Upon birth, Pi Xiu was already a beautiful creature, combining the finest features of various animals: the body of a lion, the head of a dragon, the body of a horse, the legs of a qilin, and a pair of horns with short wings on its back. Pi Xiu is known for its insatiable appetite for gold, silver, and jewels, but it lacks an anus, meaning it can only ingest but never expel anything. As a result, Pi Xiu dies early in life, but the Jade Emperor took pity on it and brought Pi Xiu to the heavens as a protector deity responsible for guarding wealth and driving away evil spirits.
