1. Take Notes During Lessons
One essential tip is to jot down the key points of your lesson. If you miss something, you can rewind the video to catch up. It's convenient and easy, right? After noting down the main points, you can use a highlighter to mark important information. This is a great way to quickly and effectively review the core concepts. While attending an online lesson, try using paper and pen instead of typing on a computer. Studies show it helps you stay more focused.

2. Write Down Any Unclear Points or Questions to Ask Your Teachers
The most effective online learning method is to take notes on what the teacher presents. If you don't write it down, it's like you're rejecting that knowledge. Pay special attention to points your teacher emphasizes and make sure to write them down carefully in your notebook or journal.
In a classroom setting, you can ask the teacher directly if something is unclear, and they'll explain it again. Don’t worry if you can't ask questions during online lessons. Simply jot down any unclear points while listening, and after the lesson, send them to your teacher. Teachers are always willing to clarify anything you're unsure about.

3. Listen to the lecture anytime and anywhere when possible
Teaching via television and online learning has been a successful educational model in many advanced countries for years, and many countries still consider it a promising method of education. In Vietnam, this is quite new, but through recent practical experience, this method of education has begun to attract significant attention from many educators and students.
One interesting and useful aspect of online learning is the ability to replay lessons, listen to them anytime and anywhere with a computer or mobile device connected to the internet. You can even download the lessons to listen whenever you want. This approach is especially effective for subjects that require a lot of memorization, such as literature or history.

5. Prevent distractions
We live in a world filled with countless distractions. This is a challenge for those who want to focus on a specific task during any given period. Social media or online streaming services can easily divert your attention when trying to concentrate. There are apps like FocusMe, Freedom, and Forest that can help you block distracting programs.
If your smartphone is causing too much distraction, try keeping it out of reach and sight, or switch it to silent mode with no notifications to avoid interruptions.

6. Learn via television
After the rise of online learning, recently, television-based education has become an increasingly popular channel that attracts both students and parents. For example, the educational program on Hanoi's TV channel, in collaboration with Hanoi's Department of Education and Training, broadcasts lessons for 9th grade students starting at 9:15 AM, Monday through Saturday.
Additionally, there should be more varied approaches for learners, with diverse learning materials. While teaching on television isn't new, it has recently gained significant interest, and as such, lessons need to be engaging and easy to understand, so students can make the most of their time in front of the screen.
Although learning via television has a challenge compared to livestream learning (online classes), where students can ask questions in real-time, television learning lacks this immediate feedback. However, teachers are aware of this and prepare thoroughly, ensuring the content is well-structured and understandable. With clear guidance, students can still absorb a considerable amount of knowledge from the lessons.

7. Complete all the assignments your teachers send online
Many teachers emphasize that online learning is truly effective when the platforms allow for meaningful interaction with students, enabling them to test and assess their progress, rather than simply assigning tasks and uploading lessons from teachers without feedback.
Therefore, completing assignments is crucial. Learning must be paired with practice, and doing the exercises will help you apply what you've learned, gain a deeper understanding, and retain the material more effectively.

8. Prepare thoroughly before attending the class
Online learning is considered a form of remote education that offers numerous benefits. Some advantages of online learning include not needing to go to school, having no direct supervision from teachers, and being able to choose your preferred study times. This provides a relaxed atmosphere, free from pressure. During the pandemic, when online lessons and a mountain of assignments are sent daily, besides technological support and teacher guidance, students' self-learning skills become crucial.
To ensure effective learning, you must prepare well before joining an online class, especially the essential tools such as:
- A computer or phone with an internet connection (ask your parents to help prepare this)
- Textbooks and notebooks
- Necessary study materials

9. Maintain a serious attitude towards studying
Learning is for your benefit, and it's up to you. Therefore, it’s important to adopt a positive mindset. Phrases like "I can’t do this" or "I hate online classes" will only hinder your progress. There's nothing impossible if you focus and work towards finding the most positive path. This will help you feel mentally at ease and determined to improve your academic results.
Even though you're not learning face-to-face with your teacher, it’s still crucial to maintain a serious attitude, stay focused, avoid distractions, and refrain from eating during lessons. Make sure to pay attention to all the lessons, especially if the teacher is live streaming on social media.
