At the 2022 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, SsangYong unveiled the Musso pickup truck, designed specifically for the European market. However, the SsangYong Musso is essentially a rebranded version of the Rexton Sports previously launched in South Korea. This model is a collaboration between SsangYong and Daimler-Benz.
The SsangYong Musso features a sleek and stylish front end with refined details. The upgraded fog lights, headlights, and LED lighting give the truck a bold and appealing appearance. Many customers were captivated by the truck’s striking look right from the first glance. The HID headlights are accompanied by LED DRLs, and the grille has been slightly tweaked with a prominent horizontal bar that holds SsangYong’s signature logo. The Musso shares its chassis with the Rexton SUV, giving it a similar front-end and body style. The rear of the Musso has been redesigned to accommodate the pickup truck’s cargo bed. The truck’s door design is particularly unique, featuring a protective panel that covers the door seam to prevent dirt from sticking when getting in or out. The Musso comes standard with tough interior coatings, a 12V/120W socket, and tie-down hooks. With a length of 5 meters, the Musso offers more space than previous models, and its cabin is the largest in its class. The cargo bed measures over 1,300mm in length, 1,570mm in width, and 570mm in depth, surpassing older generations. The Musso is made from ultra-durable 1.5Gpa steel and 79.2% high-strength steel.
Inside, the Musso’s cabin is based on the Rexton model, offering more comfort and luxury than other pickup trucks in its segment. The spacious legroom in both the front and rear seats, along with Nappa leather upholstery, gives the interior a refined and comfortable feel. In Vietnam, the SsangYong Musso is available in one version, priced at approximately 1.662 billion VND (on-road).

2. Ineos Grenadier
Ineos Grenadier is a British vehicle that bears a striking resemblance to its compatriot, the Land Rover Defender. It is a rugged model designed to tackle the toughest terrains, yet still offers comfort and convenience.
According to the manufacturer, the Ineos Grenadier will be available in two configurations: 2-seater or 5-seater. The 2-seater version offers a cargo space of up to 2,088 liters, can tow 3,500 kg, and comes with a winch capacity of 5,500 kg. For the 5-seater version, the cargo space is reduced to 1,152 liters. The vehicle is equipped with either 17 or 18-inch wheels, paired with specialized Bridgestone All-Terrain or BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires for off-road capabilities. It measures 4,927 mm in length (with a rear-mounted spare tire), 1,930 mm in width, and 2,033 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,922 mm. The interior of the Ineos Grenadier is designed with a minimalist approach to optimize space. The control panel features stylish rotary knobs, and the air vents have a classic design. It is equipped with a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, an i-Drive rotary knob, and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Under the hood, the Grenadier offers two engine options: a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine and a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, both sourced from BMW. The diesel version delivers 246 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque, while the petrol version offers 282 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Ineos also plans to introduce a hydrogen fuel cell version in the future and has heavily invested in this technology.
Ineos Grenadier truly deserves its place in the top 5, with impressive upgrades in both exterior and interior. Its robust design, combined with powerful engine options, makes it highly regarded by experts. The 2022 Ineos Grenadier will be available for purchase in the domestic market, with prices starting from £49,000 (approximately 1.39 billion VND).

3. Volkswagen Amarok
Volkswagen Amarok is a highly successful pickup truck from the German automaker. Launched in 2010, it has now entered its second generation with numerous upgrades. The new Amarok is built on the Ford T6 platform, which is also used for the Ranger, Everest, and Bronco models. The Amarok is available in five versions: Amarok, Life, Style, PanAmericana, and Aventura. The PanAmericana version is designed for off-road capability, while the Aventura variant focuses on comfort and luxury features.
To differentiate it from the Ford Ranger, the designers of the Volkswagen Amarok introduced an X-shaped front bumper, a larger grille, and Matrix LED headlights. The vehicle's overall length and wheelbase are 5,350 mm and 3,270 mm, respectively, making it longer than the previous generation by 96 mm and 173 mm. Its water fording depth has been increased from 500 mm to 800 mm. These changes provide a more spacious interior and enhance its off-road performance. Volkswagen offers several wheel options for the Amarok, ranging from 17-inch standard wheels to 21-inch wheels for premium versions. The Amarok can tow up to 3,500 kg and has a payload capacity of 1,160 kg. The truck bed is reinforced to support loads of up to 350 kg. The interior features a revolutionized design, including a 10 or 12-inch central touchscreen running Ford's SYNC 4 system. The dashboard is upgraded with digital technology, with an 8-inch display on base versions and an optional 12-inch display for higher trims. Depending on the market, the Amarok comes with either a 2.0L 4-cylinder or 3.0L V6 diesel engine. The most powerful engine is the Ford EcoBoost 2.3L, producing 302 horsepower. The new Amarok features a 10-speed automatic transmission, replacing the previous 8-speed version, with the option of a 5- or 6-speed manual transmission.
Volkswagen Amarok 2022 was launched in September 2022 at the Silverton factory in Pretoria, South Africa. The price of the 2022 Volkswagen Amarok starts at $45,890 in Australia, but the price in Vietnam could increase by 2-3 times due to additional costs such as special consumption tax and import taxes.

4. Jeep Gladiator
Jeep Gladiator is a midsize pickup truck from the American brand Jeep, sharing its platform with the 4th generation Jeep Wrangler. It is officially sold in Vietnam, standing out in the local pickup segment for its luxury, power, and significantly higher price compared to its competitors.
The exterior of this American pickup is rugged and captivating, borrowing design elements from the off-road SUV Wrangler. The Gladiator 2022 is the only pickup that offers both a hardtop and a soft-top, with a windshield that can be folded down and removable doors – all features inherited from the Wrangler SUV. The Gladiator has a length of 5,181 mm, almost 800 mm longer than the Jeep Wrangler SUV, and a wheelbase of 3,480 mm. It boasts a ground clearance of 282 mm, an approach angle of 43.6 degrees, and a departure angle of 26 degrees. Its impressive water fording depth is 762 mm. The truck features a hood with air intake vents typically found on high-performance diesel vehicles. The Gladiator Mojave variant is equipped with high-performance FOX 2.5-inch shock absorbers with hydraulic bump stops to maximize handling. The truck is also fitted with massive 33-inch tires. The rear of the Gladiator, along with the truck bed, is exceptionally robust, with rear lights that are reminiscent of the SUV version. Among the variants, the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon is specifically designed for off-road use. Popular among off-road enthusiasts, the Rubicon version comes with a reinforced truck bed, FOX shocks, 33-inch Falken mud-terrain tires, and steel front/rear bumpers.
The price of the Jeep Gladiator 2022 in Vietnam is available in two versions: the Jeep Gladiator Sport and Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, with base prices ranging from 3.766 to 4.046 billion VND.

5. Ford F-150 Lightning
The Ford F-150 Lightning is the all-electric version of the legendary Ford F-150 pickup, officially launched in May 2022. It marks the first electric pickup from the American brand. Built on the 14th generation of the Ford F-150, which debuted at the end of 2020, the F-150 Lightning retains the iconic F-150 frame but with several key adjustments to reflect its electric nature.
As an electric vehicle, the F-150 Lightning features a sealed grille with a distinctive design, replacing the traditional grille of a combustion engine. The front headlights consist of vertical matrix LEDs, complemented by a U-shaped LED light strip running across the front, encircling the headlights. The front bumper has a robust, aggressive design. The truck comes with standard 18-inch alloy wheels, with a 22-inch option on the Platinum model. The rear LED taillights are connected by a slim LED strip, mirroring the front design. The side of the truck is marked with the 'Lightning' badge, highlighting the electric version among the regular F-150 models. Inside, the F-150 Lightning features a large 15.5-inch vertical infotainment screen, powered by Ford’s latest SYNC4A system, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The steering wheel is a three-spoke leather-wrapped design with numerous integrated controls. Behind the wheel, there's a 12-inch digital display with customizable settings. The truck offers various conveniences, such as rain-sensing wipers, leather seats, heated/cooled front seats, smart start, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. From the Lariat trim onward, it includes BlueCruise, Ford’s semi-autonomous driving technology. The top-tier Platinum model offers premium Nirvana leather seats with Tuxedo black accents, a 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and a smartphone as a replacement for the traditional key.
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is available in four versions: Pro, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum, with prices starting at $39,974 (approximately 909 million VND) for the Pro version with 18-inch wheels.

6. Ford F-150 Raptor
Ford F-150 Raptor 2022 is part of the 14th generation of the iconic Ford F-Series from the United States. The 2022 F-150 Raptor brings groundbreaking technological advancements alongside impressive off-road performance. In the U.S., two versions of the Ford F-150 Raptor 2022 are available, with the F-150 Raptor R positioned to compete against the Ram 1500 TRX, while the regular Raptor faces rivals such as the Ram 1500 and Jeep Gladiator.
The first Ford F-150 Raptor 2022 arrived in Vietnam on March 2, 2022, imported by a private company. Ford states that the F-150 Raptor’s design is inspired by the U.S. military’s F-22 Raptor fighter jet. The grille has been redesigned with the Ford logo prominently in the center, flanked by three small position lights above. The grille can open and close to improve aerodynamics. The massive new headlights extend the height of the grille and reach into the vehicle’s sides. The F-150 Raptor 2022 has an overall length of 5908 mm, width of 2200 mm, and height of 2027 mm, with a wheelbase of 3683 mm and a ground clearance of 304 mm. Ford offers a two-tone exterior paint option for customers. The new high-strength steel frame is reinforced in key areas to optimize off-road performance. The rear suspension features a completely new 5-point leaf spring system, improving road grip and handling. The rear bumper is black and made from steel for added durability, with the exhaust pipe positioned higher. The compact rear taillights and optional Rigid off-road lights enhance the vehicle’s rugged appearance.
The incredible Ford F-150 Raptor 2022 is being sold in Vietnam by an importer for approximately 5.6 billion VND. In the U.S., the base price starts at $68,675 (around 1.57 billion VND), with additional options available for customization.

Ford has relied on its experienced engineers, who specialize in truck design, to create a pickup that meets the needs of customers worldwide. The 2022 Ford Ranger is designed with reliability for business, family life, and adventure. The most noticeable change in the 2022 model is its resemblance to the new F-150, with a square front design and larger headlights featuring a C-shaped LED running light. The grille has been expanded, with an added horizontal metal bar for emphasis. The hood and front bumper have a more muscular design, with two tow hooks below the front bumper to give the Ranger a more rugged look.
At the rear, the taillights are also designed in a stylized C-shape, vertically placed on either side. The cargo bed has been redesigned with an embossed logo and added metal rails along the edges to help secure items. A new feature is the side step located next to the rear wheel well, making it easier for users to access the cargo bed. Additionally, the bed's width has been increased by 50 mm, and it now features a new molded plastic lining. Ford introduces three versions of the 2022 Ranger: XLT, Sport, and Wildtrak, although the Raptor model has not yet been released. The Wildtrak version stands out with its black honeycomb grille, LED matrix headlights, dark alloy wheels, off-road tires, and roof rails. The interior of the 2022 Ford Ranger boasts a modern design with a flat dashboard, a large vertical touchscreen, and updated air vents. The center console has been redesigned, and the steering wheel is now a 3-spoke style. The high-end models feature an electronic gear shifter and a digital speedometer. Ford also offers a 10.1-inch or 12-inch center screen, equipped with the latest SYNC4 infotainment system. The 2022 Ford Ranger is a futuristic, modern vehicle with numerous improvements, making it a worthy contender for the second spot in our rankings. In Vietnam, the 2022 Ford Ranger is available in six variants, with a base price starting at 728 million VND.

Compared to the All New D-Max 2021, the 2022 D-Max introduces the Hi-Lander 4×2 AT version, which is equipped with enhanced safety features, premium leather upholstery, and a luxurious exterior similar to the Type Z 4×4 AT version.
The 2022 Isuzu D-Max is available in Vietnam in four versions, priced between 640-870 million VND. With the added upgrades and new variants, the price of the D-Max 2022-2023 models in Vietnam has seen a significant increase, ranging from 10 to 30 million VND, depending on the version.
