1. Tribute to Fallen Heroes on July 27 (No. 3)
War has passed, and the country is at peace, but the pain and loss left by the war are irreplaceable. We can only honor those who have fallen or were injured in battle with immense gratitude and respect. Every year, on July 27, people across the nation remember the soldiers who selflessly fought for the happiness of the people and the future of the country.
The history of Vietnam places generations of youth in a special role: fighting and defeating the most violent enemies of the 20th century. In response to the call of the Fatherland, millions of our nation's youth, most of whom were young men and women, sacrificed their youth and lives for the homeland. Some of them fell on the battlefield, while others returned bearing the scars of war. Millions of martyrs' families, wives waiting for their husbands, and mothers eagerly awaiting their children who would never come back...
On small slopes, the shade of pine trees casts over the neat rows of graves, some marked with names, birth years, and hometowns, others with no identification. These heroes rest here, having fallen gloriously on the battlefield...
Lighting a fragrant incense stick, tears welled up as I placed it on their small, neat graves, mourning their sacrifice. These days, their graves receive fresh flowers, candles, and groups of visitors paying their respects, but how can this ever compensate for the youth they gave to this country!
This harsh land is the final resting place of over XX fallen heroes from all corners of the country, not to mention XX other martyrs' cemeteries across various communes and districts. Among them are those whose names will forever remain unknown, perhaps their names have merged with the sacred words 'Fatherland'!
We are grateful for these days, which allow us to bow in respect to the spirits of these fallen heroes, so that each of us can reflect on our own lives and future generations can be proud of the legacy left by our ancestors, using that pride as motivation to strive for the development of our homeland.
For war is not a joke, as composer Pham Minh Tuan wrote in his timeless song 'Spring'. One only appreciates the value of sunny days after enduring rainy ones, just as we only understand the worth of peace after experiencing the pain and loss of war.
Such sacrifices remind future generations to continue the legacy of defending our sacred land against foreign invaders, so that we will never be ashamed before the spirits of the fallen heroes. As President Ho Chi Minh said, 'The Hung Kings laid the foundation of the nation. We, their descendants, must work together to protect it.'
The war has caused many sons of the soil to never return. Some separations have become part of history, and many of them are still missing. Even the living soldiers, carrying the scars of battle, never faltered, contributing their strength to building the homeland.

2. Tribute to the Heroes and Martyrs on July 27 (Issue 4)
“I grew up in a country no longer divided into North and South, never knowing what war was like, only hearing of it in my father's stories…”
This may seem like a casual line from a song I often hear, but it seems to encapsulate the experience of an entire generation. Why? Because we did not witness the brutality of war, the hardship of soldiers who were forced to fight, or the suffering of the people left behind. We never felt the pain of mothers who lost their children, nor the pride and glory of a nation celebrating its liberation and reunification, since we were not born yet!
We are the lucky ones who get to participate in this meaningful commemoration today, despite many of us carrying the scars, diseases, and losses left by the war, or suffering the pain caused by the absence of our loved ones. We feel the gratitude and respect from the Party, State, and people, who adhere to the principles of “Drinking water, remembering the source” and “Paying back the debt of gratitude” as taught by President Ho Chi Minh: “We will forever be grateful to the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of our nation.” The wounded soldiers and veterans who gave their blood, sweat, and strength for the country will always be remembered.
Though the war is long over, its aftereffects persist. They remain with each person, family, friend, and relative of the wounded soldiers and martyrs. There are mothers without children, wives without husbands, and vast cemeteries like those in Truong Son, along with countless villages without men, military hospitals, and many children born deformed due to the war. These are all evidence of the atrocities of war, the sorrow that echoes throughout the land. Beyond the losses and sacrifices that soldiers made on the battlefield, the aftermath is still visible in the lasting effects on their bodies and the generations that follow. These include victims of Agent Orange and the children born with war-induced disabilities. The pain lingers, yet many families and descendants still carry this weight. Realizing this, we are filled with sympathy and share the burden, while also harboring deep hatred for the enemy that caused this suffering.
“When eating fruit, remember the one who planted the tree,” “Drinking water, remembering the source” are ancient values of compassion and humanity that have been passed down through generations in Vietnam. These traditions continue to be honored today, with President Ho Chi Minh being the most exemplary figure of all.
As we approach the anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, every Vietnamese person will express their gratitude differently, but all share one goal: to honor those who dedicated their lives to securing our peace and independence. We trust and resolve to preserve that freedom. As young people, we must stay true to Marxism-Leninism, uphold the thoughts of Ho Chi Minh, and remain loyal to the communist ideals that the Party and President Ho Chi Minh chose. We must firmly follow the Party and State's guidelines and policies, dedicate ourselves to learning, training, working, and contributing our intellect, strength, and talents to the nation's rapid, strong, and sustainable development, deserving of the sacrifices and expectations of the heroes, martyrs, and generations before us. We must be dynamic and creative, always taking the lead in fulfilling the tasks of our units, embodying the spirit of “creative youth.” We support each other in our work and daily lives, helping one another progress.
Today’s youth can be proud of the previous generation. Let us follow the example of the fallen heroes, those who devoted their lives to the nation, by making tangible contributions and helping to build our country into an even greater, more beautiful place, side by side with the world’s most powerful nations, as President Ho Chi Minh once instructed.

3. Tribute to the Heroes and Martyrs on July 27 (Issue 5)
Over half a century, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, our people have risen up in unity, determined to fulfill the great call of President Ho Chi Minh: "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom", "We would rather sacrifice everything than allow our country to be lost, than to live in slavery." Our people have overcome countless hardships, obstacles, and sacrifices to defeat invading forces, win independence, and unify the nation. To achieve this monumental victory, millions of soldiers and citizens fought and heroically perished on the front lines. Along with the people nationwide, our province sent over ... thousand young men to the battlefield to defend the homeland...
In order to repay this immense sacrifice, continuing and enhancing the principle of "Drinking water, remembering the source" taught by our ancestors, over the years, our province, along with the entire nation, has worked tirelessly to improve the material and spiritual lives of war invalids, martyrs' families, Vietnamese heroic mothers, and people who contributed to the revolution. Although our province still faces significant economic challenges, the Party and the people here, with deep affection and responsibility, have consistently carried out meaningful humanitarian activities across all regions of the province. These include setting up gratitude funds, caring for lonely martyrs' parents, orphaned children of martyrs, providing savings books for families, and caring for struggling wounded soldiers and veterans. It would be impossible to list all the ways the Party and people in our province have shown gratitude to the veterans, martyrs, and revolutionaries over the years.
Our country is entering a new era of development, an era focused on accelerating industrialization and modernization, building a prosperous society with a strong nation, democratic, fair, and civilized, aiming for the successful construction of socialism. This goal reflects the aspirations of the entire people, and thus, more than ever, caring for wounded soldiers, martyrs' families, and those who contributed to the revolution is both the responsibility of the Party and State and the emotional duty of every citizen. Despite the considerable efforts in recent years to care for war invalids and martyrs' families, there is still much more to be done.
Once again, we express our profound gratitude to the wounded soldiers, Vietnamese heroic mothers, martyrs' families, and those who contributed to the revolution. We warmly commend the efforts of all sectors, localities, social organizations, and individuals who have contributed to improving the material and spiritual well-being of the wounded, veterans, and martyrs' families. We hope that each person, every organization, and every social entity will continue to do their best in supporting the care of war invalids, martyrs, and those who contributed to our revolutionary cause, seeing this as both a responsibility and an honor, as a way to honor the invaluable sacrifices made for the liberation of our nation and the defense of Vietnam.

4. Tribute to the Heroes and Martyrs on July 27 (Issue 6)
Inheriting the passionate patriotism and indomitable spirit of struggle throughout thousands of years of history, defending our nation, through extremely arduous and fierce struggles for independence, freedom, and national unity, and for socialism, under the leadership of the Party for over 85 years, our country and people have endured immense hardships and sacrifices. Millions of our brave sons and daughters sacrificed their lives on battlefields, while thousands of wounded soldiers left parts of their bodies behind to ensure we live in the freedom, peace, and prosperity we enjoy today.
Truly, our beloved homeland gave birth to those who fought and sacrificed when their country called. As President Ho Chi Minh rightly affirmed: “The blood of these martyrs has made the revolutionary flag shine even brighter. Their heroic sacrifices have caused our Vietnamese soil to blossom with independence and freedom.” These brave men and women gave their lives for our homeland, leaving behind immense sorrow for their families, parents, spouses, and children who would never see their loved ones again. This loss is immeasurable, irreplaceable. Yet, it is through their sacrifice that our homeland shines, sprouting the green shoots of peace and hope. Their spirit will live forever in our land, forever in the love of our people. This is the immortality of their legacy, and no force in the world can ever extinguish it. The Party and the people of XX district will forever remember their sacrifice with deep gratitude.Today, our nation is completely unified, and our people are entirely free. We are now focused on building a stronger and more prosperous country, fulfilling the dreams of President Ho Chi Minh. Standing before the spirits of the martyrs, on behalf of the District Party Committee, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the district, we pledge: The generations of cadres, party members, and people in this district will always take pride and vow to live, fight, work, and study following the example of our beloved President Ho Chi Minh. At the same time, we will continue to promote the fine traditions of our homeland and honor the glorious legacy of those who came before us. We will continue to care for, visit, and assist the families of those who contributed to the revolution, including wounded soldiers, martyrs' families, and Vietnamese heroic mothers, helping them overcome difficulties and reintegrate into life, building a better, more prosperous community together.
Let us forever remember the great sacrifice of our martyrs. We wish good health to the distinguished representatives and comrades present here today. We sincerely thank you.

5. Tribute to the Heroes and Martyrs on July 27 (Issue 7)
The historic Spring Victory of 1975 solidified the strength of the great unity of the Vietnamese people in the face of French colonialism and American imperialism, leading the Vietnamese nation from a long period of suffering and enslavement towards liberation, completely freeing the South, uniting the country, and laying the foundation for the peaceful development of the socialist path.
Through two great wars to defend the nation, under the leadership of the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, the entire Vietnamese nation marched to battle. Millions of young and talented citizens from all corners of the country joined together in a common trench to fight against the French and American invaders for the sacred truth of "Independence and freedom" for the nation.
The historical victory of Dien Bien Phu remains an eternal anthem, engraved in the history of our nation with golden pages of glory.
After 56 days and nights of relentless and heroic combat, our forces achieved the legendary Dien Bien Phu victory, which echoed around the world and shook the earth. Decades may pass, but the contributions and sacrifices of our martyrs will forever be etched into the heroic history of our people and army as an undying song...
When the North was liberated, the country was divided. The whole nation, alongside the South, continued to resist the brutal and tyrannical actions of the American imperialists.
How could we forget the "steadfast and loyal" South, a "South with courage and resilience"?
"...Blood not yet dried, more blood to shed
Oh South, with your thousand sufferings
Twenty years without leaving the gun
Advancing first and overcoming all challenges".
All for the beloved South, the North stood ready to join the frontlines against the Americans.
"Oh North, with burdens on your shoulders
Carrying the whole country across distant paths
Splitting the Truong Son range to save the nation
With hearts full of hope, our future shines bright".
In line with the determination of the entire nation, the children of Hung Yen have carried forward the courageous tradition of their cultural and revolutionary homeland, always ready to volunteer and fight to defend the unity of the country. Throughout the long struggle against the French and the Americans, countless sons and daughters of Hung Yen, particularly the youth, have not hesitated to give their blood, youth, and lives for the ultimate victory of our nation, becoming the most beautiful flowers of their time.
Some have returned to rest on their homeland, while many martyrs sleep in various parts of the country. These sites are reminders of the historical atrocities committed by the French colonialists, American imperialists, and their traitorous allies against our people. Their grand contributions and sacrifices illuminate the revolutionary spirit of the Vietnamese people in the era of Ho Chi Minh, in the pursuit of independence, freedom, and socialism.
With unwavering determination to drive forward our homeland’s development on the path chosen by the Party and Uncle Ho — "National independence and socialism" — today, as we commemorate XX years of Martyrs' and Veterans' Day, the youth of the province gather here to offer candles, incense, and flowers as a tribute to the martyrs, expressing profound gratitude to the generations that selflessly gave their lives for the nation's independence and the people's happiness. This is a moment for us to reflect on our responsibility towards our homeland, motivating each of us to make meaningful contributions to the development of our beautiful, peaceful Vietnam that our forebears envisioned.
Before the sacred spirits of our martyrs, we respectfully bow, offering fresh flowers and burning incense, expressing the heartfelt gratitude of today's youth for those who sacrificed their blood, youth, and lives for our nation’s freedom. It is they who wrote the glorious chapters of history, lighting the way for us to follow in their footsteps. The blood of our martyrs has enriched the color of our national flag, giving life to our homeland’s glorious soil, now eternally belonging to them, the heroes and martyrs.
We pledge to continue their glorious tradition, to remain loyal to the ideals of the Communist Party of Vietnam, forever following the path laid out by the Party, Uncle Ho, and the people. We pledge to unite, overcoming hardship and striving to "Cultivate virtue, hone talent", actively participating in patriotic movements, volunteering to build and protect the socialist Vietnamese nation. We stand ready to go wherever needed, doing whatever is necessary whenever the country and people call.
In this sacred and emotional moment, we vow to carry on the heroic and unyielding spirit of the past generations, diligently studying, training, and working, fostering a spirit of intellect and creativity. We actively engage in patriotic movements, volunteer to build and protect the nation, and contribute to the successful realization of economic and social development goals, making our homeland ever more prosperous and civilized.

6. An article honoring the fallen heroes on July 27th (No. 8)
During these significant March days, the youth across the country are actively celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the 31st anniversary of the complete liberation of Binh Long with a variety of vibrant activities. Today's youth reflect on and honor the glorious past of their ancestors with admiration, deep respect, and profound gratitude.
Our Vietnam forever remembers the sacrifices of the fallen heroes who gave their lives to build this beautiful land. Their victories stand as bright examples for today’s youth to learn from and cherish, forever etched in the pages of history.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to the veterans, the families who contributed to the revolution, and the heroic Vietnamese Mothers. We pledge to do everything within our power to repay the debt to those who sacrificed their blood and lives for the country.
The war has passed, time has healed the wounds of the body, and the painful past of our nation has given way to joy and happiness. Yet, on this land, the suffering remains for the children affected by Agent Orange and for the soldiers who returned with parts of their bodies left on the battlefield. The heroic legacy is still deeply engraved in the memories of all, but how can we ever recount the full extent of the valiant victories of those who brought honor to our motherland Vietnam?
In the face of bombs and bullets, our heroes fought with unwavering courage, ready to give their lives for the survival of the country, epitomizing the spirit of Lạc and Hồng descendants.
The country is at peace, and comrades, friends of the fallen have returned to the embrace of their loved ones, while they, the heroes, remain forever in the embrace of the motherland. The loved ones of these fallen soldiers never saw them return, and the tears of their mothers can no longer fall for their sons.
They rest in rows of upright gravestones, much like the soldiers who once marched to battle. But how many of them have their names known to history? How many gravestones lack even a photo or a recognition of their heroic deeds? The youth of today and tomorrow will forever remember their contributions as a source of strength and belief, inspiring love and gratitude for the sacrifices they made.
Looking back at history, the flow of time binds together the countless struggles our nation has endured through hundreds of years of sacrifice and hardship, rising up in unison to break the chains of slavery and regain independence and freedom. The sacrifices and heroic deeds of these fallen heroes will forever be the pride of all Vietnamese people, eternally etched in the golden pages of history and serving as an eternal foundation for future generations.
Today, at this solemn place, we proudly conduct the ceremony to induct the "Youth Union members celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Union's founding," where the youth will feel the sacredness and importance of this moment as they join the ranks of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Before the spirits of the fallen heroes, we pledge to live worthy of the legacy of our beloved Uncle Ho, deserving of the sacrifices made by our comrades and countrymen.
We offer an additional incense and place a white lily in honor of the fallen heroes, the unyielding children who brought glory to our brave motherland. Our nation, people, Party, and State will forever honor the sacrifices of these heroes, pledging to follow the path laid out by the Party and Uncle Ho, deserving of their immense sacrifice. Eternal glory belongs to the fallen heroes, and the phrase "Live to fight, die in glory" will forever illuminate today’s memorial.
We respectfully bow for a moment of silence to honor the fallen heroes. The soul-stirring music and scent of incense seem to warm the spirits of those who have passed.

7. An article honoring the fallen heroes on July 27th (No. 9)
Vietnam is a country in the eye of the storm, with a history of unyielding resistance against foreign invaders. The people of Vietnam, as beautiful as roses and as resilient as steel, are always ready to sacrifice their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation. These very people have written the brightest epic of heroism in the struggle against French colonialism and American imperialism.
Leaving the warm embrace of their families, these warriors shouldered the immense responsibility of defending the nation, bidding farewell to their loved ones to head to the front lines, where the line between life and death was razor-thin. Yet, they rose above it all. When the war could no longer afford to compromise, they answered the call to arms by President Ho Chi Minh, and the entire nation stood together.
On the front lines, they fought tirelessly, but in the silence between battles, there was a bond that transcended mere comradeship. Strangers became close friends, united by shared hardships and a common cause.
Their brotherhood is deeply moving, and this beauty is immortalized in the timeless poem "Comrades" by poet Chính Hữu:
"Your shirt torn at the shoulders, my pants patched in places
We smile through the biting cold, barefooted
We hold each other's hands, out of love."
Their heroism is also reflected in their dignified stance in the face of enemy forces. In their hearts burned revolutionary fervor and an unyielding spirit of resistance. Behind the front lines, their mothers and wives waited patiently, concealing their pain when news came that these warriors would never return. Though we know that war brings loss and sacrifice, physical wounds may heal, but the wounds in the heart remain forever.
Now, as the war has receded into the past, every inch of our homeland bears the souls and bodies of these heroes, allowing us, the youth of Vietnam, to live in peace, prosperity, and happiness. They are the ones who helped lift the nation to greater heights, like background voices supporting the main melody. A faraway star glistens with tears, a newborn's smile, a green mountain range, and a nameless grave in the vastness — these are the symbols of our country. We wish to know the name of the fallen hero who contributed to the creation of this homeland. Ten thousand incense offerings, ten thousand comrades, scattered across the rugged terrain of Truong Son, and ten thousand hopes to reunite. Yes, these brave souls, who sacrificed for the peaceful life, the smiles of today’s children, have fallen so that the land may heal and the water may flow sweetly again.
We humbly offer a wreath of gratitude at the war cemetery on this breezy July 27th, as the flickering candles are lit to express our deepest appreciation to those who fought with all their might for our beloved Vietnam.
Today, as we study and play beneath the peaceful sky, we always remind ourselves to be grateful for the sacrifices made by our forebears and to strive to follow in their footsteps, cultivating both virtue and talent. We pledge to be good children, good students, loyal members of the Youth Union, and devoted grandchildren of Uncle Ho, worthy of the sacrifices of the fallen heroes.
We bow in reverence to these eternal souls, whose glory will never fade.

8. An article honoring the fallen heroes on July 27th (No. 10)
We were born in a time of peace, when the sounds of battle had faded, and the land was free from the shadow of foreign invaders. Our country now lies in calm, but beneath its soil rest the heroes of our nation. Every inch of this land holds the memory of the fierce history of war, a history that our ancestors bravely preserved. The earth has taken in the grief of war so that we can walk in peace. It welcomed our heroes back, allowing them to rest in eternal tranquility, where they can hear the wind, gaze at the vast blue sky, and see the white flowers of the ban tree bloom across the hills of Dien Bien.
All we need to do is close our eyes and listen... we can hear the voices of the land and the stories of the brave souls who gave their all for the country. These were young men and women, their hearts ablaze with love for their homeland, courageously stepping forward in response to the sacred call. They endured the hardships of war, living in caves, enduring relentless rains, surviving on rice and dried food, and carrying weapons and supplies to the front lines. They rebuilt roads and positioned artillery on hills to warn invaders. Their spirits were resolute, determined to secure the independence of the nation, fighting for a victory that would forever echo in history.
There are deaths that become immortal
Victory etched in the annals of history
The heroic spirit of the nation shines brightly
Resonating across the four corners of the earth
They rest here, in this cemetery, on the hills of Dien Bien, where the sun still shines peacefully on their shoulders and the white ban flowers continue to bloom beneath them – these immortal heroes!
The blood of our heroes has stained the red flag of the Fatherland, and the noble spirits of our ancestors continue to watch over our homeland.

9. The History of July 27th
July 27th was chosen as the War Invalids and Martyrs Day in Vietnam due to a significant historical event that recognized and honored those who sacrificed and contributed to the country.
- The National Assembly passed the War Invalids and Martyrs Law (July 27, 1947): On this day in 1947, the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam approved the War Invalids and Martyrs Law. This law set out policies and regulations for war invalids, martyrs, and their families, recognizing and honoring the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families in the struggle for independence and national defense.
- Commemoration and Gratitude: This day has become an official occasion for the whole nation to remember and honor the fallen heroes, those who died in the wars of resistance against foreign invaders and in battles to defend the country. Activities often include offering incense at martyrs' cemeteries, holding ceremonies, and workshops to reflect on the history and remember the contributions of the heroes.
July 27th is not only a time for remembrance but also for educating the younger generations about the patriotic tradition and the spirit of dedication and sacrifice for the nation's independence and freedom.
10. An article honoring the fallen heroes on July 27th (No. 1)
The war may have ended many years ago, but its consequences and lingering echoes remain profound and devastating, forever etched in the hearts and minds of each generation of Vietnamese people. As July 27th approaches, the day when the entire nation honors the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country, for independence and freedom, we remember their noble causes. They left us, having died with pride, and though the enemy's hand ravaged the land, it never could change the essence of the Vietnamese people. To drink from the river is to remember the source; this is a deeply ingrained virtue of our people, and the peace and independence we have today are due in large part to the sacrifices made by previous generations. Let us join together to pay tribute to our national heroes.
No one chooses how they die, no one desires death, and there is no death more meaningful than life. But when the nation is in danger, when the homeland, the legacy of our ancestors, and our families are threatened, the choice of death to ensure the nation’s survival is a glorious and noble one. Every body that falls, every piece of flesh that is lost, becomes a beacon that lights the path to build and protect the nation. These are golden words engraved in the history of the four thousand years of building and defending our nation.
The country may be at peace, but the threat of war has not entirely faded. Every day, forces of hostility and exiled reactionaries lurk, waiting to divide the country, while dangerous criminals wait for opportunities, and natural disasters still wreak havoc.
Understanding these immense sacrifices, President Ho Chi Minh wrote: "The blood of the martyrs has dyed the revolutionary flag even redder. Their sacrifices prepared the way for our country to bloom with independence and bear the fruit of freedom." Therefore, regarding "these loyal and noble children, the Government and the people must repay them in a worthy manner," he explained: "The nation and the people must show gratitude, and help these valiant children; everyone must constantly learn the courageous spirit of the martyrs to overcome all difficulties and complete the revolutionary mission they left behind."
"July 27th has entered the history of our country as a milestone reminding everyone of the national tradition of 'Drinking from the source, remembering the root,' and 'Eating fruit, remembering the one who planted the tree.'
For the nation, for the people, many sons and daughters of our people, including those as young as nineteen and twenty, left behind their personal happiness, books, and classrooms... ready to take up arms for the independence and freedom of our homeland.
To achieve the liberation and unification of the country, many sacrificed their lives or left a part of themselves on the battlefield. They lived and fought for the noble ideals of 'Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom,' and 'All for the nation's unity.'
I send my heartfelt gratitude to those who fought for independence and freedom, and for the peace we have in our country today. Living in peace, singing songs of joy, we will never forget the land beneath our feet, soaked in the sweat and blood of the heroes who came before us, and I vow to live up to the expectations of those who came before us.
The nation's sacred souls protect our land, ensuring peace, and I hope the graves of the martyrs who are still lost will be found and laid to rest. I wish all wounded soldiers a stable life and due recognition for the youth they sacrificed for the country. I wish all the mothers of Vietnam remain healthy. We cherish the value of peace today!
Every autumn that passes is a season of remembrance. July 27th becomes a day that the living must never forget. On the other hand, we must express our gratitude in a practical, effective, and regular way, considering what we do for the families of martyrs and war invalids as if we are doing it for the exemplary children who sacrificed for the nation, for us, and for the entire Vietnamese people. Each young person today must live up to the sacrifices of those who have passed and remind themselves through meaningful deeds for the land of the nation.

12. A tribute article to the fallen heroes on July 27th (No. 2)
In the month of July, the entire nation pauses to remember the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the peace and independence we enjoy today, and to honor those who returned home after enduring the horrors of war, leaving behind pieces of themselves to ensure the nation's safety and security. Although the war has receded, the image of these heroes lives on in the hearts of the people, in our generations today and those to come.
We are the fortunate ones who were born in peacetime, but through the accounts of history and the heroic pages of our past, we are forever proud of these martyrs. They gave their lives for the peace of the nation. Every visit to the memorial of the fallen heroes brings tears to our eyes, tears of remembrance for those who selflessly gave their all to protect our land. It is heartbreaking that their bodies are no longer whole on this earth, as pieces of them have merged with the earth, trees, and sky. It is heart-wrenching that the letters written hurriedly to their loved ones still await delivery, as their addresses remain unknown. Most of them knew death was inevitable, yet they remained optimistic, filled with love for life, because they were certain that their sacrifice would help protect the homeland and ensure a bright future for the nation.
Every year on July 27th, the entire Party, people, and armed forces of Vietnam come together to honor the fallen heroes, and we take pride in the ongoing development of efforts to care for war invalids and martyrs, inspired by the thoughts and leadership of President Ho Chi Minh.
On this day, people of all ages, from the north to the south, from the highlands to the plains, all focus their hearts and minds on the martyrs—those who gave their youth, the best years of their lives, for the country, for the future generations. History cannot fully capture the nobility of their sacrifices; only sincere gratitude can do them justice. Among them are young men and women who, despite their young age, put aside their personal happiness and offered their lives for the country. Many of them lie forever in the soil of their homeland, or left parts of themselves on the battlefield, sacrificing blood and flesh for noble ideals, as the heroic doctor, martyr, and writer Dang Thuy Tram once wrote: "Keep the spirit of a communist, as clear as crystal, as strong as diamond, and as bright as the boundless rays of trust..."
This is not only a day to remember the sacrifices of the fallen heroes and war invalids who fought to restore independence and freedom for the nation, but also an opportunity to educate the younger generation about the national tradition of "drinking from the source, remembering the root," and to make them understand the immense contributions of these martyrs and war veterans. Once again, I wish for the fallen heroes to rest peacefully, knowing that the nation will forever remember their sacrifices, and I hope their loved ones will soon find them and bring them home to their beloved homeland—one final journey they have not yet returned from.
Now that the war has faded into the past, every inch of our homeland holds the souls and bodies of these heroes, and today we, the young people of Vietnam, live in peace, prosperity, and happiness. We vow to continue on the path they chose, living, working, and studying with excellence to live up to their tremendous sacrifices.
