1. Lemongrass Grilled Pork
Lemongrass-marinated grilled pork offers a fragrant, slightly spicy, and sweet flavor that will create an unforgettable experience for those who try it. Not only is it delicious, but the preparation of the marinated pork is also very simple.
Ingredients:
- 0.5 kg of pork belly
- Garlic, onion
- Ginger, lemongrass, chili
- Ground pepper
- Seasonings: fish sauce, sugar, cooking oil, soy sauce
- Fresh herbs
Instructions:
- Step 1: Prepare the ingredients: Start by cleaning the garlic, onion, lemongrass, chili, and ginger. Crush and finely chop them, then mix them together. The finer you chop, the more flavorful the marinade will be. Clean the herbs and remove any damaged leaves to make the dish more visually appealing. Clean the pork, and depending on preference, you can leave the skin on or remove it. It’s recommended to remove the skin to keep the meat tender. You can either grill the whole piece or slice it for grilling. If grilling a whole piece, choose leaner pork for best results. Grilling a whole piece helps retain the pork's sweet and tender flavor. If slicing, cut the pork into about 0.7 mm thick pieces for a more flavorful and spiced taste.
- Step 2: Marinate the pork: Place the pork in a large bowl, and add the seasonings in the following ratio: 4 tablespoons of cooking oil, 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, ½ tablespoon of ground pepper, and the prepared ingredients. Wear gloves and mix the pork with the seasonings, gently massaging to ensure the flavors penetrate the meat. Be careful not to press too hard to avoid tearing the meat. If grilling a whole piece, use your hands or a brush to evenly coat the pork.
- Step 3: Grill the pork: Marinate the pork for 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the quantity. Once the pork is well-marinated, place it in the oven and wait for it to cook. If you don’t have an oven, you can grill it directly on a stove or grill pan. Be sure to flip the meat regularly to prevent burning.
The process of making lemongrass grilled pork is quite simple, right? The delicious, sweet, spicy pork combined with the aromatic seasonings will make it irresistible. Enjoy the pork with fresh herbs to balance the flavor!
