3. I Am Eri
The initial title for I Am Eri was "Working as a Prostitute Abroad," and just that title conveys the essence of the story the author wants to tell through this autobiography.
I Am Eri tells the life of a prostitute over 40 years, enduring all the storms life has thrown at her simply because she made the wrong choice, a profession that completely transformed her. In Thailand, prostitution is seen as a legal profession, but no matter the legality, it doesn't change the harsh reality that people become commodities, their bodies for sale, and money becomes everything.
I Am Eri recounts the various people and stories the author encountered on her journey of selling her body. Some were kind, some ruthless. There were moments of heaven, and others where she was trampled in the depths of hell, always ending up empty-handed. Oddly enough, despite everything, the story is told in a calm tone, as if the author is narrating someone else's life. Yet, this very calm tone and the sometimes awkwardly naive writing style evoke deep feelings of regret and haunting images, even as the final pages close with the sorrow of a mother too ashamed to meet her child, despite her struggles to escape the life she once led.

4. Through the Veil
The protagonist of Through the Veil is Kawashima Masayuki, a man who lives in a modest apartment in the suburbs. He works at a design office in the city center, has a beautiful wife, and a newborn child. On the surface, his life seems perfect. However, there are moments when he experiences strange sensations, as if "the nerves in his eyes, nose, and ears are merging, and sparks of light like fireworks flicker before his eyes." At these times, he feels overwhelmed by the "burning smell of animal fat" and loses control over himself. In these moments, a terrifying thought haunts him: the possibility that he might one day harm his beloved daughter. To escape this fear, he resolves to hurt another woman. This leads to a strange encounter between a man with murderous intent and a woman planning to commit suicide—a psychological novel that keeps the reader on edge from start to finish.
... A sharp stone hammer, a voice persistently urging Kawashima Masayuki, the cold winter night, a painful emotional wound, and an unrelenting haunting fear all follow the two main characters. The story demands a profound empathy for children who suffer abuse within their own families. The odd encounter between a man with murderous intentions and a woman contemplating suicide unfolds a perfect balance, an ironic yet humorous contrast between the man’s unintentional mother and the shameful father of the suicidal woman.
"For a long time, I have wanted to write a story about the meeting of a man with murderous intent and a woman contemplating suicide—a psychological novel that grips the reader with suspense from the very first page until the last. ... This is the first time I have seen my characters treated with such respect, and I believe from now on, I will learn to approach writing novels with a deeper perspective."

6. Vy's Island
The story follows a young woman’s solitary journey through Vietnam, Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Tibet, with the singular purpose of truly discovering herself.
Each trip becomes a return to her inner self, a recognition of who she is and her connection to the world, making the destinations along the way irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
Feelings of love and loneliness are universal, no matter where you are. The act of traveling, in a way, becomes a process of seeing yourself in everything and everything in yourself.
Thus, the journey is not just about physical places but also a mental adventure.
The author's personal journey also reflects a trip through memories. Memories filled with deep and unfinished emotions, particularly related to her father. Certain moments cut sharply like a knife, leaving lasting scars. There are moments of transition from one identity to another, signaling the end of one life cycle. Moments of falling in love and bidding farewell. From these moments, one can hear the resonating sound of the inner self through the pages of the book. Vy's Island is also a search for self in love. 'Love is a lifelong lesson,' so this journey has no final destination. Love, in essence, is but an illusion. In love, one must choose between safety or freedom; both cannot coexist. 'What we love is merely the idea of love itself.' Some wounds require sacrifice. But love remains a quiet longing of the soul, searching for a place to settle. Yet, the soul wanders endlessly, always uneasy. Finding peace is both simple and incredibly elusive.
The philosophy of love and life intertwines delicately throughout these brief notes. The book, therefore, carries a seductive charm. A charm similar to that of the journeys and loves it describes. In a bittersweet, deep melancholy, the most beautiful path is the one that helps us find ourselves. From a peaceful heart, even a sigh tinged with sadness sparkles like a slanting ray of sunlight and refreshes like the first raindrop of the season...

7. Bao Dai, or the Last Days of the Kingdom of Annam
The portrait of Bao Dai painted by historian Daniel Grandclément aligns with the common image of him: charming, sophisticated, stylish, a skilled hunter, driver, and pilot, as well as a proficient dancer, golfer, and tennis player...
However, he was simply not suited to be a king. From beginning to end, readers will find themselves frustrated, astonished, and bitterly disappointed as they watch the King of Vietnam, in his quest for luxury, even resorting to tricks just to obtain material pleasures like a car, an airplane, a hunting rifle, and a leather-bound album.
As Bao Dai himself admitted: “The French always wanted me to stay in one place, not interact with the people. During my twenty years as king, I only went north once, south once, and each time, it was just a brief visit, never seeing anything clearly. They surrounded me with secret police. I was deeply saddened knowing I couldn’t do anything beneficial for the country...” His words, spoken after his abdication, reveal his awareness of the loss of independence and freedom.
Later on, we follow Bao Dai as he negotiates with the French to expand his autonomy with each round of talks. He naively believed that ‘independence within the framework of the French Union’ could be easily achieved with material gains. Accustomed to luxury and being pampered, Bao Dai never considered the path to true independence that kings like Ham Nghi and Duy Tan had taken before him. He rejected the opportunities presented to him by President Ho Chi Minh... Rejecting the chance to walk alongside the entire nation, even though he had once sat at the table with the fledgling republican government to discuss matters both large and small during the birth of the state.
The path that Bao Dai chose ultimately led to his end, which the author of the book describes as “the king swept away like a speck of dust, insignificant…” His greatest act was abdicating, and he entered history with a single phrase: “I would rather be a citizen of a free country than a king of a slave state.”

After enduring numerous hardships, Yorda is transformed into a stone statue by the queen, whose soul possesses her body. To save her, Ico must find a magical sword to slay the dark creatures. 9. The Great Path to Heaven
In a journey of a hundred miles, one may take the life of another, but even ten steps seem too far to walk.
I am the sword itself.
In a journey of a hundred miles, one may take the life of another, but even ten steps seem too much to take.
In a journey of a hundred miles, I may take a life, but I cannot take another step.

10. Epic Campaign [The Great Dream of the Mountain, Sea, and Universe]
The 'Great Dream of the Mountain and Sea' is an ambitious project by the Dongyuan Film Company (based in Shenzhen) launched in June 2019. The goal of the project is to preserve and promote Chinese cultural traditions. This project is based on the famous Chinese mythological text, 'The Classic of Mountains and Seas,' and incorporates the essence of both Eastern and Western cultures (such as the rules of Dungeon & Dragons, etc.), with the ambition to create a vast fantasy universe (similar to Marvel and DC). Hence, the name 'Great Dream' – a big dream.
The project’s initial scope includes a historical system spanning thousands of years and seven major races, all derived from the Chinese mythical elements found in 'The Classic of Mountains and Seas.' It is continuously expanding in content. The development of this content is not fully known, but it seems that press conferences have been organized to promote the project and attract writers to participate in scriptwriting. If the quality meets the standard, the work may be adapted.
