1. Doduo Can Fly
In the Pokémon world, Doduo has the ability to learn how to fly just like a real bird. It starts by running at high speeds, and this quick movement generates enough power for it to take off. 2. Pokémon Names Contain Numbers
Many Pokémon names include numbers, such as the legendary trio: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. These names contain the Spanish numbers one, two, and three (uno, dos, tres).

3. The Origins of Pokémon
In the original concept, Arcanine was considered a legendary Pokémon, but in the game, it was replaced by Moltres. In the Anime, Arcanine is just an ordinary Pokémon, while another fire dog, Entei, takes the legendary role.

4. Pokémon Munna
Though Munna is a Generation 5 Pokémon, it actually appeared in the very first Pokémon game. A woman dreamt of a small, chubby, pink Pokémon with flower-shaped patches on its body, which inspired the creation of Munna.

5. Shape-Shifting Pokémon
Genesect is a futuristic Pokémon, while Kabutops is an ancient fossil Pokémon. However, there are rumors that Genesect is a modified version of Kabutops, despite the fact that the two share no similarities in their typing or moves, except for the shape of their heads.

6. Pokémon with the Ability to Change Gender
Azurill is the only Pokémon known to change gender after evolving. This cute, egg-shaped Pokémon with a plump body has a highly sensitive sense of hearing, capable of detecting sounds from a long distance, even underwater.

8. Attack Moves
A Rock-type Pokémon has attack moves that impact all other types. Designed with a tough, 'bad boy' appearance, its body is covered with diamond-like black stone. This Pokémon can also burrow through the ground at high speed by twisting its body.

9. Mr. Mime
Mime Pokémon was originally a female, but it wanted to be a gentleman, so its name was changed to Mr. Mime. This Pokémon loves to mimic others and perform actions. Mr. Mime has the ability to create invisible objects, using its fingers to generate a strange force field that solidifies the air, forming actual barriers.

10. The Name of Pokémon
The name Pokémon doesn't originate from the Japanese language. It’s a blend of two English words: "Pocket" and "Monster", meaning "pocket monster". The concept was created by Japanese game designer Satoshi Tajiri, who was inspired by his childhood memories of collecting insects in jars and wishing they could be trained to fight, much like a fictional TV show he loved. The process of designing the game was so challenging and intricate that Tajiri spent six years bringing the Pokémon game we love to life.
