4. When Students Cannot Answer a Question
Being a teacher doesn't mean knowing everything or having deep knowledge on all topics. You'll encounter unexpected questions from students that you may not have an immediate answer to or might not fully understand. In such cases, don't panic or give vague answers. Instead, try these approaches:
- You can promise to answer the question after class or later in the day.
- You can say, 'This is a complex issue, and you can explore it further. I'll provide you with books to help you research the topic you’re interested in.' Or, 'That’s an interesting question, but I don’t have the answer right now. I’ll get back to you tomorrow.'
- Give a general answer and steer the focus back to the main lesson.

6. Have a Teaching Plan
One of the key traits of an excellent homeroom teacher is the use of a teaching diagram. The lesson plan should be well-prepared, but having a visual teaching outline helps avoid confusion. A quick glance at the diagram can quickly remind you of where you are in the lesson.

7. Allow for Buffer Time
Always reserve 2-5 minutes at the end of your lesson to reinforce key concepts for students. If you go over the planned lesson, you might need more time, but if you run out of time, there's no way to make it up. Managing time effectively is crucial for becoming a great teacher, so never underestimate its importance.

8. Divide the Board for Easier Writing
Teachers wearing high heels are at risk of falling. Some shorter teachers may have difficulty writing on the board. It’s advisable to divide the board into three sections right from the start of the lesson. Place examples in the third section, and if necessary, remove the examples to leave space for the key points later on.

9. Attire
Attire is one of the most important considerations for teachers before each class. They always want their students to admire not only their knowledge and teaching methods but also their appearance, which should both adhere to professional standards and be stylish in the eyes of their students.
Therefore, choosing the right outfit is crucial. Avoid wearing overly short skirts or thin clothing. Never wear casual home clothes to class. In case you face any wardrobe issues, such as a broken zipper, loose stitching, or stains, stay calm and address it. You might step out briefly to fix your attire or ask another teacher to help check it for you.
