10. Argumentative Essay "Even in a barren land of stones, wildflowers still bloom..." No. 3
Our ancestors often say, “Heaven gives the elephant, heaven gives the grass.” Life never completely closes off the path for anyone. The phenomenon of wildflowers growing and blooming beautifully in a barren, rocky land may seem ordinary and often unnoticed, but it carries a profound meaning that we must reflect upon to truly understand.
Nature is incredibly diverse and mysterious; some plants flourish on fertile, rich soils, while others, like the wildflowers, thrive in dry, rocky terrains. Yet, despite the lack of nourishment, we find vibrant blooms on these bare, struggling branches. This shows that they possess a remarkable, admirable vitality.
From these wildflowers, we can draw a parallel to human life. In the multifaceted society we live in, there are many people with different fates. Among them are those who resemble these wildflowers. Life does not bless them with a beautiful, peaceful existence like others. Their lives are as harsh as the environment these plants endure. Yet, despite this, they rise above, triumph over their circumstances, and present us with beautiful results, just as wildflowers adorn nature with their vibrant colors.
If you pay attention, you’ll notice that most wildflowers possess a unique, pure, and simple beauty. As a woman not endowed with a beauty that could capture a romantic love, my mother had to settle for marrying my father, a man who could not bring happiness to our family. On the contrary, his destructive behavior caused my mother’s hard-earned money to disappear. After many years of hardship, realizing she could no longer continue in this dark life, my mother left with nothing but a basket on her shoulders, carrying my brother and me. She started over with empty hands. My childhood consisted of waiting for my mother until late in the evening, listening to the sound of her bamboo hat clattering against the handlebars of her bicycle. Now, thanks to my mother, our lives are no longer as difficult. She is a person my brother and I deeply revere, for no matter how life treated her, she remained brave and strong, ensuring we were fed and educated. To me, my mother is the most beautiful flower, even if it’s a “wildflower.”
Although I grew up without my father’s love, I never felt the lack of affection. Once, my teacher sent home a notice for a parent-teacher meeting, and perhaps unaware, the invitation was addressed to my father. The teacher didn’t know that although my father was alive, I had not had him since I was five months old. Some of my close friends worried I’d feel sad, but I didn’t. I still loved life. I’ve never felt inferior for not having a father. I don’t dwell on the absence of my father, as my heart remains full of love from my mother and others.
On a music show broadcasted on FM radio, I heard the words of a young man, possibly from grade 12 or university. He was suffering from an incurable disease, cancer. Yet his words were full of life, full of energy. The remaining days of his life were spent fighting to get up, eating porridge cooked by his mother, smiling for her despite tears on his cheeks. Those days were his way of demonstrating resilience, sharing a bond of love and strength with his younger brother. His life, though short, bloomed with beauty like a flower in the harshest of circumstances, a young man in his prime.
I have a friend with a similar situation, without a father. We went to school together in middle school. If not for difficult circumstances, he might have been a part of our class in grade 11. However, now he works as a factory laborer in distant Binh Duong. Feeling homesick, he wrote to me. After inquiring about my studies, he expressed his longing to experience the fatigue of going to school like we did. But then he realized that his reality required him to work to support his mother and younger siblings so they could have a better life. I admire him deeply. He is a beautiful wildflower among many others.
There are countless wildflowers in life that I have not yet mentioned, and perhaps I don’t even know them all. But I encourage you to observe and discover them. You will be the one to witness their beauty, a beauty that we all need to learn from and reflect upon—whether our own willpower in life is enough to blossom like a beautiful flower.
Yet, in reality, some wildflowers fail to bloom beautifully. These are the people who lack the willpower and determination to rise above their circumstances, who blame their fate and wilt in self-pity. They fail to see that everything around them continues to thrive, and others live beautifully despite hardships. Just look at the thieves, the bullies, the hired criminals, and the wrongdoers. Many of them come from tough backgrounds, perhaps orphans or abandoned by their families, and end up corrupting themselves. We know that they were once innocent and kind, perhaps more deserving of sympathy than blame. But if they had the will to rise and embraced the right lessons in life, they would not have been shunned by society or denied their rights by the law.
If one has the will, anything is possible. A person’s fate lies in their own hands. Life’s circumstances are like sunlight: they strengthen healthy skin while hurting weak skin. Similarly, the harsh nature for a wildflower proves its resilience and hidden beauty.
