1. Taking You to Ben Tre
I want to take you to Ben Tre
A place you've only heard me speak of
In the heart of the Mekong, with its gentle breezeWhere the Tien River swells during flood season
And coconut trees lean gracefully, casting shadows on the riverbank
The Rach Mieu Bridge stands tall with its majestic cables
Ben Tre, once a revolutionary stronghold
The brave and determined long-haired soldiers of the past
Moc Cai, Ba Tri, famous across the land
The people of Ben Tre, heroic and bold
Sacrificing for the nation without hesitation
How wonderful were the women of those times
The uprising against the Americans left them defeated
The women of Ben Tre, like towering coconut trees
Sacrificing in silence during the war
With gentle smiles that radiate warmth and beauty
The women of Ben Tre, beautiful in spirit and appearance
Visiting Phung Island, I saw your smile that moved me
As we parted, I felt a deep sense of longing
For the land and its people, forever intertwined.

2. How I Love Ben Tre
Ben Tre, the land of coconut trees
Standing proudly from ancient times until now
Ba Tri is home to the temple of Nguyen Chieu
Where the poet’s verses defeated the enemy
Moc Cai, renowned for its fame
The Dong Khoi movement etched in history
Chau Thanh, with its charming landscapes
Two islands, Qui and Phung, stay green all year round
La Chai Market, with its fruits and flowers
Sweet aroma and rich flavors, a symbol of homeland love
Thanh Phu, with the famous Hang Duong beach
Beside the heavenly West Do paradise
Binh Dai, a district with a strong will
The dikes prevent the salty tides, creating fertile lands
Giong Trom, known far and wide
My Long, with its delicious rice paper that everyone craves
The Rach Mieu Bridge points the way home
The City always beckons with open arms
Even from afar, don’t forget our homeland
Oh, remember our coconut land!

3. Visiting Ben Tre
Today, I return to Ben Tre
Crossing the Rach Mieu Bridge, I stop to admire
A riverside countryside so full of charm
Listening to the traditional folk songs, my soul is lifted
As I wander through this land
I see so many coconut trees around
Passing the beautiful Binh Dai beach
I meet a young woman, graceful and lovely
Ben Tre, a land of hardship for many years
But now it changes every day, my friend
Here, I see something truly wonderful
The birthplace of the revolution, the land of coconuts.

4. Ben Tre, My Homeland
Ben Tre, my homeland, this is it
With the Ham Luong Bridge, where the winds blow year-round
It's been so long since I visited
The Dong Khoi Avenue lined with shady coconut trees
I remember how it felt
The city, clean and green
The sky high with white clouds all around
The shadows stretch beneath the warm golden sun
The streets are bustling with people and vehicles
People come and go in perfect lines
Oh, how beautiful this homeland is
Its economy growing, people full of life
Young and old, men and women, all filled with joy
Visitors from far and wide are welcomed here
To explore the stunning gardens and sights
Ben Tre is changing, full of joy and cheer.

5. Ben Tre, My Hometown
My hometown is all the way in Ben Tre
Where coconut trees cast their shadows in the summer afternoon
The lone boat drifts as the wind whispers
Every garden full of sweet fruits, their fragrance in the air
The scarves flutter, caught in a gentle breeze
Long hair sways as she walks the path
The young girl is so radiant and beautiful
Listening to the singer’s melancholy songs
Her hometown is as beautiful as a fairy tale
Come and visit this wonderful land of mine.
Poem: Yen Hoang

6. The Ben Tre I Love
Ben Tre, the place I adore, created a legend
For yesterday and forever more
The glorious victories of years past
Wove a proud history that remains profound!
Our deep gratitude to the heroes and martyrs
Who gave their essence for this land
With their blood and bones they paid the price
To eternally shine as stars in the sky!
Living is giving, noble indeed
Immortal examples that endure forever
With each new page, hatred turns to peace
Their sacrifices, etched in eternity!
The standing figure of Ben Tre echoes with songs
Rich melodies, heartfelt folk tunes
With a gentle voice, simple and sincere
The peaceful stance, filled with motherly love!
The Mekong River shares its waters day and night
Carrying fertile soil to nourish the fruitful lands
The scent of coconut trees blends with the lush green rice fields
Nature favors this land where birds find their home!
The sea hums with the sound of our beloved homeland
Like a mother’s comforting voice, soft and kind
Guiding us through hard times and despair
Oh homeland, where golden fields and pearl-like seas shine!
The three islets unite the people
Into a loving, prosperous region
Structures rise on every road
As day by day, our homeland evolves!
For the roots, the heart does not bargain!
Enduring the struggles, we journey through life
We vow to love, to cherish this motherland
Ben Tre, you are the embrace of a mother.
Poem: Trong Uu Huynh

7. The Love Story of Ben Tre
Come back to rekindle the old bond
Where the sweet scent of love blooms beneath the coconut trees
In Binh Dai, the night fades, waiting for the traveler
Hàm Luông river stands ready, waiting to ferry us
Years of separation, longing for this reunion
That time when we first met, you waiting under the rain
Poem: Hien Le

8. Returning to Ben Tre
At the year's end, I return to Ben Tre
Crossing the Rach Mieu Bridge, I hear the familiar song
On the other side, the city of My Tho awaits
Ben Tre is just across the river, so near
The bridge is built now, but the old song still lingers
The cable-stayed bridge connects the banks
So we forget the poetry of the past
The deep river reflects the endless sky
The coconut forest sways gracefully on the island
There you stand, in the golden sunset
Your figure, the village girl from years ago
You stand by the coconut tree
Your long hair, fair skin swaying, inviting me
Come visit Con Phung, take in the scenery
And enjoy the refreshing coconut water
Afterward, I'll think of you
Longing for the beauty of the place and the taste of coconut
Ben Tre, a paradise for the soul
With a sweet, loving girl in the midst

9. Ben Tre
If you haven’t been to Ben Tre, you don’t know
But once you arrive, countless memories flood in!
Remembering my mother weaving beauty in the mist
And you, waiting, sleepless with hope!
Ben Tre, where rice is white and water is clear
The western waters of the Mekong Delta, a garden paradise
The lively market of Gioi Chom, bustling with trade
You, so sweet, always smiling with joy
In the spring, the fruits bloom brightly...
Under the moonlit night, my mother hosts a feast for friends...
Visitors linger, reluctant to leave
Ben Tre, close to the sea, yet so dear
A deep bond felt, though the distance is near
The swallows fly, the flowers bloom golden in the yard...
We’ll meet again in the coming spring
Joy and happiness await!....
Poetry by: Trần Văn Lợi

10. A Visit to Mother’s Homeland
Land of heroes, my beloved Ben Tre
Visiting under the scorching noon sun
The coconut tree stands tall as she sings happily
The wooden bench leans, longing to hear her voice.
Life flows gently, peaceful and serene
The river quietly flows, as if asking, “Do you enjoy this place?”
So many beautiful sights along the water’s edge
Where green coconuts meet the shadows of bamboo trees.
