1. Beyond a Steel Sky
In 1994, Revolution Software launched a thrilling cyberpunk game, following the journey of a man and his robot companion through a harsh and dangerous future world, ruled by an omnipresent computer. 25 years later, Beyond a Steel Sky made its debut on Apple Arcade, continuing this multi-part saga.
The 10-year gap is enough for players to accept that much has changed, while also allowing us to introduce new players to Robert Foster, the hero, and his AI partner, Joey. As big fans of the movie Stand by Me, we worked to capture that same sense of brotherhood. The setting of Beyond a Steel Sky has a distinct cyberpunk feel but avoids many of the typical visual styles associated with the genre. The game’s vibrant colors and Union City—a city designed by AI—stand in stark contrast to the usual grim, dystopian cyberpunk environments. Because of its AI design, the city is bright and cohesive, almost as if it were created by a single artist. One issue with the point-and-click gameplay is that there aren’t many ways to interact. Some puzzles feel forced and somewhat silly, such as throwing a crowbar out the window to have a bird fly in. However, in Beyond a Steel Sky, if you have a crowbar in your inventory, you'll definitely need it to open a door somewhere.
Everything in the game serves a clear purpose, and fans of the original will recognize characters that fit seamlessly into the world. Even after 10 years, the story remains consistent, so you'll encounter familiar details that will make you smile.

The mobile version of Brawlhalla stays true to the gameplay of its console counterparts. Players are transported to floating islands in the sky, where they engage in fun-filled battles. The controls are unique, with fixed buttons for movement, skills, and actions like jumping, descending, and weapon switching. New players may initially find the controls a bit confusing but will quickly adapt. The player who knocks out the most opponents and earns the highest score wins. The game features over 50 powerful heroes, and the roster is regularly updated. Each hero has unique stats, and every hero is equipped with two signature weapons, such as swords, axes, bows, and guns. These weapons are not equipped at the start of a match but can be found randomly as items on the battlefield.

Crashlands is often described as a blend of Diablo, Don’t Starve, and Pokemon. If you’ve played and enjoyed any of these games, then Crashlands is definitely a title you shouldn’t miss. The main gameplay is similar to other survival games, where you collect resources to craft higher-tier gear. The weapons and armor you craft come with random attributes, such as increased damage, life steal, or setting enemies on fire. Finding the ideal equipment requires spending significant time grinding to gather the necessary materials. Crashlands features a vast world map paired with a dynamic day-night cycle, enhancing the exploration experience. While it doesn’t have as many combat skills as a traditional RPG, the focus is more on evading and choosing the right moment to attack enemies wisely. The enemies’ attacks can be unpredictable, requiring careful timing and strategy. The crafting system is similar to that of Diablo, where you continuously improve your gear as you progress.
What makes Crashlands even more captivating is that when you equip new gear, you can see noticeable changes to your character’s appearance, a seemingly small detail that greatly contributes to keeping players engaged.

9. Among Us
Among Us is an online multiplayer game developed by InnerSloth in 2018. However, it only gained widespread popularity in 2020, thanks to game playthroughs shared on platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
Among the key figures who helped revive the game are Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar. They live-streamed their gameplay of Among Us on Twitch, attracting a large audience. Players participate in the game as part of a crew of 4-10 people, either online or through local Wi-Fi connections. The crew plays as astronauts aboard a spaceship, space station, or planet-based base, performing various tasks. The unique twist is that among the crew (Crewmates), there are one or two impostors. These impostors will secretly try to eliminate members of the crew, without revealing their true identity. As players work on their assigned tasks—such as repairing the ship or base to get the crew home—the impostors work to sabotage and kill off crew members one by one. Players can call emergency meetings to discuss who they suspect to be the impostor and provide reasons to convince others to vote. After each vote, suspected crew members are eliminated, and remaining crewmates continue to deduce and make accusations in the next round.
Eventually, the game ends when one side wins. The mechanics of Among Us are simple and easy to understand, making it a great game for families, even for those who are not familiar with video games, to enjoy together.

10. The Battle of Polytopia
If you're looking for a turn-based strategy game with a mix of empire building, exploration, and combat, The Battle of Polytopia is the perfect choice.
Players control a medieval empire, gradually expanding its reach (upgrading fortresses, advancing science, building armies, and exploring new lands). Once sufficiently powerful, players invade neighboring empires (controlled by either AI or other players). Conquering them results in victory. The primary goal is to destroy the enemy empire before they destroy yours. To do so, players need to improve their scientific knowledge to unlock various features like boats and new military units. The Battle of Polytopia is set in a medieval war theme, featuring multiple empires from around the world, such as Native Americans, Roman warriors, Samurai, and Nomads. Each empire has its own distinct civilization, army, and architecture. Players earn stars after each round, which they can use to advance their science. Unlocking a new science feature grants new capabilities to the empire. For example, unlocking the boating science allows units to move across water by ship.
Resources in The Battle of Polytopia require a certain number of stars to be harvested, allowing surrounding structures to be upgraded. Some resources include: on land (fruits, uncivilized villages, etc.), and at sea (various marine life).
