1. Poem: THANH MINH - Hong Vu
THANH MINH
Poem by Hong Vu
The summer sun turns the skies golden
Yet the house feels empty, without mother, and father sits alone.
Memories flood, and the heart forever aches
During Qingming, father returns to where mother lies
A sky full of distant dreams
Green grass, white flowers, the wind softly hums
Mother rests peacefully in eternal sleep
Father finds solace in the fleeting world of mortals
Life is but a brief moment, yet full of care
For a thousand years, we remain close, side by side.
With a smile, all sorrow fades away
Father is never alone, surrounded by children and grandchildren.
Father, our steadfast support
A tall tree, its shade ever protecting.
The wind moves the mountains and rivers
Carrying the fragrance of mother, back to father.

2. Poem: THANH MINH - Hồ Viết Bình
THANH MINH
By Hồ Viết Bình
The shadow of the past lingers around
Leaving the temporary world for the next
During Qingming, descendants visit
Rest easy, and let your soul sleep in peace
The drifting clouds shield from sun and rain
The wind whispers a sweet melody
The sacred waterfall blesses the world
With righteousness, peace, and a fulfilled life.

3. Poem: THANH MINH VISITS FATHER - Trương Túy Anh
THANH MINH VISITS FATHER
By Trương Túy Anh
The child stands in awe, gazing at the ocean waves
Wondering where Father’s journey has taken him?
For decades now, the ship has been lost
Struck by enemies, deep beneath the sea
The clear waters have turned a darker hue
As it mingles with the red blood of Father and his comrades
In a dream, the child sees the waves crashing
As anger swells... and an explosion shatters the calm
Father’s comrades are heroes
They will forever live on with the land and people
The child vows to follow Father’s steadfast path
Building a prosperous future for Vietnam
During the Qingming, the child sails with ships
Lighting incense, offering immortal flowers
Bowing deeply to pray for Father’s peace
Returning to the ancestors in the heavenly realm

4. Poem: LAST NIGHT I DREAMT - Trần Thanh Nhàn
LAST NIGHT I DREAMT
By Trần Thanh Nhàn
Mother, last night I dreamt
That she returned from a distant land
In March, during the Qingming season
I went to her grave, bringing a bunch of white flowers
The grass was so green!
She rested peacefully in eternal slumber
From afar, the sound of a dove cooing
Blended with the mist, soft and ethereal...
The lunar March brought rain that didn't soak through my coat
But enough to wet the edge of my eyes!
Since the day she departed
The longing and love haven't ceased
Mother still sits awake through the late hours
She says nothing
Only her heart, wet with sorrow...
Mother could never have known
That the green leaf would fall before the yellow one on the tree
The earthly realm is but a fleeting place
So, mother, rest easy with the fate that binds you to her!
Her grave lies on a high hill where the wind howls
She followed the call of our ancestors
The space around her vast and endless
The faint aroma of incense fills the air....

5. Poem: QINGMING CEREMONY - Phạm Quang Thu
QINGMING CEREMONY
By Phạm Quang Thu
I return to honor the Qingming ceremony
Returning as though the spirit itself called me back
The grave of Father rests by the dike
The wild mustard flowers stir deep sorrow within me
Father, the thunder rumbles from the source
Father, through rain, sun, and the pale moon
I call for you, but where are you?
You have gone far, and the entire family grieves, Father
The incense I offer for you
The green grass I cover to warm your spirit
Father, forever in the realm of the divine
Today, the sunlight rests on your golden grave!

6. Poem: QINGMING REMINDS ME OF KIỀU - Nguyễn Đình Cường
QINGMING REMINDS ME OF KIỀU
By Nguyễn Đình Cường
"Qingming in the third month"
Tố Như clearly pointed out the distant path "the long journey"
Pity the fate of the girl with rosy cheeks
The beauty and talent of Kiều had to endure countless suffering
Even if "three hundred" years pass
The pain of the human world still makes the tears flow
Nguyễn Du tells the story with every word
"...Tân Thanh" opens the way - for a thousand generations... Kiều's Tragedy!

8. Poem: THANH MINH - Nguyễn Đình Hưng
THANH MINH
Poem by: Nguyễn Đình Hưng
Spring has already passed halfway through
The drizzle, the damp air now makes way for dry, crisp winds
The clouds clear, the sky grows serene and high
Every home eagerly steps into Thanh Minh
Honoring ancestors' spirits with respect
Lighting incense, tidying graves, offering love from grandchildren
The aching longing slowly fades away
The realms of life and death draw closer, binding hearts firmly
The family gathers, laughter fills the air
Spring flowers still bloom, life is ever-refreshing
Oh, do not hesitate
Thanh Minh is here, remember to return to your roots.

9. Poem: INSPIRATION ON THE DAY OF THANH MINH - Hương Mrs -Lê
INSPIRATION ON THE DAY OF THANH MINH
Poem by Hương Mrs -Lê
I return to my hometown in the season of Thanh Minh
The spring is fresh, soaked with affection on the green grass
I light incense for those who have passed
The smoke rises, bringing back familiar faces
This Thanh Minh, it is just me alone
Lighting incense for the ancestors in place of you
Though far away, I know you still remember
You still bow your head on the day of our parents' memorial
Come home, my love, to our city
The beauty of Tràng An remains vibrant and fresh
Here, someone is waiting for you
The moonlight sneaks through the distance, quietly shining...

10. Poem
LET THE WIND CARRY MY WORDS
Đinh Thị Hiển
On the first of March, during Thanh Minh
It is the day to honor the ancestors
May the spirits of the ancestors be at peace
In the land of Buddha, free from worries and pain
In the past, our parents prayed for us
For obedient children and wise grandchildren, to ease their hearts
Now, I have become a grandmother
May my parents' hearts be at rest, as I sail smoothly
Today, I know the family longs for me
But I cannot return... I can only watch from afar
Though far away, I send my words with the wind
For I am distant, living in a foreign land
Grandparents and parents, oh! How I miss you!
I offer this incense with sincerity
May you accept my humble heart
Grandparents and parents, may you find joy and peace... I rejoice
