Cook until the porridge is soft, then add perilla, onion, ginger, and salt, stirring well and eating while hot to induce sweating, making you feel better.
- Flu without sweating or chest tightness: Use 20g of fresh leaves mashed, add hot water, stir and strain for hot water; or mix 10 chopped leaves with hot porridge, eat and rest to sweat.
- Cold flu with no sweating: Perilla, lemon leaves, mint, and lemongrass, one handful each, boil in water for steam. For flu with cough and headache: Perilla, thyme, betel leaves (one handful), 50 fresh turmeric roots, fresh ginger slices: 3. Boil 3 cups of water and steam until sweating, then drink a cup of hot water. For seasonal flu: perilla, thyme: 20g, arrowroot, mint: 10g, turmeric, ginger: 8g, and saihuo: 15g. Except for ginger, the others are dry. Boil 3 cups of water down to one, drink hot, then cover with a blanket to sweat.
- Cold from rainy, windy weather, body aches, headaches, stuffy nose, nausea: Use 15g perilla leaves, old orange peel, ginger, white onion (whole plant), 10g each, chop and drink while hot.
- Fever during pregnancy: If pregnant and feverish, avoid antibiotics. It's best to use perilla and thyme, one handful each, boil two cups of water until one cup remains, let it cool, then drink, followed by a hot porridge with a raw egg yolk mixed in.
