1. Poem: RANDOM THOUGHTS OF MAY - Lan Thanh
RANDOM THOUGHTS OF MAY
By Lan Thanh
Another May with red phoenix blooms
The wind bends and twists its shape
The relentless sun fills every corner
The cicadas sing their country song
May, the rice fields turn lush and green
The vast sky stretches as the storks fly
The streams rush with urgency
A kite rides the wind wherever it may go
May, the golden light by the dike
The grasses turn emerald green
In silence, the fisherman quietly searches
The bird dips its beak into the river's face
May, do you still remember
The first summer rains
Clearing the dust, revealing the fleeting world
The pages of books, now slowly turning
May, open wide the window
The lively summer rushes in
Yellow, green, white, red, purple
Excitement fills the air with the sound of a flute...

2. Poem: MAY LOVE SONG - Miền Ký Ức
MAY LOVE SONG
Miền Ký Ức
Does May bring sorrow as the golden rays spread along the street?
The awkward sunlight settles in my hair
The tamarind trees wait, listening for the sound of laughter
But the breeze carries you far away
May passes by, leaving behind confusion
A thread of heaven caught on the clouds
Where are you, I search endlessly for you
The color of your eyes, a longing that still remains
I search through life, endlessly searching
For a trace of the first days of love
Your eyes and lips, like the allure of wine...so dizzying
Swaying as we walked, lost in love’s embrace
The season passes, golden flowers scattered along the path
Will you return to rest with the dreams of the night?
So I can hear a song of longing
But the rhythm was lost the moment you left
Will you return to listen as I sing
A sorrowful love song for our parting
Or will you listen to the wind whisper
As your heart aches with bittersweet love
Will you return, and let our love bloom anew
Or are you just the wind, always wandering
Leaving these unfinished lines of poetry
And letting love die in the sorrow of night’s embrace
You left in May, perhaps the moment was broken
Is there still a fading song left behind?
The old melody falls away, a distant echo
And I silently lull my soul to sleep, lost in the past

3. Poem: WIND BY THE OLD RIVER - Dũng Bụi Trần
WIND BY THE OLD RIVER
Dung Bui Tran
She stood in a daze
Letting the May winds flow down
Into the river, coloring the mustard flowers in faded yellow
And she promised
Next season, we'll try picking
The delicate diêu bông leaves.
Then she asked:
- Will you remember me?
Remember the riverbank where we once walked
Watching the boat
Sail through the days, back and forth?
It was so peaceful.
I hurried
Lost in a dreamlike sleep
Carrying the longing that rolled in my eyes
Even though the waves surged
With the truth
I replied:
- Why did you quit the game
When the gathering had just ended?
The folk song
'Oh, my love, you stay behind...'
And the night faded as the moon sailed endlessly
Hidden beneath the clouds.
I stood still
Beside her fading silhouette
Who would wear the sorrowful poet's hat now?
Who would join me
In drawing water from the well morning and night?
Let the rain and sunshine pass.
I whispered:
- Are you leaving soon?
Don’t worry about me any longer
Keep your happiness
Let the evening rest quietly by the door
Waiting for someone to return.

4. Poem: A MOMENT IN MAY - Hong Ngoan
A MOMENT IN MAY
Poem by: Hong Ngoan
May is here again
Bringing a fluttering feeling within
The cicadas awaken
After a brief rainfall
The red phoenix petals shyly fall
Next to the familiar white dress
The bicycle basket feels heavy
As the school bell rings...
The breeze blows, vast and free
The sunshine suddenly turns golden bright
April passed in a rush
Stirring up a corner of the sky
Here I send a fleeting moment
A memory from days gone by
The scent of love gently lingers
On the lips of someone sweet.

5. Poem: SUMMER COMES - Tran Thanh Nhan
SUMMER COMES
Tran Thanh Nhan
I felt summer arriving since last night
The rainstorm awakened the sleeping seeds
The cicadas, soaked, lay on the ground
Waiting for dawn to transform them, singing cheerfully.
I saw summer coming from a distant field
The frail mother, bent over, carrying bundles of grass
The rice plants, green and tender, swayed in the breeze
Waiting for the first thunder to purify the earth.
Summer has arrived, faintly visible at the village's edge
Spreading sunshine over the old, curved temple roof
The ancient banyan tree spreads its vast shade
As the children, sun-kissed, lead the buffalo home.
Summer has arrived across the countryside
The fresh green covers the red-tiled roofs
The scent of lotus flowers gently drifts in the breeze
The phoenix tree displays its red blooms, greeting May.

6. Poem: MAY SUN - Phan Tinh
MAY SUN
Phan Tinh
What did you blow into the May winds
That the memories swirl endlessly, longing
Turning summer into a deep shade of farewell
The red phoenix petals flutter at parting
What did you blow into this morning's breeze
That the sunlight dances, dreamily intoxicated
Who caught the wind, playing with the tilting clouds
Rocking the vast purple afternoon, drifting away
What did you sprinkle into the distant sunbeam
As it dries the tangled hair, carried by the breeze
It lingers like a love left unspoken
Pouring golden honey onto the doorstep
What did you release into this peaceful pause
When the cicadas ceased their loud calls
And the birds gently swooped, wings stretching
Leaving a trace in the corner of my loving eyes
I gather the May sun into my heart

7. Poem: MAY - Phan Thu Ha
THE MONTH OF MAY
Phan Thu Hà
Suddenly encountering the bright red flowers of the phoenix tree,
The blazing sun of May paints the sky and earth,
The sound of cicadas fills the small street,
And laughter rings out in the joyful summer.
The first summer rain falls hurriedly,
Suddenly pouring, then stopping—when you don’t expect it,
Leaving behind a shimmering sky,
With a gaze as clear as the blue sky itself.
Who is this in the pure white ao dai,
As graceful as clouds descending onto the schoolyard?
The bell for exams tolls,
And a sense of longing fills the air.
The first lotus bud starts to bloom,
Its fragrance sweetens the breeze,
May’s long afternoon fades as the sun sets,
And the horizon gently glows with the first stars.
The phoenix flowers burn with memories,
Faded yet never forgotten,
Pressed into the pages of a notebook,
Whispering softly, 'Oh May, come back.'

8. Poem: THE PURPLE FLOWER - Nga Vu
THE PURPLE FLOWER
Nga Vu
The purple flowers of the lagerstroemia are already near the gate,
It seems they hesitate before blooming,
They bring with them the season’s longing,
For someone far away, firmly remembered.
Once, I promised that I wouldn’t part with the shimmering purple flowers,
And even now, many years later, that promise remains,
Life anchors in the streets, startled by the sudden stillness.
Only the wind-filled season remains,
The purple flowers outline the shapes of memories,
The one who has gone, pressed in the pages of a notebook,
Lost in thought as dawn breaks over the street.
Hands reach out, searching for a direction, lost in confusion,
As the wind carries the scent of memories,
Life is like a fleeting cloud passing by,
And the purple flowers continue their journey.
Oh, perhaps... yes, they are beautiful.

9. Poem: MAY MEMORIES - Ha Nguyen
MAY MEMORIES
Ha Nguyen
I tuck away my petty frustrations in the familiar corner of the street,
Storing my longing deep within the recesses of memory,
Placing the purple hue of the lagerstroemia in the vastest part of the sky,
And hiding you in the deepest corner of my heart.
I bury childhood games in the dry stalks of rice,
Hide the late-found joy in the deepest layers of my subconscious,
Preserving the dimpled smile in the first promise,
In the warmth of summer...
The cicadas call the phoenix flowers home,
The wind whispers stories never told,
The leaves curl, hiding themselves deep into the night,
As the world goes on.
What makes the cicada lament, singing all through the scorching May?
Is there a lingering sadness in the farewell of the graduating students?
Do pure tears fall during the ceremony of gratitude?
Are there quiet moments that can never be named?
Between the realms of reality and illusion,
Who will help lift May out of the memories?
The first love, as beautiful as the song we once sang together,
On the night of our farewell...

10. Poem: SUMMER SUN AND FLOWERS - Phạm Quang Thu
SUMMER SUN AND FLOWERS
Phạm Quang Thu
The peach and apricot blossoms have just passed,
With the rising sun, summer feels like it’s been here for so long.
The crimson phoenix flowers ignite the flames of love,
And the summer moon drifts across the sky like a breeze!
Oh summer, the sun paints the day in red,
Oh phoenix, your fiery hue touches the skies with love.
In May, sunlight casts its shape on the flowers,
The jasmine blooms gently at the doorstep.
Gathering every soft ray of sunshine,
Weaving them into silk for the fields of Hà Đông.
Wishing to embrace the full stretch of the Red River,
To shower the dried-up fields with much-needed rain.
Picking the moon, weaving it into a traditional dress,
And offering you a song from Ban Lan,
As we stroll through the day,
We weave dreams in the gentle summer's embrace.
Life's paths shimmer in the sunlight,
The scent of memories has faded with time.
The roads of past love stretch, long and golden,
Do you still remember the days we spent together?
The evening breeze carries the scent of betel flowers,
The lime flowers now glow with the rising sun.
Longing for the days by the streams of your hair,
Your blue eyes stirring the emotions of love.
Footprints in the radiant sunlight,
Bring a tear as I remember the days long past.
May has just arrived at your doorstep,
And the moonlight paints the path with summer flowers...

11. Poem: HE RETURNS - Phạm Tân Dân
HE RETURNS
Phạm Tân Dân
Waking up, stepping across the glossy threshold,
Hastily gathering the falling sunbeams,
The purple flame trees mourn the summer days.
The red phoenix flowers weave a tapestry across the sky.
The cicadas hover while the kites fly,
The golden rice is ripening, the scent of fresh straw fills the air.
He returns at dusk, with a soul tinged purple, letting go of the past.
He holds in his arms the memory of a loved one.
The rain stitches a canopy, summoning thunder,
You rush out to greet it, full of emotion.
He brings memories and love in his hands,
While the droplets blend with the sweetness on your lips.

12. Poem: OH SUMMER... - Nguyễn Ruyến
OH SUMMER...
Nguyễn Ruyến
The sun bursts forth, welcoming summer's return,
Turning the grass fields along the riverbank to gold,
As the sparrows joyfully dance in the air,
Chasing away the gloom of the heart.
The summer nights are filled with burning passion,
The stars and the moon echo vows of love,
From somewhere, the sound of laughter resounds,
Filling the countryside with joy.
The summer rain falls relentlessly,
And I'm only afraid that you’ll be sad,
When your delicate waist is revealed,
You smile, hiding your shyness with grace.
Summer pours its fiery warmth upon us,
Like a bunch of phoenix flowers at dawn,
Intoxicating, lingering in the warmth of affection,
The gentle melody carrying the hue of pink.
Oh summer, the sea calls with promises of longing,
Offering hearts the gift of love,
Then comes the memories, the love, the lingering feeling,
Wishing for summer to last until winter comes...

13. Poem: TOUCHING A MAY - Hoàng Chẩm
TOUCHING A MAY
Hoàng Chẩm
Fading, you are in a distant corner of the sky,
The season of love stays, holding onto dreams of flowers,
The old fragrance, faint and blurry,
As if we had forgotten and drifted apart.
Fading, drawing the pain of the past,
From parting that still lingers, making the old days worn out,
My hand counts the stars, now fewer,
As I keep the lamp on, remembering the love that was once ours.
May dries the soft lips,
Waiting for the summer rain to intoxicate with its lullaby,
Hiding away the long-ago memories,
Love like a dream... already faded, even though distant.
The May winds carry the fragrance of hair,
My feelings, fresh yet still full of longing,
The river still moves slowly on,
While the boat is anchored at a strange shore, leaving behind our lives together.

14. Poem: MAY SUNSHINE - Long Tran

MAY SUNSHINE
Long Tran
You lean on the door, waiting for the May sunshine,
The sun comes, finally... after so many days of longing,
I see in your eyes, the sun seems uncertain,
Blaming itself, why does it keep wandering away?
The sun pours into my heart, now feeling unsteady,
The sun is strong, but now it acts like a spoiled child,
It rests on my shoulder, and its rays seem to whisper,
Your embrace feels so warm, my dear!
The sun shivers when it brushes against your lips,
The kiss isn’t sweet, but incomparable,
The intoxicating feeling you’ve kept since last season,
Now makes the sun dizzy and drunk!
Knowing you’ve waited, the sun gathers clouds,
Brings you the first summer rain,
The whole earth is intoxicated by this strange sweetness,
Drunk by the season, the sunshine... and your lips!
...............!

THE ARRIVAL OF MAY
Poem by Giot Mua Thu
Have you felt the nostalgia of May?
A gentle breeze carries a sweet fragrance through the streets.
The first summer rain nurtures the vibrant green grass.
Delicate branches of the red-leafed tree peek through the window.
In May, the purple flowers of Lagerstroemia bloom.
A flock of little birds bask in the warmth of the sun.
The clusters of phoenix flowers linger, seeking a peaceful space.
Your lips whisper, carrying the essence of love.
In May, the cicadas sing a melody of longing.
The Trinh music echoes in the depths of memory.
The scent of Magnolia lingers deeply in each breath.
The afternoon sun paints the sky with a touch of love.
In May, do you feel the lingering yearning?
The memories that time carries with it.
The red flowers spread a romantic hue of love.
May returns...
And with it, an ocean of memories...!!!
