1. Tet Flower Markets
Spring is the season of flowers, often compared to a gentle and beautiful young woman. And perhaps all of this beauty is brought together at the Tet flower markets. From peach blossoms, apricot flowers, roses, to lilies... all become even more stunning when gathered in one place.

2. Old Apartment Complexes
Hanoi today dons a vibrant, grand new coat. However, the people of Hanoi will never forget the image of the old apartment complexes, weathered and moss-covered, tucked away in the hustle and bustle of the modern city. These may be old, but they are timeless. Though sparse, they will never disappear. People remember these old complexes as fond memories of childhood—places where neighbors were like family, where the walls peeled and the buildings creaked, where hundreds shared the same water tank, and where every evening, clothes hung on balconies still damp, without a word of complaint, just the warmth of community and neighborly ties.

3. Sidewalk Iced Tea
Sidewalk iced tea is a beloved tradition in Hanoi, where no matter who you are, where you're from, or what language you speak, when you sit together at a sidewalk tea stall, everyone is the same. Iced tea can be found in every corner of Hanoi, from bustling streets to small alleys, from shopping centers to humble eateries. It's the perfect spot to chat about life, to laugh, and to unwind after a long day. Holding a cup of iced tea, smiling with a sip, taking a deep breath, and feeling the refreshing taste—it’s like suddenly everything slows down and life feels cooler. Sipping iced tea while leisurely enjoying it is truly an art.

4. Hanoi Cuisine
What makes you long for Hanoi when you're far away? Is it the fragrant bowl of beef pho, the generous serving of grilled pork vermicelli, or the crispy fried spring rolls, stuffed dumplings, or bánh mì? Every region has its own unique dishes, but Hanoi’s cuisine stands apart. No matter how many times I’ve tasted these dishes elsewhere, they never match the flavor of those served in Hanoi. This is what makes me miss Hanoi every time I leave, and what makes me fall in love with Hanoi over and over again.

5. Hanoi Girls
Hanoi girls radiate a unique charm. Their beauty is gentle, graceful, and refined in a way that's truly different. The classic, calm, yet highly sophisticated beauty of Hanoi women is inherited from the rich cultural heritage of the thousand-year-old Thang Long-Hanoi. They don’t flaunt or rush. They are delicate, graceful, and elegant. There's a saying 'beauty is in the manner,' but Hanoi girls don’t rely on mannerisms to overshadow their beauty. Instead, they use their elegance to highlight their natural charm. Nowadays, Hanoi girls know how to enhance their beauty with subtle makeup, wearing outfits that are modest yet still radiant. They don’t need bright lipstick or heavy makeup to shine. This modern beauty, mixed with their timeless grace, reminds me of an older, gentler, and more refined image, and that's part of why I love Hanoi so much. The girls of Hanoi possess a soft, heart-stirring beauty.

6. Hanoi's Autumn
Hanoi’s autumn is delicate and sophisticated, making it the most beloved season for tourists visiting the capital. This time of year feels effortlessly gentle, and the changing surroundings tug at the hearts of travelers from afar. The streets bathed in the golden hues of falling leaves, the light breezes of autumn, the steaming bowls of sweet soup from street vendors, the intoxicating fragrance of milk flowers carried by the wind—everything about this autumn in Hanoi naturally etches itself into the hearts of visitors, leaving them with a deeper love for this land.

7. Sunset Over West Lake
West Lake is considered the best spot in Hanoi to witness a breathtaking sunset. Each evening, the lake dresses in a stunning crimson red, and the entire scene is bathed in soft, tranquil hues. As the sun dips below the horizon, the surface of West Lake glows with golden and silver tones, creating a shimmering, almost magical effect that leaves onlookers speechless.

8. Lush Green Tree-Lined Streets
For those who are native to Hanoi and have witnessed its turbulent history, the city’s beauty remains unforgettable, especially the tree-lined streets that add an almost poetic charm. If you're a visitor to Hanoi, walking through these avenues for the first time is likely to evoke a deep sense of wonder and connection to the city. Streets like Phan Dinh Phung, Kim Ma, and Nguyen Chi Thanh, famous for their aged trees, have borne witness to our ancestors' struggles in the fight for independence. Even today, when driving down these roads, I can’t help but feel moved by the sight of the trees lining the way, reminding me of a Hanoi that is green, beautiful, and full of life.

9. The Changing of Seasons
Hanoi, like a young maiden, can sometimes be capricious and hard to please. The changing seasons mark the times when the city undergoes the most dramatic emotional shifts. She stirs and showers the city with spring rain, she snaps with the hot sun of summer, she curls up and brings the crisp winds of autumn, and she sluggishly drifts into the cold embrace of winter. Every time the seasons change, Hanoi feels like a different version of itself—charming, gentle, and utterly lovable. No matter how she transforms, my heart is always filled with a profound love for this city that carries the name Hanoi.

10. Hanoi at Night
Hanoi is perhaps at its most beautiful at night, when the rush fades away, the chaos vanishes, and the hustle of the city gives way to a gentler, more peaceful scene. The tranquility of the night is the very breath of Hanoi, the steady heartbeat of a city known for its calmness. Hanoi at night feels completely different, and if you ever get the chance, immerse yourself in a Hanoi evening. Feel the warmth that you can't find when you wake up in the morning. As the day begins, Hanoi becomes crowded and noisy again, but at night, it hides its peacefulness away, allowing only those who take the time to truly appreciate it. To love Hanoi, you must move slowly...
