1. Happiness Will Find You When You Adopt the Right Attitude
Every human being born into this world carries with them countless beautiful things and desires to stand firm and live life to the fullest. When we finally grasp these things, the emotion we feel can simply be described as happiness. The significance of this simple word is profound, filled with many deep reflections for each person to consider.
It’s difficult to define happiness precisely, as it means something different for everyone based on their own experiences and perceptions. However, in general, happiness can be described as the emotional state that arises when a person achieves or receives something that satisfies their desires. It’s a simple concept, understandable for all.
However, life is not always smooth, just as human thoughts become increasingly complex. It’s easy to see why some people believe happiness lies in knowing when to stop and appreciate the precious moments in life, while others constantly chase after distant, unattainable dreams in search of true happiness.
Life is fair to all. Happiness comes to those who seek it, embrace it with an open heart, and clear mind. This pursuit is not a short-term affair but a lifelong journey. Hence, it doesn’t matter who we are or what circumstances we find ourselves in; what matters is that we can choose to live a happy life.
Happiness exists in many forms, and it’s often found in the simple and familiar things. It’s not about fame, material possessions, or lofty goals that many mistakenly think define happiness. True happiness lies in the home we live in with our loving family, in the friends we’ve known since childhood, in the school we attend, in the simple acts of kindness we receive, in the people who stand by us when we’re down, and in a partner who may not be perfect but offers peace and understanding.
These are the wonderful things that make life beautiful. They create the best experiences for us, founded on genuine love and deep trust. Happiness is made up of small joys: watching the sunrise with loved ones, nurturing something that grows, laughing with friends, giving without expecting anything in return, caring for others, and being true to oneself.
It’s a sweet feeling, one that lingers in the heart and shapes our soul. Anyone who has experienced happiness, even once, will carry it with them forever. If they ever lose it, they will regret it for the rest of their lives—just like realizing the value of pure, refreshing water after tasting many other drinks.
Indeed, happiness is often taken for granted, overlooked, or not valued. After facing life's bitter and sweet experiences, people may finally realize its true worth. There’s a saying: “Happiness in life depends not so much on what happens to you but on how you respond to it.” When we adopt the right attitude, happiness will find its way to us.
Happiness is when we learn to control our emotions, listen to others, see the positive in every situation, and live peacefully with ourselves. Like Nick Vujicic, despite being born with a debilitating condition that left him physically incomplete, he overcame these challenges to inspire others with his unshakable belief and determination, proving that happiness can be found even in the harshest circumstances.
It’s important to emphasize that happiness is not something others give to us. It depends on our own ability to cultivate a joyful spirit. To have a happy life, we must first plant the seeds of happiness within ourselves and nurture them. By sharing this happiness with others, we extend its value and ensure that it plays its rightful role in creating a community where individual and collective happiness can thrive, fostering sustainable development for all humanity.

2. Happiness is about living and contributing
As we enter the 21st century, our nation is embracing numerous new opportunities and challenges. I am truly moved and proud of the heroic tradition of our ancestors defending our land. The image of the soldier, immortalized in literature, has left an indelible mark on readers across generations. Through these stories, we gain a deeper understanding of happiness in life.
Happiness is something everyone desires in life. It’s something many sacrifice much to achieve, something many search for desperately, hoping to experience even a fleeting moment of it. Is happiness so difficult to find? For today's youth, they have learned how to see and cherish happiness, because for them, happiness originates deep within the soul of each person.
As the youth – the future leaders of the nation – we recognize that we must contribute to building a prosperous homeland. Our country no longer faces the smoke and flames of war; instead, we now enjoy the clear sky of peace, independence, and freedom. In this peaceful era, the responsibility of every Vietnamese citizen, especially the youth, is not just to protect the nation but also to build a richer and more beautiful country.
Therefore, young people today must first live with ideals and ambitions. An ideal is a noble goal that each person strives towards; it is the reason or purpose that each of us aspires to achieve. A person with high ideals always thinks and acts to improve themselves and contribute to their family, society, and country. Born into this world, each of us longs for happiness, and that longing drives us to search for it.
Moreover, deep within, people always wish for a peaceful, joyful, and happy life. To attain this desire, one must find a guiding principle for life – an ideal, so to speak. Ideals help us navigate through challenges and face adversity with courage. For, having an ideal to pursue, having a purpose in life, is the greatest happiness of all.
Happiness is living and contributing. Life is sacred, and contribution is eternal. Only when we give ourselves to something grand and significant can we truly live, especially for the youth. They are filled with energy and passion, capable of rejuvenating barren lands and making them bloom. For within them lies the vitality of life! Happiness is here and now, in this moment, and in what is written. Happiness is realizing that, despite the injustices, the harshness, and the unimaginable evil in the world, people continue to live. Perhaps we are too small to change these wrongs, but we are capable of nurturing the good, the sacred, and the pure.
Happiness is acknowledging that there are people who will never deserve the title of “friend,” people who mask their insincerity with a façade of kindness, yet we still find the courage to smile and converse with them, accepting them as they are without trying to change them.
Happiness is daring to accept life as it is and creating a beautiful picture, knowing that a few dark colors are always necessary. Life is cruel and cyclical, but it is a blessing to be born and to live! Life still holds many hardships, and the happiness of youth is found in making choices and facing the consequences. Learning to master our emotions and becoming more resilient. The road ahead is long, and we must walk it with strength. Happiness, at this moment, requires peace in the soul and a sense of serenity. “A calm mind amidst the chaos of life.” That is happiness! Happiness is continuing to live and connecting with the love of those who truly matter.
Is the happiness of today's youth about daring to act and start anew? They make mistakes, some of which can be corrected, while others cannot. But above all, the youth have the strength and courage to face the consequences of their actions and choices. The happiness of today’s youth lies in listening to their hearts, sometimes disregarding the whispers behind their backs, and pursuing their dreams and ambitions.

3. Perspectives on happiness are diverse
There are many words to describe emotions and moods such as happiness, sadness, joy, and sorrow. Happiness is a human emotional state that occurs when an abstract need is fulfilled. It is a higher-level emotion that is unique to humans. Happiness carries a deep sense of humanity and is often influenced by reason. While the concept of happiness may remain unchanged, each individual, society, and era may have a different understanding of it. Particularly, the concept of happiness today differs in many ways from previous periods.
Happiness and joy are closely related but distinct terms, referring to a sense of comfort achieved by reaching a certain value, goal, or result. The difference lies in whether the value, goal, or result is tangible or intangible. For instance, love, success, fame, and affection bring happiness, while material comforts and wealth bring joy.
Moreover, there is a sense of joy in fulfilling basic instincts such as eating and recreation. Happiness can be expressed in many forms, from language and writing to speech and action. While the word 'happiness' might sound and be written differently across countries, it universally signifies a state of joy, delight, and positive human emotions.
Perspectives on happiness are diverse, rich, and sometimes even contradictory, depending on individual personalities, living conditions, and social contexts. Some believe happiness comes from success, fame, and wealth, while others think that simply maintaining a peaceful mind brings happiness. Others define happiness as gaining public admiration and recognition. Just as personalities vary, so too does the definition of happiness, making it difficult to pinpoint and define accurately in the real world. However, a common thread across all people is the psychological comfort and satisfaction with life events.
The concept of happiness is closely tied to social circumstances. In different social contexts, human needs and the ability to provide life's comforts vary, which leads to different understandings of happiness. During wartime, happiness might come from victory over enemies or from the satisfaction of providing resources for the frontlines despite the struggles at home.
During times of poverty, happiness might be as simple as having a full meal. In periods of hardship, happiness could be the joy of family reunions. There is an immense happiness when a country gains independence or when a nation is united, a happiness shared by an entire people.
In the past, happiness was simple and humble. But in today's rapidly developing society, where science and technology continue to improve, scientific advancements are offering humans a life of convenience and comfort. The more complex society becomes, the more complicated the concept of happiness is.
Perhaps the truly happy person is one who maintains a healthy mental life, seeks joy, optimism, and comfort, and values self-care. A happy person knows how to take care of themselves, preserve their health, and exercise self-control in life. Happiness can also be found in those who succeed in various fields such as work, study, and marriage, or even those who feel content with their efforts and are recognized by others.
Studies show that people with a more demanding educational background tend to be more satisfied with their lives. This is because they set goals and worked hard to achieve them. Upon achieving their desires, they experience fulfillment and happiness.
A happy person is not someone who never fails. What matters is their ability to view failures and setbacks positively, as success cannot be achieved without experiencing some failures. A fulfilling life is one where personal and societal goals are met. A happy person not only maintains their own happiness but shares it with others, helping build a happier society.
Happiness in life cannot exist without contribution. It is not just about contributing to personal passions and desires, but also to society and the country. Some say happiness is found in struggle. Time is limited, but human desires are endless. Success has no boundaries, and people will always strive for improvement, aiming for a higher form of happiness.
Some believe happiness is an ideal. All ideologies and ideals share the goal of achieving happiness. Without ideals, humanity cannot progress and cannot attain true happiness. The desire for happiness and the ability to recognize it is what drives people forward on the long road to glory.
There is one happiness that never changes and always holds true for every individual: family happiness. As society becomes more modern and interconnected, people must learn to preserve and nurture their family happiness. A happy family is the foundation of a happy society.
In today's modern life, some people have misguided or blind views on happiness. The most prominent misconception in a wealthy society is that 'money can buy happiness.' There is a saying: 'Money can buy a house but not happiness.' Having money does not necessarily mean having happiness. Many families have broken apart due to money.
Parents focus so much on earning money that they neglect to guide their children. When the children go astray, the family falls apart, and even wealth cannot fix it. Some live according to individualistic ideals, believing that happiness is about enjoying life alone. This is a negative and misguided view of happiness. But can a lonely life, without anyone caring for or being cared for, truly be called happiness?
Happiness cannot be attained through trickery, manipulation, or by depriving others of their joy. One cannot call themselves happy if they cause suffering to others. A wise person once said, 'Happiness in life depends on your thoughts and perspective.' In today's world, people are increasingly taking control of their own happiness, living positively to experience more joy in their lives.
For every young person, the future is long and full of challenges. The happiness of youth is the freedom to make choices and face the consequences. Each person must walk forward more boldly, so that every moment and every day brings simple joys and achievements that lead to a greater happiness.

4. Happiness is found in the present moment, if you embrace it.
What is happiness? Perhaps each of us has pondered this question at some point. People can feel happiness, but describing it clearly is no simple task. Everyone has their own concept of happiness, and the answer to the question: "What is happiness?" varies for each person. The answers may align, but the emotions are never the same, because only the individual can truly experience the happiness they are going through. Happiness is a state of bliss, felt when one’s desires are fulfilled.
Sometimes, happiness is a grand achievement, like accomplishing something significant in life, while at other times it is simply the emotional joy of receiving help or a kind word. For many, happiness starts with the simplest things, like waking up every morning, feeling that one’s life has meaning:
''Thank you, life, every morning I wake up
I have another day to love and be loved''
(Trịnh Công Sơn)
Happiness might not always be found far away; sometimes, it is simply in having family, in sharing meals together, or in doing something fun as a family. But happiness is not just in smiles or joy; it also exists in tears. It’s in the tears of joy from a mother when her child is born healthy, or the tears of a girl receiving a late but heartfelt birthday wish from a close friend.
There is a story: A little puppy asked its mother, “Mom, what is happiness?” The mother calmly replied, “Happiness is in your tail!” The puppy tried to catch its tail but failed. Exhausted, it cried, “Mom, I can’t grasp happiness!” The mother smiled gently and said, “Look ahead, little one. Happiness will always follow you.”
Thus, happiness is something people cannot grasp in their hands, but it is not far from reach. Happiness comes from having something to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to. True happiness comes from within and cannot be influenced by others’ words or actions.
If someone says, “I don’t have happiness,” that person will never find it, no matter what they possess. Conversely, a poor person who says, “I am always happy” is truly happy.
The biggest barrier to happiness is desiring a happiness that is too grand. If we only seek happiness for ourselves, we may never find it. True happiness comes from living for others. That’s why we should share our happiness, because when sadness is shared, it is halved, while happiness, when shared, multiplies.
However, let’s not forget that happiness is just one beautiful note in the grand symphony of life, one bright color in the overall picture. It fuels our determination and joy to keep moving forward in life, but it is not everything. It can bring immense joy, but from another perspective, it can also drown us in illusions, causing us to forget the real issues around us.
It can even destroy one’s character if it plants the seed of arrogance. That’s why we must know when to stop, and take control of our happiness. We must transform that happiness into an optimistic, life-loving mindset. If we are optimistic, we will see life as meaningful and want to live fully because there’s so much we want to do. On the other hand, if we are self-doubting and sorrowful, we will not see the joy in life and will feel that life is dull and pointless.
In conclusion, happiness is simple—it’s recognizing the happiness that’s right in front of you. It doesn’t exist in the past or the future, but in the present moment if you choose to embrace it today.

5. Contentment with what you have brings happiness.
Don’t let ambition or pride overwhelm you. True happiness comes from being content with what you already have. However, this doesn’t mean living aimlessly or without dreams and goals. We must always have aspirations and passions, but these should be realistic and attainable. Effort brings achievement, but without hard work, ambitions can only lead to frustration and discontent.
People consumed by ambition often find themselves in misery, filled with envy and bitterness, never able to experience true happiness. There was a woman, highly intelligent and skilled, trusted by her colleagues and superiors. She was appointed as deputy director of a company’s technical division, yet she constantly felt misunderstood, believing that she deserved the role of director instead. Her resentment poisoned her relationships with others, leading people to view her with disdain.
One day, her boss fell ill, and she took over his position as the acting director. She assumed the transition would be easy, but soon discovered that she lacked the necessary leadership skills. Her lack of experience led to business losses, dissatisfied employees, and failed partnerships. In that moment, she realized the true capabilities required for leadership and understood the value of her former director. When she finally returned the position to him, she felt a great sense of relief and happiness.
Another woman had married a renowned professor and was initially proud of her prestigious husband. But soon, she began to envy her friend’s success, whose husband had risen quickly in business and enjoyed an affluent lifestyle. She began criticizing her own husband, questioning why he didn’t aspire to greater wealth. However, upon hearing about the misfortune of her friend’s family, she came to appreciate the stability and happiness she had in her own life.
There are others who find happiness by simply counting their blessings. They appreciate their peaceful homes, the health of their loved ones, and the job security they enjoy. True happiness doesn’t always require grand gestures; sometimes it’s the small moments of appreciation, like a kind word from a spouse or a loving gesture from a child, that make life meaningful.
Happiness is simple yet priceless. It resides within us, in our hearts and minds. When we learn to be content with what we have, we can experience true joy.

6. Happiness is within human reach.
Each of us has our own definition of happiness. Some believe that the happiest person is the one who brings happiness to others. In my view, this is a truly noble perspective, reflecting deep human values.
When we talk about happiness, we refer to a state of joy and satisfaction, feeling that our desires have been fully met. This feeling can be fleeting, intensely euphoric, or deep with emotion. Sometimes, it’s so elusive that words fail to express it. It’s a moment of perfection in life.
What makes a person truly happy? For some, happiness is found in material or emotional fulfillment. However, others believe that happiness lies in giving and contributing to others. For them, life only becomes meaningful when they sacrifice for the happiness of humanity. People’s perceptions of happiness are diverse, but we all share a common desire to be happy.
Happiness lies within our hands, created, nurtured, and developed by us. Many of our loved ones have contributed to our happiness. Every achievement, big or small, is often the result of others’ care and support. Therefore, true happiness comes from living for others. Happiness isn’t about ownership but about love and hope.
Those who only think about their own gain, indifferent to others, will never truly understand happiness. Happiness doesn’t come to those who live in solitude or selfishness, because even “a private paradise feels empty.” When we care for others, when we bring joy and happiness to those around us, even with a simple gesture or small act, we warm our own hearts and find peace.
Indeed, in life, if we can bring happiness to others, it is a beautiful thing. Simple acts, like helping an elderly person cross the street or offering a seat to a pregnant woman on a bus, can bring happiness to others. These small actions brighten their day. “Finding joy in the happiness of others is the secret to happiness.”
Moreover, happiness stays with us when we do something good for others, for society. The noble actions of our soldiers, revolutionaries, and heroes, who sacrificed their lives for our peace and freedom, embody a greater form of happiness. Their sacrifices were made to bring happiness to the nation. This happiness represents freedom and independence, which is something worth honoring and celebrating!
Indeed, there is nothing more noble than bringing happiness to others. The act of giving happiness is simple, yet highly honorable. However, in society, there are still many who don’t even perform the smallest kind gestures. Some are selfish, bringing sorrow to others. In families, we must condemn those who abuse their spouses and children or those who act irresponsibly and cause their parents pain.
Why do some people ruthlessly bring unhappiness to their loved ones? Outside of the family, we have young people who, instead of helping the elderly, exploit and rob them. Those who derive happiness from the misfortune of others deserve to be punished!
Happiness is within reach for all of us! Bring happiness to others, and you will find your own happiness!

7. Happiness is the ultimate goal that humans constantly strive for
The purpose of all existence, every effort, and every sacrifice is not wealth, nor love, but happiness. Happiness is the ultimate goal that everyone strives for, regardless of who they are or their circumstances. Many have different views on the true meaning of happiness. Some believe happiness is a state of bliss that arises when all desires are fulfilled. It is one of the most wonderful feelings humans experience in life.
Happiness is an essential value of human life, one of the three basic rights of humanity (the right to life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness). Some define happiness as an emotional state of satisfaction from fulfilling an abstract need. Happiness is a higher-level emotion, often seen as uniquely human, deeply humanistic, and influenced by reason.
However it is defined, happiness remains an abstract concept. It means different things to different people, in different contexts, and at different times. Some experience great happiness when achieving something significant in life. At other times, happiness can be simple and ordinary. There is happiness that comes unexpectedly, giving a fleeting sense of joy that is hard to describe, leaving a lasting impression on the heart.
Some happiness is the natural result of persistent effort. It brings satisfaction and lasts because it is the product of hard work. Happiness comes when we fulfill our desires and needs. For example, achieving success in studies, career, or gaining power and wealth gives us confidence and makes us proud of life, leading to a sense of security and joy.
We are happy when we enjoy good health, wealth, or marry a prosperous partner, or have a loving and healthy family. Happiness also arises when we satisfy our spiritual needs: gaining knowledge, fulfilling aspirations, achieving dreams, and having a clear sense of purpose. Happiness is an aesthetic fulfillment. When we enjoy a great work of art, we feel elated. Watching a powerful play or movie makes us feel life is more meaningful. We feel empathy for others and experience a deeper connection with life, and that’s happiness. Happiness is when we feel content with what we have.
Happy people accept themselves, including their flaws. They do not waste their precious time on sadness or regrets. They accept life's uncertainties and challenges as part of existence. Happiness is being content with what we've achieved. When we accept life as it is, we free ourselves from suffering, ambition, and selfish desires. At that moment, our mind is at peace, and we experience true happiness.
Some spend their entire lives searching for happiness but never feel fulfilled, while others find happiness even in life's toughest moments. Love is one of the greatest sources of happiness. We feel joy when our hearts are touched by someone special. The excitement, longing, anticipation, worry, and even jealousy all contribute to the thrill of love.
Being loved is a powerful motivation to improve ourselves. We are happy knowing that our existence has meaning to someone else. Happiness is spending time with loved ones, seeing them healthy and joyful. It’s the realization that someone remembers us, thinks of us, and cares about us.
Happiness is sharing good emotions, being cared for when we’re sick, comforted in times of loneliness, encouraged during hardships, and having someone listen when we’re sad. The happiest person is the one who brings happiness to others. (Diderot)
We find happiness when we bring joy to others because happiness thrives in sharing. It only comes to those who are empathetic, sincere, and generous, inspiring others to feel noble emotions. Happiness can bloom in our hearts. If we live well, we will be happy. If we engage in meaningful activities and love others without expecting anything in return, that is happiness.
Happy people are full of energy and optimism. They are cheerful, make time for fun, and don’t walk around with a frown. Happiness comes when we are true to ourselves, when we live from the heart, not behind a mask, and when we express our emotions openly. Happiness is fighting for what’s right. It doesn't come effortlessly; it requires effort. We must live fully for ourselves and others. If we don’t strive to win someone’s heart, someone else will. If we don’t fight for our country’s peace, we won’t have the happiness we enjoy today.
Living a life of dedication, striving for moral values is a fulfilling journey filled with happiness. Behind every challenge and hardship lies joy and meaningful experiences. Those who have never known suffering can never truly appreciate happiness.
Our actions reinforce our beliefs and make us more confident in our decisions. Good thoughts must be paired with noble actions, for they are the path to happiness in life. To understand love and happiness, we must live for others. That is what it means to love (Godwin).
Eliminating worries and anxieties brings us to a profound source of happiness. Love and happiness are inseparable; if we protect them, happiness will become a reality. If we don’t, happiness will remain a mere illusion.
When happiness comes, we must not be consumed by illusions, but face the real issues in life. The more we experience happiness, the more we should reflect on our responsibilities and obligations. We must share love and strive to bring happiness to our parents and loved ones with sincerity. Kindness, gratitude, forgiveness, patience, and faith in oneself are the paths that lead to true happiness.
Happiness is realizing the path that leads to it. From there, we must nurture happiness throughout our lives. Happiness only exists for those who strive, persevere, rise after failure, forget pain, and move forward with optimism. Always remember that happiness is within your grasp; the important thing is whether you can hold on to it.

8. Achieving happiness is not easy, but maintaining it is even harder.
In life, what everyone strives for, what they reach for, ultimately boils down to one word: happiness. Happiness has countless forms, yet it holds immense significance for each individual.
No one can truly define the word “happiness,” as it means something different to each person depending on their circumstances. For some, happiness is living in wealth and luxury. For others, it’s as simple as a full meal. Some find happiness in traveling to many places, while for others, it’s about returning home. For some, happiness lies in having someone who loves them deeply, while others find happiness in sharing their love with those in greater need. Happiness can be seeing your loved ones healthy and safe, or reuniting with old friends. Sometimes, happiness is simply accomplishing something you’ve always desired.
Even around us, we can see different forms of happiness. The joy of children smiling when their parents buy them new clothes, the delighted smiles of grandparents when their family reunites, the tears of joy on a bride’s face on her wedding day, and the trembling smile of a young mother hearing her child’s first words. Happiness may seem distant, but it’s actually all around us.
“Happiness” takes on many forms that are difficult to explain. However, no matter the situation or circumstance, happiness plays a vital role in everyone’s life. When we attain what we desire, happiness lifts our spirits and brings us joy. It helps balance our emotions, temporarily easing the pain and sorrow we may face in life. Happiness also gives us the motivation to pursue greater goals ahead, serving as a break to recharge and build momentum for future objectives. When we share our love with those in need, our hearts feel lighter and at peace. Moreover, our happiness spreads to others and contributes to making the world a better place.
Happiness is something everyone has the right to enjoy. However, no happiness will come to you if you just stand still waiting for it. So, how do we attain happiness? Happiness is something we create ourselves. Therefore, if we want happiness, we must take continuous action to achieve it. If happiness is reaching a set goal, we must overcome the challenges on the way to that goal. If happiness is about sharing and empathy, we must transcend selfishness and narrow-mindedness. Happiness won’t come if we just wait for it to fall into our lap. The very act of striving and improving ourselves is a form of happiness.
It’s not easy to attain happiness, but keeping it is even harder. If you achieve happiness but become complacent or get lost in it, your happiness will soon fade. Many people, absorbed in their joy, forget about reality, become arrogant, and lose themselves. You must know how to truly enjoy your happiness. Let it be a driving force, a springboard to spread that happiness to others and inspire them.
Happiness is not far away; it lies within you. Transform your inner strength into happiness, and when you achieve the happiness you desire, you will feel immense pride in that accomplishment.

9. The greatest aspiration in life is happiness
In life, each of us has a goal, a dream to pursue. But perhaps the greatest desire of all is “happiness.” Poet Nguyễn Quang Vũ beautifully expressed this with the words, “Happiness is like the sky. It is not just for one, but for everyone” – a gentle yet profound message about happiness.
The “sky,” in its most basic understanding, is an immense, boundless entity, shared by all of us, the atmosphere we breathe every day. When we feel peace and contentment in life, that is “happiness.” The notion of “Happiness is like the sky” emphasizes that happiness is a gift from the divine, meant for all of humanity and the world. However, because of this, no one can fully possess happiness alone. Happiness surrounds us, and the more people who experience it, the larger the collective sky becomes. We come closer to it as we strive and grow. Thus, to feel the radiant glow of happiness in life, we must not only put in effort but also share and help others so happiness spreads far and wide.
We often associate happiness with possessions – health, wealth, stable jobs, a good family – but those things don’t always guarantee happiness. The “possessions” we seek may be fleeting. For instance, the joy of purchasing a new house might last a week, or the excitement of securing a high position at work might not last long.
In reality, truly happy people are those who find balance and share what they have. Happiness comes naturally when we give and help others. You’ve probably heard of TV host Phan Anh’s charitable acts. He spent hundreds of millions of dong, along with his colleagues, buying supplies for those affected by floods in central Vietnam. After seeing the grateful smiles of the people receiving aid, he shared, “I feel truly happy. Despite the hardships, it felt like magic – I’ve never once felt exhausted.” Perhaps, the greatest happiness comes from giving and seeing the joy it brings to others. When we accumulate too much, we worry about protecting our possessions and lose sight of enjoying life. But when we share, the sky of happiness expands, spreading warm sunshine everywhere.
Therefore, always care for and love those around you. Keep the connection between your personal happiness and the happiness of others. Together, let’s bring the precious gift of happiness to all corners of the world, transcending all boundaries.

10. Happiness cannot be bought
Life is full of questions, yet sometimes it offers no clear answers, and we must answer them ourselves through the experiences and emotions we have encountered during our journey of growth. Just like the question: “What is happiness?”, each of us perceives happiness differently depending on our thoughts and the paths we have taken in life. So, what does “happiness” mean to you?
On a basic level, happiness is an emotion that brings satisfaction and contentment from fulfilling a need, and we naturally desire to enjoy it to the fullest. But that’s just a definition, and when we truly experience happiness, we realize it’s much more complex and infinite than we had imagined.
We can easily find happiness in the smallest things, as long as we are at peace and open to receiving it. Gently embracing happiness is like a soft breeze that calms our worries, eases the burdens of life, and helps us release the stress of our existence. After that, we continue to seek a new happiness, a different breeze, always striving towards perfection, towards a higher form of happiness.
Happiness can also be seen as an ideal, the goal we are all striving towards. Without an ideal or a goal, life would be dull and meaningless, lacking true joy and happiness.
The desire to attain happiness and to see others happy is what drives us on our journey through life. Happiness is also the love between people, the love for oneself, and the appreciation for the sacred things that life bestows upon every living being.
Achieving happiness is not difficult; it’s just about not being too harsh on life and not demanding too much. It will certainly come to us. Happiness is simply a glass of water when we’re thirsty, a piece of bread when we’re hungry, a word of comfort when we’re sad...
Happiness is not something materialistic like having lots of money, because happiness can’t be bought. It’s not about fancy jewelry that may not suit you, and it’s certainly not about a mansion with a thousand servants.
Humans always yearn for happiness, yet sometimes they misunderstand what it truly is. Some people think living in a palace, having hundreds of servants, and wearing expensive things that make others envious is happiness. Others believe that a simple life with family, a full meal each day, and the satisfaction of self-earned success is happiness. Which one is the true happiness?
As Marcus Aurelius Antonius once said, “Happiness in life depends on your thoughts and perspective.” Happiness comes from within us. Our perceptions are entirely shaped by our own mindset. When you have countless riches but are selfish and only want to keep them for yourself, you will feel lonely. If you sit idly while others serve you, you may grow bored. If you wear clothes that are too extravagant for your taste, even if others praise you, you will find society full of insincerity.
Do you truly want to continue enjoying this kind of happiness? You’ve sacrificed many things for it, but it’s not complete from the start, and it makes you view society in a negative light. Perhaps it’s time to exchange that happiness for something simpler.
Imagine waking up each day with your family, working together to create something meaningful, and when tired, resting and sharing a simple meal. You wouldn’t feel that life is boring, or that you are alone, or that the world is fake. Instead, you’d experience the beauty of life.
What must be done to achieve complete happiness? The answer is simple: live fully, let go of unnecessary burdens, be content with the present, and don’t demand excessive luxuries. By finding inner peace and accepting the present moment, you will be rewarded.
Happiness is not exclusive to anyone; it belongs to everyone. A small happiness shared with others will multiply into greater joy. When someone shares their happiness with you, embrace it and experience it with them. Helping others is also a form of happiness. When you give, you receive, and that’s the cycle of happiness.
Happiness isn’t a luxury; it begins with the smallest things and grows from there. The greatest happiness for your parents was when you were born, and as you grow older, their joy becomes more sacred. Every happiness you receive is a response to the effort and perseverance you’ve put into life. Happiness is the wonderful spiritual gift life gives you.
Every moment you live is precious, and you must cherish it, love it as it loves you. It gives you happiness as a gift, thanking you for appreciating it and encouraging you to continue seeking more gifts from life.
Happiness is a desire, a dream, a goal, and the destination for millions of people. It is love, pride, and a shared experience. Let happiness leave its mark in the collective happiness of humanity. Let’s build incredible happiness, as each person is the architect of their own joy.

11. Happiness in life encompasses many diverse expressions
In the colorful and diverse world of human life, the one thing everyone seeks to achieve is joy and happiness. Regardless of wealth or poverty, knowledge or ignorance, whether one is worldly or spiritually inclined, before becoming dust, all humans desire to find fulfillment through their own happiness.
"Happiness" is a concept that cannot be defined or precisely explained, as each person has different joys and goals. Happiness is based on individual feelings and emotions, and depends on one's personal objectives. However we define it, happiness is a state of mind or spirit characterized by joy and comfort when one achieves their desires, goals, or ideals.
Happiness in human life comes in many forms and manifestations. It can be built from material values or from one's spiritual life. Some people measure happiness by wealth and material possessions, believing that having money means having everything. Others argue that money cannot buy happiness, and for them, happiness lies in spiritual values, such as doing what they love or living peacefully with their family in a warm, harmonious atmosphere. Happiness can be grand, but it can also be found in simple, small moments, like waking up to fresh air and listening to the peaceful sounds of life, such as birds singing. Thus, happiness can be both "giving" and "receiving," depending on the individual’s beliefs and goals.
Regardless of how one perceives it, happiness is an essential spiritual value in life. It is only through joy and comfort that people can find the motivation to overcome sorrow and the obstacles on their path to success. Everyone has their own definition of happiness, and the journey to reach it is unique for each individual. Ultimately, happiness smiles upon those who deserve it. If one is overly ambitious or engages in deceitful, selfish tactics, even if they achieve their goals, they will never experience true joy and peace of mind. True happiness is built from good deeds and actions.
To attain the serene state of happiness, we must set righteous goals and ideals, as only noble values can form the foundation of true happiness. For instance, happiness can be "giving" or "Love is the happiness of humankind." At the same time, we must continue to strive and work hard to reach success through our own efforts and abilities. We should not sit idly by hoping that happiness will come; we must act and work for it!

12. Happiness comes from many different sources
The right to pursue happiness is one of the fundamental rights of Vietnamese citizens. Our nation has fought and sacrificed countless lives to regain this sacred and noble right. So, what is "happiness" that our people have paid such a heavy price for?
The concept of happiness is something we are all familiar with. We often use it to wish each other well on special occasions like birthdays, weddings, or the New Year. Happiness is the goal many people strive for. But what exactly is happiness? It's difficult to put this concept into words because happiness is a feeling, and feelings are not easily expressed.
Furthermore, everyone experiences different feelings, so it’s impossible to define happiness in a way that applies to everyone. But simply put, happiness can be described as a state of joy and peace when we achieve or fulfill something we desire. Happiness can be something simple, but it can also be grand. What we wish for may be a small thing, but at times, it may be our greatest dreams and aspirations.
Since each person’s feelings are unique, and their desires differ, happiness varies from person to person. Some people have many wishes in life, so happiness can come unexpectedly whenever a desire is fulfilled.
For me, happiness can come from many different sources. If my parents are healthy, I feel happy. Sometimes, it’s simply cooking a meal that my family loves. Happiness can be as simple as seeing my mother smile or hearing my father express his satisfaction with me. I have high ambitions, and naturally, everyone does. I strive for perfection in everything I do, at least within my own capabilities.
Each person has their own perspective on everything. My happiness will emerge when I achieve my personal goals, no matter the field. Therefore, happiness can come at any moment. Sometimes, it’s just talking to someone I like, reading a good book, or eating my favorite food.
On a larger scale, I find happiness in the success of my work. Happiness is something everyone seeks. You are the one who creates opportunities for your own happiness. Don’t sit idly by and wait for someone to bring happiness to you. Life is not like a fairytale, always with a happy ending. If you do nothing and live carelessly, you won’t find happiness in your future.
Life is full of dreams, so act to achieve them. Don’t just live for the sake of passing time; live for a better future. Today, you may fail, but don’t let tomorrow and the days ahead be the same. If today you feel sorrow, do something to bring happiness tomorrow. Happiness is not something distant or unattainable; it’s about whether you want to achieve it or not.
Happiness is a right that everyone deserves. It does not discriminate. If you haven’t found happiness, it’s simply because you haven’t done anything to obtain it. Happiness is simple, but it does not come to those who do not deserve it. For instance, someone who is cruel, malicious, and goes against morality, conscience, and the law will never find happiness.
Happiness is simple, but don’t confuse it with something easy to attain according to your desires. You must make an effort, dream, and your dreams should be realistic, not unattainable. Sometimes, you should also be content with what you have, and not be envious of others. Only then will you realize that happiness is right beside you. Because to many others out there, you are the dream they long for.
Society is often unfair. So, in certain situations, you should not be envious or jealous but accept what you’ve received and achieved. Stay positive and view everything with optimism, and you’ll surely feel happier.
I can also share a story that has stuck with me for a long time. It’s about the happiness of parents. A poor farming family with many children, though struggling, always had joy and laughter in their home. The mother was happy when her children were well-fed, and the father was happy when they received an education. The smiles of the children were the greatest happiness for the poor couple. Yet, they never lost that simple happiness because they knew how to work hard to build a happy family, without jealousy or complaints despite the hardships of life.
This story has taught me a valuable lesson: Never lose hope for the future. No matter what today brings, believe that tomorrow will be better. Strive for a brighter future so that happiness will fill your life. Happiness is something everyone seeks. You, I, everyone works towards achieving it.
Some people work tirelessly to earn money because they believe that money brings happiness. Others work on themselves, believing that spiritual perfection brings happiness. Each person has a different goal for their life, and when they achieve it, they find happiness. Dream and take actions to achieve those dreams, and you will surely find happiness.
Happiness is simple for those who want it, but it is distant for those who do not deserve it. Train hard and work diligently, and I believe that your tomorrow will be better. You will be happier right now.

13. Happiness becomes easier when it is simple.
Someone once asked me: “Are you happy? Do you believe happiness exists?” I smiled and replied, “I believe.” Life is like a book; you can only understand the ending after reading from beginning to end. Whether the book is good or bad depends on how you perceive it. Similarly, whether one’s life is happy or not depends on their own perspective on happiness.
We walk through life, facing hardships and struggles, but there are also moments of unexpected joy and sweet happiness. We are like musicians playing accompaniment, sometimes in low notes, sometimes in high notes. So why not create a happy melody for our lives? Life is short, live and smile.
For me, happiness is simple; it’s the joy and contentment of being with loved ones, sharing both happiness and sorrows, and the struggles that come with life. Everyone has their own definition of happiness, but at its core, it’s about the satisfaction that arises from a joyful attitude toward something in life.
However, happiness is intangible, elusive, and so each person will have a different answer to its pursuit. Some, like me, find happiness in the simple things around us: seeing my mother's meal after a long study session, seeing my father’s sweat as he fixes his old bicycle, seeing my grandparents growing stronger, or receiving warm hugs from my parents in the winter.
Yet, there are also moments of happiness that are born from tears, those are considered complete happiness. For example, when a mother sheds tears upon hearing her child call her for the first time, or when a father cries over his disabled child’s chance for treatment, or when tears flow from long efforts finally yielding results. For many, happiness is found in achieving great feats like earning substantial wealth, building a grand house, or visiting famous cities. These all represent life’s miracles.
But how can we achieve happiness? As stated before, happiness is intangible. So to find it, everything depends on our mental attitude. Happiness is created by the individual, not by external circumstances. It’s not dependent on material wealth or surroundings.
Your happiness is in your own hands. It will be easier if it’s simple, but harder if we strive for large and extravagant happiness. But happiness is not selfish. Even though it is created by the mind, it should not turn into selfishness, because when it does, it’s no longer simple happiness.
Don’t hold onto fleeting happiness that doesn’t belong to you. It may pass by in a moment, but if you grasp it, it won’t remain as happiness. True happiness comes from living for others, sharing your joy. Because happiness multiplies: when shared, it grows.
However, happiness is fragile, so we must be careful to distinguish it from pride, as the line between them is very fine. We may feel proud of our happiness, but if we indulge in it too much, we risk losing the true value of happiness. We may forget the practical issues around us and fail to realize that happiness is already here, not somewhere distant.
If you truly want happiness, cherish what is closest to you. It’s often easier to find, but once lost, it may never return. Pursuing grand, distant happiness can lead to exhaustion and disillusionment. Therefore, live and appreciate what you have, transforming simple happiness into something grand, into motivation to live joyfully and optimistically.
Happiness is the foundation for success. A happy person can achieve success because happiness provides the mental support and motivation needed. So, live fully with happiness, and success will surely follow. I can confidently say that I am happy with the simple things I have. What about you? Are you happy? I hope happiness finds you. Live, stay optimistic, and live for those around you, for the things closest to you as well as the distant dreams. Smile, and keep moving forward.

14. Happiness is when you dare to dream and take action
In life, everyone strives to live and work towards achieving complete happiness. While everyone has their own idea of happiness, there is a common thread that connects us, stemming from the shared human psyche. So, what is the definition of happiness for the youth in today's society?
Happiness is the feeling of joy when one’s wishes are fully realized. For young people, happiness comes when they achieve what they desire. Who doesn’t dream of having a happy family, long-lasting and meaningful friendships? That’s why young people yearn to live in an environment filled with love, harmony, and understanding among family and friends.
Love is the driving force that helps us overcome difficulties, resist temptations, and motivates the youth to push forward despite life’s many challenges. Happiness is when you are loved and have people to love in return. Perhaps no other age group is as full of dreams, ambitions, and even desires as youth.
As we begin our journey in life, facing the vibrancy of society, we have our own aspirations, plans for our careers, and future jobs. We long to express ourselves, to succeed, and to have society recognize our abilities. Happiness is when you dare to dream, to envision, and to act upon those dreams.
For the youth, happiness is true love shared between people; it is living with big dreams, great ambitions, and the vitality of youth. Happiness is not found in fleeting romantic relationships that many young people desperately chase. It’s also not in material possessions that you acquire by relying on your parents' money.
The essence of happiness for us as young people is to live fully, to contribute, and to receive sincere, selfless love; to pursue pure, ambitious dreams. True happiness is what drives youth to become confident, dynamic individuals who live meaningful lives.
