1. A Baby is the Joy of the Entire Family
"At three months, babies can roll over, at seven months they can crawl, and at nine months they take their first wobbly steps." My grandmother is right—Linh Nhi, my niece, whom I call my aunt's daughter, was just nine months old when she started toddling and babbling. Every day, she brings endless joy and amusement to our home.
Linh Nhi is absolutely adorable. She has a tiny, chubby, and lovable body. Her face is round, her skin rosy and soft. Her arms and legs are plump with distinct creases. Her black hair covers her head, and her large, dark eyes are as round as two black pearls, rarely blinking. Her cheeks are rosy and puffy. Every time she smiles, her dimples show, and her little teeth, barely coming through, are so charming.
For the past two weeks, Linh Nhi has been clumsily learning to walk. Her tiny feet take short, uncertain steps, and her little body sways back and forth with her head leaning forward—it's so endearing. Even though she falls down often, she never cries. Now, if someone says, "Walk like an old man," she stands up, hunches her back, pretends to use a cane, and walks with a swaying motion, making the whole family laugh. She always has a big smile on her face.
Linh Nhi is also learning to speak. She can clearly say a few words: "grandmother," "father," "mother," "eat." The other words sound adorable with her baby voice. Whenever she sees anyone in the family getting ready to go somewhere, she shouts, "Ti, ti!" asking to come along. If something doesn't please her, she'll lie down in protest. My siblings teach their children to greet the elders and anyone who visits, and Linh Nhi always responds with a polite bow and "Yes! Yes!" She loves it when she gets praised for being so well-behaved.
But the most exciting thing for Linh Nhi is being carried out for a walk. Her eyes light up with joy, and she jumps with excitement. Linh Nhi is truly the joy of our family. Since her arrival, our home has been filled with laughter and happiness. Everyone in the family dotes on her, hoping she eats well, sleeps soundly, and grows quickly.

2. Thanh's Baby is Absolutely Adorable
Opposite my house lives Aunt Thanh, who has an adorable baby girl named Bao Linh. Everyone loves her and affectionately calls her by the cute nickname, "Tu Ti".
This year, Tu Ti has just turned one. Her tiny mouth is always smiling, revealing a few small teeth that look like young corn kernels. Her chubby little hands frequently clap together. When I say, "Tu Ti, give me a kiss," she tilts her little rosy cheeks in anticipation, looking absolutely precious. She has round, dark, and clear eyes, like a calm lake. Her soft, light-colored hair is fine as silk, making her look like a playful little doll.
There are times when Tu Ti is so full of joy, babbling in her adorable baby language, making everyone laugh. Once, she grabbed her mom's lipstick and smeared it all over her face. She looked like a funny little clown. At her age, Tu Ti is just learning to speak and walk, so she imitates everyone. If anyone teaches her to say "ah," she happily repeats it. Though she can't speak clearly yet, her mom often helps translate for others. All day long, she says "grandmother, grandmother" or "mom, mom" without getting tired. When she sees me visiting, Aunt Thanh says, "Tu Ti, be good and say hello to your sister!" and she babbles, "hello sister." Her words are so sweet and funny.
Tu Ti is very determined to learn how to walk. She takes wobbly steps, stopping frequently, clapping her tiny hands and saying, "Mom... mom... Hoo... hoo..." asking for praise for her little achievements. When her mom bought her new shoes, Tu Ti was thrilled, and insisted on wearing them to practice walking. The shoes make cute "tictic" sounds as she walks, which is so charming. Though her steps are not yet steady, she doesn't want anyone to hold her hand. She prefers to walk alone, stumbling but never giving up. When she reaches stairs, she sits down, crawls up one step, stands up, and continues walking. Once she starts running and giggling, everyone just wants to hug her because she's so adorable.
I really adore Tu Ti. Whenever Aunt Thanh takes her somewhere for a day or two, I feel sad and miss her already. I long for her tiny, wobbly steps, her chirping voice like a bird trying to sing, and her little smile that is so endearing. I just wish she could stay by my side, and I could play with her all day. I always hope that Tu Ti grows up quickly, stays healthy, and enjoys her meals.

3. The Adorable Little Princess
In my family, there is a lovely little princess named Ngoc Han. She is already 24 months old.
Ngoc Han is so chubby, she looks like a cute little teddy bear. Her hair is fine and sparse, like the soft grass swaying in the wind. Ngoc Han’s face is round and plump, giving her an irresistibly cute appearance. Her smooth, rosy skin shines like a little angel. Her large, dark eyes sparkle with intelligence, framed by long, curly eyelashes. They are so captivating, reflecting the innocence and purity of a child.
Her nose is slightly flat, which makes her even more endearing! She has rosy, dimpled cheeks that puff out like two small tomatoes, making everyone around her want to pinch them. On her plump little lips, a smile always shines through, just like a fresh flower blooming. When she smiles, she shows off five pearly white teeth. Her chubby little hands are always clenched into tiny fists, wriggling around like worms. Her mother has even put a beautiful silver bracelet on her wrist, sparkling in the light.
At home, she’s always chattering away. Not only is this little princess adorable, but she's also very mischievous. Whenever she's displeased or teased, she pretends to cry, burying her face in her pillow, waiting for everyone to come by before she looks up, making it so amusing! When she’s learning to walk, her mom and grandma have to support her, or she’ll fall. Ngoc Han takes a few wobbly steps and then insists on crawling again. When it's time to eat, she tries to feed herself with a spoon, but halfway through, this little rascal throws the spoon down and crawls off to play.
Each time she eats, she chews loudly, which is so cute! During those times, Ngoc Han spreads her legs wide, hugging the entire food tray. She’s also learning to draw, but whenever she starts drawing, she makes some scribbles that are quite funny. When that happens, Ngoc Han thinks I’m criticizing her and throws a tantrum, demanding to see her mom. Her eyes look so adorable when she pouts! She really loves watching cartoons. Every time she gets to watch, she cheers with excitement.
I absolutely adore Ngoc Han, this sweet little princess who brings so much joy to my home.

4. My Cute Little Sister
In my family, there are two siblings, I am the older one, and my younger sister is just learning to speak and walk. Since the arrival of this new family member, our home has become much happier, especially when the baby started taking her first wobbly steps and uttering her adorable baby talk.
My sister is affectionately called ‘Bong’ by everyone. She’s over a year old now and has the same smooth, fair skin as our mother, giving her a soft, rosy glow. Her chubby cheeks make her look incredibly sweet. Every time someone touches her cheeks or kisses them, she bursts out laughing. When she spots something new or beautiful, her large, round, dark eyes widen in fascination, sparkling like two shiny seeds, without even blinking. Her little lips are always pursed, and whenever she smiles, showing off her tiny white baby teeth, it’s simply heart-melting.
Today, Grandma dressed Bong in a pink dress, and she looked even more beautiful, like a little doll. Bong keeps trying to grab onto objects to help her stand and practice walking. Once she stands up, she lets go confidently, taking a few steps before falling. But she never cries when she falls; instead, she giggles with joy. As she’s learning to walk and talk, she often imitates her older siblings, copying their movements and even saying little words in the cutest way. Though she’s a girl, she’s also very playful, always trying to make us do what she wants, and crying when she doesn’t get her way.
Even though she’s still young, Bong is really clever. When asked the names of people around her, she answers correctly. Whenever we’re preparing to go out, she already knows to grab her hat, coat, and scarf, ready to go. Everyone in the family adores her, and she brings so much joy into our home. I will make sure to help take care of her, so when she grows up, she’ll be not only beautiful but also smart, and I’ll have a wonderful friend in my little sister.

5. Everyone Loves Baby Tý
It feels like just yesterday when my mother gave birth to my little sister, so tiny and red, only able to lie there and cry. Now, little Tý has turned one—an age full of milestones like learning to talk and walk, and she is simply adorable.
Baby Tý is so chubby and cute. Her skin is fair and smooth, and it feels so soft to the touch. Her hair is fine and soft, like silk, and neatly trimmed by our mother. Her face is round and plump, with her cheeks always puffed up. Every time she smiles, her cheeks glow with a rosy tint. When she grins, her innocent eyes squint and her small mouth opens wide to reveal her tiny, white baby teeth, making her look even more precious.
Tý is incredibly active and never stays still. Her little hands are always exploring, touching this and that, and putting everything into her mouth, as if she is discovering the world around her. When she wants something that is out of reach, instead of crawling, she can push herself up, grabbing onto walls, tables, and chairs to walk along and get what she wants. One time, she lost her grip and fell, her face full of confusion as to why it happened, and she cried so pitifully.
To help her learn to walk without holding onto anything, our mother uses her favorite toy to encourage her to walk towards it. Tý began to take wobbly steps, her arms flailing to the sides, looking like a circus performer walking on a tightrope. The whole family cheered and clapped for her first steps, and this made her even more excited to keep walking. After every short distance, she would stop, clap her little hands together, and say “mom... mom... hoo... hoo...” asking us to clap and cheer for her achievements.
Tý is also starting to talk, and although she can only say a few words, the ones she says most clearly are “grandma,” “dad,” and “yum... yum...”. When she hears anyone speak, she tries to repeat what they say. Her little voice often makes us laugh, which makes her stop and look at us confused for a moment, before she bursts into giggles with us.
Tý brings so much joy to our family, and we all adore her. I can’t wait for her to grow up so that she and I can chat, run around, and play together.

6. The Family's Little Angel
Today, our family is happier than usual because little Bin came back home to visit. Bin is my sister's daughter, and every weekend, her mom brings her to our grandparents' house. Whenever Bin visits, the whole family feels more lively, especially since she just turned one and is learning to walk and talk. With a new little member, we all play with her, and the atmosphere is always filled with laughter.
Bin is just over a year old now. She has fair skin, rosy cheeks, and a big smile that makes everyone who sees her want to kiss her. At those moments, Bin cuddles up to her grandma and smiles shyly. Her hair is long and styled into two small braids on her head, making her look even more adorable. As she moves around, the braids sway with her. Her hair is soft and slightly golden, and it's incredibly smooth to the touch.
At her age, Bin has started getting her baby teeth and can eat soft foods. Whenever she smiles, her two tiny, white front teeth shine brightly. As she's teething, Bin loves eating cookies and chips. Whenever she sees her aunt or grandma holding a cookie, she crosses her arms and says 'Ah!' loudly as if telling her grandma, 'I want some too.' Once she has a cookie in hand, she can happily sit and play with her clay or pretend toys for hours without disturbing anyone.
Bin's favorite thing is watching TV commercials and playing with toys alongside her friends or siblings. When she plays with others, she enjoys organizing her toys without asking for help. Afterward, we talk to her and help her understand what the adults are saying. Thanks to this, she has started saying short words like 'dad,' 'mom,' and 'aunt.' Whenever we hear her cute baby talk, everyone laughs because she sounds so endearing. At those moments, Bin giggles along with us, enjoying the laughter.
Bin has also started walking not long ago. She loves to move around the house and outside. Each step she takes is slow and careful, and sometimes she almost falls. But her mom and grandma are always there to catch her, so she feels safe and keeps trying. One day, she fell while walking outside, but instead of crying, she got up on her own.
Thanks to this, Bin has become quite fast at walking. After just a few months, she can walk around the yard with ease, though she still needs someone to help her when climbing stairs. Every afternoon, Bin walks with her grandma around the village path or visits the neighbors to play with their kids. She loves these walks and tries to go as many places as possible. There are even days when her mom calls her to come home for a meal, but Bin refuses to leave. On those days, her mom gives her a gentle nudge to come back, promising cookies and playtime. Bin happily follows, ready for the next adventure.
Bin is the little angel of our family. The more I play with her every day, the more I fall in love with her. Unlike other babies, Bin never cries much and always sleeps peacefully after a full meal. Every time this happens, I lean down and kiss her soft cheeks. I love Bin so much and hope she can stay with us for more days of fun and laughter.

7. A family with children is a family full of joy
Every Saturday, I feel an excited anticipation, eagerly waiting for Sunday. On Sundays, I get to spend the whole day at my grandmother's house, playing with my baby cousin Bo, the youngest daughter of my aunt. I never get bored of playing with her because she's incredibly adorable and full of charm.
Bo is two years old now. She stands up to my waist, with a chubby figure. Her long hair is braided into two cute pigtails that are just as sweet as she is. Her round face, bright and radiant, is highlighted by her jet-black eyes that sparkle like two shiny seeds, with long, fluttering eyelashes, reminiscent of the elegant actresses in traditional theater. Her tiny nose and delicate, slightly lifted chin are paired perfectly with her small lips, which are tinted pink, as if painted with lipstick, and below is a charming double chin.
Her fair, rosy skin, chubby little wrists and ankles are irresistible, and I can't help but hug and kiss her endlessly. Watching her learn to walk is such a joy. Her tiny hands, with little chubby fingers, clutch my hand tightly. After a few wobbly steps, she lets go and stumbles, falling flat on the ground. When everyone laughs, she bursts into tears. But with encouragement and support, she stands up again and continues walking as if nothing happened.
Bo can already say a lot of one- and two-syllable words like 'dad,' 'sister,' 'play,' and 'bouncy ball.' Some of the babbling she makes brings so much happiness to the whole family. She eats and sleeps very well, at the right times and hours. A family with children is a family full of joy and happiness. I will visit Bo often. In the future, I will guide her with what I've learned at school and teach her the right things in life.

8. Mai, the Neighbor's Baby
Mai is the little girl who lives next door to my family.
The other day, I visited Mai for the first time. From the moment I laid eyes on her, I instantly liked her. Mai is so tiny, comfortably nestled in a wooden cradle. Her skin is fair and soft to the touch, like jelly. She's chubby, with rolls on her neck, arms, and legs. Her face is round and her cheeks are plump, with her lips puckered in a little pout as if she's hungry. Mai's eyes are round and dark, like two precious pearls. She doesn't have much hair yet, just a little on top of her head, but her mother has already placed a pink bow headband on her to make her even cuter.
Since she's still so young, Mai only wears a diaper and a purple bib. When she saw me approach, she focused intently on me, but really, she was looking at the rattle I was holding. When she saw me shake the rattle, she immediately burst into giggles, raising her little arms to reach for it and making a few sounds as if asking to hold the toy. Mai is very well-behaved, even though she couldn't get the toy, she didn't cry. She just opened her big eyes, full of tears, which made me want to give it to her.
When I went back home, I couldn't stop thinking about how innocent and lively Mai was. She is truly adorable. I hope Mai will grow up healthy, eat well, and soon be able to play outside with me.

9. My Tam, the Little Angel of the Family
Life around us becomes much more joyful and less dull with the sounds and laughter of adorable little children. I have a little sister who is at the stage of learning to walk and talk, and she is the one I love most in my family.
Her name is My Tam, and she just turned one year old. My Tam is a cute and somewhat mischievous little girl. She has silky black hair, always flowing like a princess's, and a chubby face with round cheeks and fair skin that make everyone want to pinch her. Her big, dark, sparkling eyes are like shiny marbles, and her small, cute nose and rosy lips reveal a charming smile with her incomplete baby teeth showing. Every day, My Tam practices talking and walking, and I get to witness the precious moments of this little one.
When learning to walk, her wobbly little steps needed the help of our parents, and slowly, she could manage a few short steps on her own. Watching her, with her chubby body swaying like a little toy, grinning proudly, made the whole family happy. Even when she stumbled and fell flat on the ground, encouragement from those around her helped her get up and keep going. She has worked so hard to walk, and now, she can walk a longer distance without support. My Tam is truly amazing!
But it wasn't just walking; when My Tam started talking, she brought so much laughter to our family. In the beginning, she learned simple words like 'dad,' 'mom,' 'sister,' and her high-pitched voice was just adorable! As she learned more, she began repeating longer phrases, causing everyone to burst into laughter. Now, she can almost fluently say daily conversational phrases, making everyone proud and joyful.
Witnessing these precious moments of My Tam learning to talk and walk reminds me of my own childhood, when I too had such innocent and adorable moments. I hope that she will continue to grow stronger and more articulate, so we can chat and play together in the future.

10. Childhood, a Fairy Tale
Since little Ngoc came into our lives, the whole family has been so much happier. Ngoc is the daughter of my second sister. She just turned twelve months old, an age full of first words and steps. She looks absolutely adorable.
Ngoc has a round face with smooth, fair skin like peeled egg whites. Her cheeks are plump and soft, and anyone who sees her just wants to kiss her. Her big, dark eyes resemble two shiny black grapes. When Ngoc takes her first wobbly steps, the whole family cheers, and she grins widely, showing her little baby teeth. Hearing the encouraging words from our mom, “Good girl, good girl...”, she steps faster, her little body swaying like a toy.
Ngoc usually wears a pink dress, with matching pink socks and a pink bow in her hair, so everyone lovingly calls her “the pink girl.” Every time she sees our mom come home, she calls out “mom... mom...” in a way that’s still unclear. Sometimes, her cute mispronunciations make everyone laugh. She loves watching cartoons and listening to music. Whenever a children’s music show comes on TV, she claps her hands and dances along.
People say, “Childhood is a magical time.” And it’s true, from her first words, steps, eating, and playing, Ngoc embodies the pure innocence of childhood. She enjoys playing with dolls and sometimes even sleeps hugging one. Though she’s a bit lazy with eating and still breastfeeds, she falls asleep quickly. Every time she sleeps, her peaceful face, resembling a soft crescent moon, is simply precious. Every afternoon or evening, when my mom holds her and sings her to sleep, she falls into a deep, restful sleep.
Ngoc is the joy of our family, and everyone adores her. As for me, I can’t wait for her to grow up so we can go to school together and watch cartoons together.

11. Adorable Little Bong
“Little Bong, with rosy cheeks...” This is the sweet, high-pitched voice of little Bong, my niece who calls me aunt. She’s at that age where she’s learning to speak and walk, looking incredibly cute and endearing.
Little Bong is small and chubby, irresistibly cute. She has fair, soft skin, showing tiny veins on her face. When you look at her, you can’t help but want to hug her and kiss her plump, smooth cheeks. Her head is small and round like a coconut. Her black, curly hair and large, dark eyes are adorable. Bong has a slightly high nose and a sweet, pouting mouth. Her long, curved eyebrows and rosy lips look as if someone applied lipstick.
Her little arms are round, resembling smooth, plump threads. Her hands and feet, with their tiny, chubby fingers and toes, are just too cute. I love holding her tiny, delicate hands and feeling the soft, comforting touch against my cheek when I carry her. Even though she’s not yet steady on her feet, she loves to run around and sometimes insists on playing hopscotch with me. When my mom returns from the market, Bong often runs to greet her, wobbling on her unsteady legs, clapping her hands in excitement and calling out for her mom. She loves wearing pink dresses and especially enjoys being complimented.
Bong also loves singing. My friends come over and teach her songs, and she quickly picks them up. Watching her sing with her charming little mouth, her unsteady legs moving, makes my heart melt. Every time she sits in the car, she calls out “i…o, i…o,” and I just want to pinch her cute little cheeks.
Bong is the joy of our family. When she’s not around for even a short time, our home feels so quiet. Every time I come home from school, I run to find her. I can’t wait for her to grow up so I can take her to school with me.

12. Children Are Like Buds on a Branch
Recently, our little home has been filled with laughter as Auntie came to visit, bringing along little Bin, her one-year-old son. Bin is just starting to walk and talk, and he’s absolutely adorable.
At just fifteen months old, Bin’s skin is as soft and pink as a petal. His round face, with large, sparkling dark eyes, is simply precious. His lips are puckered like a tiny rosebud, and his smile shines brightly, making everyone want to pinch his cheeks. Bin’s head is perfectly round, with soft, smooth hair that has a slight golden-brown tint. His arms and legs are plump and fair.
Today, he’s dressed in a blue and white striped t-shirt and navy shorts with straps, looking like a tiny sailor. But this sailor isn’t on a ship; he’s just learning to walk and babble. Bin can’t walk very far yet—he usually manages only a few steps before sitting down or tumbling into his mother’s arms, laughing joyfully. Despite this, he insists on walking on his own, not allowing anyone to hold his hand. He clings to his mother’s hands to steady himself, then pulls away, eager to walk alone.
Each step he takes, his chubby little feet pattering on the floor, is accompanied by his little hands reaching out, moving forward with determination. After managing a few steps, he plops down and calls out loudly, “Ma ma… ma ma.” His “Ba” is the clearest word he speaks, though other words are still a little unclear. When he’s hungry, he says “Măm măm,” which sounds incredibly cute. He also knows how to ask to be carried to the garden, running into my arms, one hand touching my face, the other gently tapping my shoulder, saying, “Go, go, go…” Auntie tried teaching him to say “sister,” but he can only say “xi,” making the whole family laugh.
Bin naps twice a day. After waking, his mother feeds him and he plays for a while. He enjoys playing with his toy doll and shaking a rattle. When he’s had enough, he slides off the bed, gripping the edge as he starts to walk again. I let him walk on his own, standing a bit ahead of him, clapping and calling to him. He lets go of the bed and takes a few fast steps before rushing into my arms. I clap enthusiastically and pick him up, kissing his chubby cheeks. He giggles joyfully, which is just too cute.
Auntie often feeds Bin porridge with meat and vegetables. When he sees the bowl, he claps his hands and says “măm,” making everyone laugh. I love Bin so much and enjoy playing with him. I kiss his cheeks, making him giggle, and help Auntie feed him and play with him. Bin is very well-behaved, and when he’s done playing, he asks to be carried to bed. He doesn’t want to be rocked in a hammock—he just lies down and falls into a light sleep. It’s amazing how he doesn’t call for his mom, as Auntie has trained him to be independent, which makes it easier for her to work.
As Uncle Ho once wrote, “Children are like buds on a branch—if they eat, sleep, and learn, they are well-behaved.” Bin is indeed a little rosebud that the whole family loves, cherishes, and cares for. After spending a week with us, Auntie returned to the city, and we all missed Bin terribly.
