1. Returning to An Giang
Dreaming of returning to An Giang
My heart is swept by the winds of love, blooming ever brighter
Meeting you, I can only smile
Admiring your delicate twenty years of life
Long Xuyen, Chau Doc... there they are!
Chau Thanh, Chau Phu... words of love exchanged
The song of Cho Moi, soaring in the air
Tinh Bien, An Phu... love drawing us closer
The homeland rich with fish and shrimp
The rice fields sing, the garden shadows dance
I cherish the thot not tree, so simple
Under the midday sun, tears fall from deep pain
Spinning silk, planting mulberry trees...
This is the land where Tân Châu nourishes the lake
Passing through the Seven Mountains with a breeze
On the river, you dry your clothes, carefree
Mount Sam carves the stone of life’s pain
The hands of the craftsmen, exceptional and skillful
Glimpsing the vast waters
In the rice season, the river’s ebb brings deep thoughts
Venerating the spirit of the Lady of the Mountain
The eternal soul, forever lingering in life
Cù Lao Giêng, where laughter rings true
Cù Lao Ông Hổ, forever grateful in spirit
Here, I adore the local dishes
Sour mango salad, delicate sticky rice fostering love
Chau Doc fish paste, echoing memories
Seven Mountains’ beef, who will take it home in the evening?
An Giang, a fleeting moment of love
Goodbye, my eyes follow you as you leave.

2. An Giang, a Land of Abundance
No lantern can shine brighter than that of Chau Doc
No hill stands taller than the ones in Can Tho
I love you, you walk slowly with a dreamy air
Like a scene where Tôn Cáo waits for Bạch Viên.

3. An Giang
Oh, An Giang
Even before visiting, I miss you
Golden wild rice fields
Lighting up a riverbank
Flowers fluttering like butterfly wings
Returning to meet
With the rising water season
Endlessly vast
Oh, An Giang
Before loving, I miss you
Seven mountains veiled in mist
Waiting for a visitor
Faint outlines of distant hills
As tomorrow suddenly blooms
Bringing the warmth of sunlight
From a distant sky
Oh, An Giang
Even before leaving, I miss you
Your long hair sways
The storks flying
Travelling across many years
To a time long past
Vast green fields
Stretching to the horizon.

4. Falling for the Girl from An Giang
Falling for the girl from An Giang
With a graceful figure, gentle and so lovely
Your homeland is blessed with mountains and rivers
The green fields and shimmering rice paddies
The river flows gently, endlessly
With the Seven Mountains steeped in poetry
For you, the kind-hearted girl
I, a visitor from Hue, am enchanted by you
You, the girl from An Giang
With your gentle nature and impeccable grace
I, the stranger, deeply infatuated
In love with you because my heart beats only for you
I adore the violet twilight
The golden sunset shimmering with affection
Oh, lovely girl, petite and charming
May you joyfully accept this heartfelt love
I cherish you, the sweet and virtuous girl
I, a boy from Hue, with my poetic soul
Hue, a land of deep emotions and dreams
I hope you will accept this innocent love from afar...

5. Chau Doc, A Love Story
The sun struggles to breathe, clouds drift over the mountains
The bodhi leaves whisper softly in the breeze
Three rivers, the fertile silt flows like honey
On Tiên Isle, misty and mysterious
Tan Chau, the land of silk, where spring shyly arrives
Longing for the color of the violet lotus that floats
My heart fills with old dreams
At first touch, hands didn’t want to part
At the riverside café, the bitter coffee sips
Smoke curls, drifting, like memories of friends
Forgetting and remembering, tucked in drawers
Life drifts, vague like the morning mist
The church bell chimes, echoing nostalgia
Eyes follow the distant past
At every crossroads, facing joy and sorrow
How do we ever finish speaking of sunshine and rain?
You and I, sharing our bonds of affection
The garden of love grows anew, day by day
Opening the door to hear the birds sing
Whatever life brings, it’s worth living, my dear!

6. An Giang, My Homeland
The plains suddenly seem to lack sunlight
Floodwaters spread, turning the fields into seas
Do you see it? Humanity feels so small
But our willpower is vast and limitless!
Each day, the waters continue to rise
And each day, we must outwit nature’s fury
In hunger and hardship, we must carry the load together
But where are the tears that can truly save us, my dear?
Lives and possessions have sunk into the depths
Enduring a lifetime, in an instant, we’re left with nothing
In life and death, there’s no dividing line between them
Who owes whom, the people or the heavens?
We cannot stand by and wait for death
Let’s rise together, through heartache and sorrow
Let love empower us and bring new strength
The waters will recede, and life will bloom again!
After the flood, the sun will shine bright
Earth and people will plant the seeds of renewal
The white stork’s wings will carry the ancient songs
An Giang, my homeland, will smile again!

7. My Hoa Hung, The Soul of An Giang
Excitement stirs at Ong Ho Island
The sun pierces the sky, casting golden rays
The flowers promise a return of butterflies
Life flows in harmony along the winding rivers
Love and longing are sown, a connection that endures
The vibrant hues of silk robes worn by passersby
Let us breathe in the scent of the fields and breeze
My heart carries the weight of love and affection
The garden trees grow greener, more fertile
Your hair smells sweet as springtime arrives
I feel your love budding like fresh leaves
Time flows together with the rhythm of our passion
Oh, mighty Mekong, the skies of our homeland stretch wide
The fertile silt enriches even the harshest lands
How deeply I cherish the bonds of village life
My Hoa Hung, the soul of An Giang!

8. Longing for An Giang
I return to Châu Đốc, An Giang
The Seven Mountains, the sky shrouded in a dream
The distant afternoon, deep in the forest
The towering mountains hide a sorrow untold?
The river reflects the glow of night lights
A soft breeze stirs lips and flowing hair
The calm water flows through the passing days
Fertile silt left behind as the tides rise
In the evening rain, I step softly, lost in thought
The old streets, where farewells have been said
The setting sun paints faint shadows
Are you waiting for me at the end of this path?
The past is gone, but love remains distant
My heart still remembers the twilight of yesterday
We walked along rows of palm trees
White flowers fell, purple petals drifted away
My love from the past is lost
The old boat and pier, left behind
Will you return to the ferry crossing?
Will you visit Châu Đốc and pass through Châu Thành?
Your figure now lives deep in my heart
The river reflects my fragile longing
We return to gaze upon the purple hills
Searching for you in the misty light of dawn
The love we shared is now just a distant dream
Lost in the vastness of sky and earth, waiting for An Giang!

9. Come Visit My Hometown
If you ever visit An Giang
Let the light scent of rice fill the air
Feel the warmth of the land and the kindness of its people
Let your heart swing to the rhythm of life
In An Giang, the storks fly with strong wings
Fish play in the clear waters, so lively
The landscape is as beautiful as a tranquil painting
And ancient landmarks can be found everywhere
Come to my homeland on a bright sunny day
Follow the quiet, gentle riverbank
Listen to the soft whispers of the wind
Your heart will forget all worries
My homeland sings with peaceful folk melodies
It feels like the music is part of every breath
My homeland, a place where doors are always open
Where dreams can take flight in the endless sky.

10. Châu Đốc
You came to Châu Đốc, listening to my tales
And felt the waters parting into three streams
On Đất Cúng Road, near the Vĩnh Tế Canal
And the Bà Bài Pagoda standing beside the river!
At the head of the river, Vựa Wharf, then Bến Đá
Mount Sam rises, with phoenix flowers blooming at the peak
Gazing down at the endless green fields
The fresh air fills the heart with longing!
As dusk falls, listen to the river’s song at Cầu Quan
The Ông Cò Canal, where the tamarind leaves flutter
The Bodhi tree, brought from India, stands tall
The An Biên iron bridge echoes memories of old!
At the racecourse, I breathe the fragrance of rice
Thoại Ngọc Hầu’s legacy, still alive
The Bà Pagoda’s incense rises high
The bell tolls, awakening the soul and the world!
Châu Đốc, my homeland, a place of unique beauty
Two bridges connect the banks, bringing joy
Love lingers forever in our gazes
I hold your hand, and we smile together!
