1. Bac Ninh, My Hometown
A peaceful village, calm and serene
Bac Ninh's landscape, poetic and green
A humble house, simple and small
Ripples on the lake, with green reeds by the wall
Fruits heavy on the branches, ripe and full
The kites soar in the wind, drifting cool
Birds sing sweetly throughout the year
Amidst the children's laughter, so near the moon's light clear
Night comes, gazing at the moon's glow
The hammock sways, where dreams freely flow
The fields scent the rice as it ripens in sight
The small path lined with flowers, a lovely delight.

2. The Fate of Quan Ho
Let me invite you to the Lim Festival
Where the Quan Ho melodies bring us together
The brown four-piece dress and the charming yếm sồi
The crow-feathered scarf tilted gently on your head
You tilt your hat, I tilt my heart
As our souls flutter, full of yearning and joy
The betel nuts like phoenix wings, oh my love
Even before tasting, I feel tipsy from your sweet scent
Crossing the bridge, your attire sways
And your eyes, shy, fall upon the boat's side
We feel as though we have entered a hidden paradise
Meeting and knowing each other, bound by fate
Like the slender bamboo standing alone
You shine, lighting up the Lim festival square
Worth every effort to meet you here
Asking for your parents' blessing, so we can be united.
Singing the farewell tune, my love
I must hold my feelings, and we shall meet again later.

3. The Village of Quan Ho
The Cau River winds in lush green
Alongside the Quan Ho village serene
Sails fluttering, carrying nostalgic sighs
The first notes of songs, caught by the breeze as it flies
Mother washes the yếm by the river's flow
Under the bright moon, a soft song to show
The water whispers gently, so low
As the storks wander in search below
In the first month, the festival begins
The brown garments soaked with fragrant hints
The wide-brimmed hats gently bow
As dark skirts trail with each step now
They gather behind the bamboo shoots
The sound of rice cooking, the fire pursuits
Their eyes sharp like the betel knife
Gazing towards the East and West, full of life
The temple gate with its crescent moon
The eldest sister by the boat hums a tune
The second brother steers with care
The Quan Ho songs spread love everywhere
He leads her across the bridge
Handing his shirt as a soft pledge
Remember to ask your mother’s grace
As the winds blow, leaving no trace
The Quan Ho village, my dear home
Even in the days of bombs, we would roam
The shop beneath the banyan tree
The bridge broken in nine parts, a memory
Fireworks lit up on Mount Thiên Thai
The guns roared near Quán Dốc, piercing the sky
But the phoenix birds still ate their mangoes
And the apricot trees still grew despite all the woes
You saw him off, standing by the shore
As you sang your song, your heart would pour
You wanted to send your love along
With the river's flow and your sweet song
Mother carried water up the hill
Singing for her children with love so real
How many planes fell from the sky
As her hair turned silver with each sigh...
The round boats sail, do they pass by Bắc Ninh?
Listen to the songs of my hometown, where we sing
Amidst the bombs, the enemy's fight
The songs of my village still shine bright.

8. The Boat of Quan Ho
In January, the festival season begins
"Who will go to the Lim festival?"
Eyes searching for that special one
Who once held love so deep
Longing, trapped in memories
Where did "Drifting reeds and floating clouds" go?
Where is my "Beloved" now?
Are we still bound by fate, or is it lost?
"Call the boat" my heart sings
The one who "Leans against the boat’s side"
With a "Neatly folded áo"
The sky is clear, with a gentle breeze
Listen closely, hear the song
"Thirty-six kinds of birds"
"Last night, I missed you"
We are "South and North apart"
The song’s melody is so tender
Like "Weaving brocade" beneath the sky
"Softly, softly, oh"
"Still waiting, still waiting for you"
"How old is the moon?"
Happy to "Share the four seasons"
The "Old bamboo" has gone to the temple
The "Beautiful bamboo tree" waits
"Quan Ho songs, my love"
Still resounding with the "Hơi and Á"
My heart dances with joy
Because "The night is short, but love is long"
"Nine memories, ten loves"
Who could "Six worries, five thoughts"
The wine glass in Làng Vân is missed
"Drunk on the daughters of Bac Ninh"
"The good girl" with deep love
"Offering betel and areca, Quan Ho style"
Like "My love for you"
The wind blows gently tonight
The "Boat lifts its oars" and glides
I remember your graceful figure
My heart is "Full of longing".

9. Return to Kinh Bac
Who could have guessed that one day
I would return to Kinh Bac, lost in a dream
Drunk on the people, the wine, the Quan Ho songs…
Even my heart is intoxicated by this land.
Here I am, back in Kinh Bac!
On a cold winter afternoon, the wind fierce and wild
The distant sound of horses' hooves from the southern troops
As the Tống invaders lay scattered in defeat.
I have returned to this land of rivers and mountains
To the ancient capital, where golden days once bloomed
The marks of my ancestors' bravery are so vivid!
The old paths, covered with moss, remain undisturbed.
Who sings Quan Ho as the sun sets?
Giving comfort to a traveler’s lonely heart
The silk áo, the bamboo hat with its elegant charm
Are reminders of timeless memories.
I’ve returned to Kinh Bac, remembering Hoàng Cầm
“Is the one across the Đuống River still there?”
No matter how cold the land, I feel no chill
Reciting old poems, my heart grows warm.

10. Invitation to Visit Kinh Bac
Come with me to Kinh Bac
Where the Quan Ho tunes greet us at the village gate
Where the young lady’s rosy cheeks shimmer
And the dance of love between families is sweetly shared.
The Cau River flows with a silken ribbon of dark velvet
Its shores alive with boats bustling in the current
Mother and teacher both raise their voices high
As the sweat trickles down, blending with the green of the bamboo.
Listen closely, my friend, and hear
The songs of Kinh Bac echoing with the love of the homeland
Birds sing passionately in the branches above
And the lotus blooms as bees gather below.
Look there! The rice has begun to ripen
While the village girls proudly display their slender waists
Young maidens, fresh and lively
Pick mulberries in the farthest corner of the village.
In Đông Hồ, traditional paper is painted with vibrant flowers
Creating art that weaves the soul of the people into verses
Visit Văn Miếu, the Temple of Literature, and Đền Đô
A place to honor virtues, where great rulers are revered.
Visit the ancestral temple once
Where Buddhism began to take root, allowing us to understand more
Stop by Bút Tháp and Chùa Dâu
Where the Thousand-Eyed Buddha offers his blessing and calls to us.
The Lim Festival calls us back
In early spring, when prayers for peace fill the air
Our homeland, Kinh Bac, is thriving
Its thousand-year history, a land of glory and honor.
