1. Compassionate Eyes
Mother, mother, I ask you,
What do compassionate eyes mean?
It's the phrase on the lips
Of those who practice mindfulness.
Compassionate eyes are those that lessen anger,
To understand others deeply.
They bring peace,
Not harshly judging or criticizing.
If you see the world
Through the lens of love within you,
Without measuring flaws,
That will be true happiness.

2. Sadness
When sadness suddenly arrives,
Like the sky filled with clouds,
Smile, my dear,
And peace will fill your heart.
Sadness is also like a tree,
And it needs your care.
Water it, nourish the soil,
And it will bear sweet fruit and fragrant flowers.
A smile is like a grain of rice,
That forms after many times of grinding.
Only after boiling does the grain bloom,
Into pure, white rice.
A smile is like sunshine,
Appearing through the rain.
When that happens, a rainbow will appear,
Shining bright—can you see it?

3. Alone
When you find yourself alone,
Without anyone dear beside you,
Your heart feels cold and empty,
Look outside and you will see,
The trees and leaves whispering softly,
Bringing you coolness and calm.
They hum a song of love for you,
The Earth, tired and worn,
Loves you deeply and truly,
Offering sweet and fragrant food,
Providing you with warmth and shelter.
Though the world is crowded,
The sky is always generous,
Giving air and warm sunlight,
To nurture you day and night.
Love, always present,
Is there for you to accept.
Life, in its truth,
Knows love needs no name.

4. Continuity
If you love him dearly
But he's passed on
How can you avoid
The overwhelming emptiness?
When the cloud falls down
Becomes a pure drop of water
The water flows endlessly to the sea
Can you feel the doubt?
Water is still the cloud
Transforming in this world
Though its forms may vary
It is simply a continuation
So, smile and love yourself
For within you, he continues
To live: you - becoming who you are.

5. Worry
When you worry too much
About things yet to come
About what's ahead
It will surely bring confusion
Like walking down a road
Through green fields of flowers
But you're not fully present
Missing the beauty all around
If you're too afraid
Of the future ahead
You’ll miss the magic
Of the present moment's colors
The bridge is still far off
Tucked away at the end of the path
But if you walk with peace
The journey will be much easier.

6. Seeds
Everyone carries many seeds
Good and bad within themselves
Destruction or rebirth
It depends on how you tend to them
Sincerity is the seed of grain
Planted from the love within
Traitorousness is the path
That grows from a heart of anger
So if you're truly careful
And nurture the right seeds
With care and dedication
You will reap sweet fruits
Flowers will bloom and birds will sing
From the earth – you – a miracle
If we know how to come together
And cultivate with mindful intention.

7. Consolation
Consolation is a way
To bring comfort always
If you truly wish
To help someone in sorrow
Consolation is being present
It's having me here beside you
Smiling and breathing together
Mindfully, every moment
Consolation is a gift
The gift of your presence
It is the most precious offering
Of all the love we share.

8. Similar and Different
When you love someone
Because they are so like yourself
You are naturally drawn to them
This is a common feeling
But when you love someone
Because they are so different from you
It can be very challenging
And cannot be based on ignorance
Each person is a unique being
So how could we be the same?
Everyone has their own differences
That make the world colorful
Life itself is difficult
Like mountains and valleys intertwined
So, if you love them more deeply
You must never turn away
Therefore, love someone
Not because they are similar to you
This love is true
And complete, now and forever.

9. Sit Still
“Practice sitting still with steadiness
Then everything shall pass
For when you pause and remain
Peace and harmony will last
Sit with your back upright
Arms resting, calm and free
Breathing slow, gentle, light
To bring yourself tranquility
In this moment you will find
The root of every trouble
Let go of the blind mind
And begin to see with love and sight
This is mindfulness, indeed
The arising of awareness
In stillness, peace will spread
Across the world, bringing fairness.”
Poetry by Mbug

10. Anger
When someone is angry
And acts out in hurtful ways
They are likely suffering too
Wounded and withered in their days
So don't rush to anger's fire
Instead, try to calm your mind
Breathe deeply with mindfulness
And break free from pain, blind to kind
If you can see that inside them
They are troubled and not at ease
You will then cultivate
A heart full of love and peace.
