6. Hanoi University of Science and Technology
Hanoi University of Science and Technology, also known as Vietnam-France University, is a public university established in 2009 as a result of a cooperation agreement between the governments of Vietnam and France. Since its founding, the university has gradually expanded its academic offerings. Today, there are 13 programs chosen by both the Vietnamese and French governments. 100% of the faculty members hold doctoral degrees and possess extensive teaching and research experience. Over 50% of the professors are from foreign institutions in countries such as France, the United States, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Japan. This international faculty, along with a strong command of English and a fast, professional work ethic, provides USTH students with distinct advantages, especially when applying for internships abroad.
In 2019, the French government implemented a tuition fee increase for international students in an effort to improve the quality of education and the learning environment. While this increase has led to concerns among students, it is worth noting that several prestigious French educational institutions will not apply these new fees for the upcoming academic year.
As a result, international students, including those from Vietnam, will now face tuition fees that are 15 times higher than the previous year. Specifically, tuition for bachelor’s programs will rise to 2,770 euros, compared to 170 euros before. Master’s students will see fees increase to 3,770 euros. This policy aims to increase the number of international students in France, with the target of 500,000 students by 2027, compared to the current 300,000. The additional funds will improve learning conditions, the quality of education, and scholarship opportunities.
