1. Mr. Pumpkin and Mr. Gourd
Mr. Pumpkin, Mr. Gourd
Hanging high on the vine
Looking down at the pond
Fish and shrimp swimming by
Mr. Gourd ponders,
"What if I cooked with Shrimp?
Prepare a tasty soup,
Refreshing and cooling!"
Mr. Pumpkin disagrees,
"Pumpkin and shrimp,
Everyone knows that’s common,
But I’ll let you have it,
Let’s cook with fish and gourd!
It’ll taste good and be healthy too."
A grasshopper perks up:
“Pumpkin, gourd, shrimp and fish,
Every dish is fragrant,
They all taste equally delicious!”

2. My Banana Tree
Behind my house
Stands an old banana tree
It’s just begun to bloom
But new shoots have already sprouted
Oh banana tree, oh banana tree!
Why are you so unique?
The banana tree whispers softly:
"I may be old now
But my offspring has grown,
That’s the new green shoot
Preserving my legacy."
(Đoàn Lê Bích Phượng)

3. My Mango Tree
My mango tree stands by the gate
The cheerful songs of birds fill the air
In summer, it provides shade from the sun
In October, it dresses in flowers
The mango tree loves my grandmother dearly
This year, it’s blooming abundantly
As spring arrives, the fruits are heavy
And when the mangoes ripen, I’ll give them to her.

4. The Children's Garden
In the children’s garden, there are many green trees
This is the jackfruit tree, and here’s the fragrant breadfruit
The coconut tree stretches its hair, casting reflections in the pond
The little ones play happily up high
Look, the starfruit tree drops its purple flowers all around
The little children dance and sway
In the children’s garden, there are many green trees
This is the orange tree, and here’s the sweet-scented tangerine
Here’s the bright red gac fruit tree
For Grandma to make sticky rice on Saturdays
This is the children's garden, where every tree is well-behaved
Flowers bloom and fruits ripen with a fragrant aroma.

5. The Gourd Trellis
Behind my house
The gourd trellis is lush and green
The round fruits hang straight and firm
While others curve and twist
Mom picks the gourds, fresh and ripe
And cooks a delicious soup with shrimp
The dish is served on the round table
The whole family gathers together
And enjoys the meal with joy.

6. The Clock Flower
There is a flower
That sleeps more than it wakes
When the sun rises high
The flower slowly opens its eyes
At ten o’clock, it blooms
Its fragrance wafts everywhere
The petals shimmer in the sun
Red as the sun itself
It has no hands, no tick
Yet it resembles a clock
When it blooms, the child calls
“Mom! It’s ten o’clock!”
Right on time, the flower blooms
This is the clock flower.

7. The Coconut Tree
The coconut tree spreads its many fronds
It stretches its arms to catch the breeze and calls to the moon
The trunk grows silver through the years
The coconuts, like little piglets, rest high above
On summer nights, the flowers bloom alongside the stars
The fronds—like a comb—brush the blue sky
Who brings the sweet water, the refreshing drink?
Who wears jars of coconut wine around its neck?
The coconut tree soothes the midday sun
It calls the winds to dance, rustling with joy
The sky is clear with the sound of the breeze
A flock of storks flaps in rhythmic motion
Standing watch over the vast earth and sky
The coconut tree leisurely stands as if at play.

8. The Climbing Vine
The climbing vine
So tiny and small
Inside the house
It crawls out
Through the window
And stretches its neck
Reaching for the sky
Asking why
The plant replies
“To be outside
To breathe better
To bathe in sunlight
And soak in the rain
That's how I grow taller
And bloom more beautifully.”

9. The Mustard Garden
The wind rises, and the mustard garden flourishes
The leaves are as green as bits of drifting clouds
I go to fetch water from the pond
Every afternoon, I water, tend, and watch over them
This morning, butterflies flutter around
It turns out the mustard has blossomed with bright yellow flowers
Little Giang sees it and smiles wide
She wrinkles her nose, showing ten teeth...

10. The Pineapple
The crown atop its head like a king's crown
Its body wears armor
It gazes at the mountains and hills
With hundreds of watchful eyes
Its roots sift through stones and sand
Blooming like a sunburst
The earth nourishes it with sweetness
That lingers on the lips
In the North, it's called Pineapple
In the South, it's called Fragrant
One name, one fruit
It carries a thousand kisses...
