The number of ancient trees is so abundant that K. M. Djemmukhatze, a scholar from the A-Ba-Cu Biochemical Institute of the Soviet Academy of Sciences, upon visiting Suoi Giang in the 1960s, remarked, 'I have traveled to 120 countries with tea, but I have never seen such ancient tea trees anywhere else. Is this the origin of the tea plant? The tea here is so unique that it contains all 18 superior tastes of tea from around the world' (as written in the Suoi Giang commune's guestbook).
