There are also those who take up fishing for the simple pleasure of being in tune with nature, reflecting in a relaxed state. Nguyễn Khuyến fished in this manner. He fully opened his senses to absorb the autumn season, which also marked the fishing time in the northern region of Vietnam. Like the children in his village, he fished with focus, excitement, and passion. The result of this pursuit was the creation of the masterpiece poem 'Autumn Fishing' (Thu điếu):
Cold autumn pond, clear water like a mirror,
A tiny fishing boat, small and insignificant.
Blue waves ripple lightly,
Yellow leaves flutter in the wind.
