You can restore settings to their default state without deleting your content. If you wish to keep your settings, make sure to back up your iPhone before resetting. For example, if you are troubleshooting an issue and resetting doesn't work, you may want to restore previous settings from a backup. Navigate to Settings > General Settings > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset. If you choose the 'Erase All Content and Settings' option, all your content will be erased.
When you reset network settings, all previously used networks and VPN settings not configured by a mobile device management (MDM) profile will be deleted. Wi-Fi will be turned off and back on, disconnecting any active network. Wi-Fi settings and 'Ask to Join Networks' will remain enabled. To remove VPN settings configured by a profile, go to Settings > General Settings > VPN & Device Management, select the profile, and tap 'Delete Profile.' This action will also remove other settings and accounts provided by the configuration.


3. Erase All Content and Settings
To perform the erase all system data on iPhone action, you need a working iPhone/iPad to navigate through the touchscreen or connect to a computer. You can quickly access this option by going to Settings > General Settings > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Alternatively, if you cannot access this through the phone, connect your device to a computer and erase the data using iTunes. If that doesn't work, you may need to put your device into Recovery Mode, which will erase all data, restoring the iPhone/iPad to factory settings. To enter DFU mode, simply restart your device and hold the power button until the Apple logo appears. On iPhones with a notch, you will need to press the power button and volume button together for a few seconds.
If you're an iPhone user, you might have often tinkered with your device or searched on YouTube for more tips. Similar to many other electronic devices, the iPhone has a memory chip that stores data. As shown in the image above, if you destroy the memory chip, all your data will be corrupted and irretrievable. Be sure to follow safety guidelines and consider looking into methods for freeing up iPhone storage and clearing cache memory to protect your device's data.


4. Check the apps consuming battery and assess battery health
Apple products offer detailed tracking capabilities to help users monitor and control phone activities. This means you can check which iPhone apps drain battery the most and avoid unnecessary power usage by certain apps. To perform the check, follow these steps:
- Step 1: Open Settings on the home screen and select Battery.
- Step 2: Here, you can see which apps are consuming more battery than usual.
Choose to view the past 24 hours to examine daily battery consumption, or select the past 10 days to get a summary of the app’s total power usage. As shown in the image below, one app used 36% of the iPhone’s battery in 24 hours and 45% over the past 10 days. If you notice an app consuming more battery than usual, check for updates in the App Store to fix bugs and optimize performance. If battery drain persists, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the app.
Check battery health is also essential in several cases, such as purchasing a second-hand iPhone, or simply to ensure the internal battery is still functional for replacements or repairs. Timely checks will keep your phone safe and prevent potential fire hazards. You can check directly using the Battery Health feature on your iPhone: Go to Settings > Battery, then select Battery Health. Here, you can see the Maximum Capacity compared to when the battery was new, along with the message 'Peak Performance Capability,' meaning your battery is still in good condition and performance hasn’t declined much, so you likely don’t need a replacement. On the other hand, if a different message appears, it’s time to replace the battery.


5. Resolve Bluetooth connectivity issues
Bluetooth is an essential tool for sharing and connecting on iPhones. A lost Bluetooth connection can be quite frustrating during your smartphone usage. One of the simplest but effective ways to fix this issue is by toggling Bluetooth on and off. To disable Bluetooth, go to Settings > Bluetooth and slide the green bar to turn it off, or access the Control Center, tap the Bluetooth icon to turn it off, and tap again to reconnect. If Bluetooth remains unstable, try forgetting the connection and reconnecting. To do this, go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the 'i' icon, and select 'Forget This Device.' Then, simply reconnect to the device.
If you encounter Bluetooth connection issues with no clear cause, restarting your iPhone may help. Go to Settings > General, then tap Shut Down, and slide to power off. Over time, your iPhone might experience overload, which can lead to Bluetooth connection problems. To fix this, you can reset your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.


6. Resolve HomeKit issues
Apple HomeKit is a stable and reliable platform, as the Apple smart home system operates locally across different devices like iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod, or HomePod mini. iCloud plays a crucial role in linking all these devices together. Some users have encountered issues with the Home App, where opening the app displays a spinning circle with the message 'Loading Accessories and Scenes.' Siri also fails to respond to requests or execute HomeKit automation. The only way to exit this screen is by selecting the 'Reset Home Configuration' option at the bottom. To resolve the issue, users will need to set up their entire home configuration again.
Steps to restore the Apple HomeKit Home app configuration: Step 1: If you see 'Loading Accessories and Scenes,' wait a moment for the next step notification. Step 2: Ensure all iOS devices integrated with HomeKit are updated to the latest iOS version, have two-factor authentication enabled, and that Home is using iCloud (on iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > Username > iCloud > scroll down to Home > turn on). Step 3: Restart the HomeKit Hub (iPad, Apple TV, HomePod). Step 4: Finally, relaunch the Home app.


7. Disable Background App Refresh
Background App Refresh is a feature that allows apps to run in the background on mobile devices. It enables apps to automatically search for and notify users of new information, even when they aren't actively running on the screen. This feature makes it easy to switch between apps without waiting for them to reload. Additionally, it allows messaging and social media apps like Messenger, Facebook, Zalo, and Telegram to send notifications instantly to users.
However, Background App Refresh can also make your phone overheat and prevent features like the camera flash from working. To check which apps are using this feature, go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh. Here, you'll find a list of apps using this feature, and you can disable it for apps you don't use frequently.


8. How to fix continuous iPhone rebooting issues
One common reason your iPhone may be repeatedly restarting is using a poor-quality charger that causes unstable power transmission. To resolve this, switch to an official Apple charger or a certified MFi charger from a reputable brand. Also, make sure to clean any dust or debris in the charging port. Another solution is to update your software and apps: go to Settings, select General, and then tap Software Update. Press Download and Install to complete the update. Software conflicts may also trigger this issue when launching certain apps. To fix this, visit the App Store, tap your profile icon in the upper right corner, and select 'Update All' to ensure all apps are up to date.
To check your iPhone's battery health, go to Settings, then Battery, and select Battery Health. If your iPhone's battery capacity is under 80%, it’s time for a replacement to maintain optimal performance. If these steps don't resolve the rebooting issue, try restoring your device to its factory settings. Make sure to back up your data first to avoid losing anything important. Step 1: Go to Settings, then General, and choose Transfer or Reset iPhone. Step 2: Tap Erase All Content and Settings to complete the process.


9. Update to the Latest iOS Version
When you update to the latest iOS version, your data and settings remain unchanged. Before you proceed, make sure your iPhone is set up for automatic backups, or back it up manually. If you did not enable automatic updates during the initial setup, you can do so by going to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates. Turn on Download iOS Updates and Install iOS Updates. Once an update is available, your iPhone will download and install it overnight while charging and connected to Wi-Fi. You will be notified before the update is installed.
You can check and install software updates at any time by going to Settings > General > Software Update. The screen will show the currently installed iOS version and notify you if an update is available. To turn off automatic updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update > Automatic Updates. You can also connect your iPhone to your computer with a cable. On a Mac (macOS 10.15 or later): In the Finder sidebar, select your iPhone and click General at the top of the window. On a Mac (macOS 10.14 or earlier) or Windows PC: Open iTunes, click the iPhone icon near the top left of the iTunes window, then click Summary.


10. Update Apps and Close Background Apps
Updating your iPhone apps ensures you not only benefit from new features and performance improvements but also fix bugs and issues in the apps themselves. To update manually: Open the App Store on your iPhone > tap your account profile at the top right > swipe down to refresh the list of apps needing updates > tap Update All to update all apps or tap Update next to individual apps. Alternatively, you can search for specific apps on the App Store and tap Update if an update is available. For automatic updates: Go to Settings > App Store > turn on the toggle for App Updates. Although automatic updates are enabled, your iPhone may not always update apps instantly, so it's best to manually check for updates occasionally.
Many iPhone users leave multiple apps running in the background thinking it's convenient, but this can cause issues like lag and app crashes. Therefore, it's recommended to close background apps on your iPhone. Step 1: Open the App Switcher: Depending on your iPhone model, double-tap the Home button (iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, SE (2020), iPad Mini, iPad Air, iPad 10.2", etc.). Step 2: Close the background apps: Swipe right to find the app you want to close > swipe up to close it.
