1. Maintain the Correct Posture While Studying
Your sitting posture has a significant impact on your health, including your spine, eyes, and more. Therefore, it’s essential to be mindful of your posture while studying and adjust it to ensure it is more suitable. Keep your back straight and your eyes at a 50cm distance from the book. Also, choose a desk and chair that match your body height.
Why does your posture affect your brain? If you study in an improper posture (slouching or fatigued), you inadvertently send negative signals to your brain. The brain will register these signals and immediately associate learning with boredom.
Over time, this becomes a habit, and you’ll begin to feel that studying is tiring and exhausting. On the other hand, if you sit and study for a long time, after 30-40 minutes, try standing up and stretching or listening to a relaxing song. These activities help your brain relax. Prolonged work decreases brain efficiency, but relaxation recharges the brain’s energy and improves focus for better performance.

2. A Suitable Study Environment
In reality, there is no one-size-fits-all ideal study environment. Each person has their own perfect space. Some prefer cafés, others enjoy libraries, and some thrive in parks. So how do you determine the best environment for yourself? If you already know what works for you, great! But for those who are unsure, here’s what you can do:
Feel free to experiment with different settings. For example, today you could try a neat study desk, tomorrow a messier one, and the next day study on your bed. Pay attention to which space helps you feel most comfortable and focused—that’s the environment that’s best for you.

3. Memorizing Instead of Taking Notes
Research on brain exercise shows that remembering events and then discussing them with others can significantly improve memory, as these activities engage all levels of the brain – perception, memory, and thinking. As a result, brain function improves noticeably.
The method is simple, as these are everyday situations. You can recall and comment on a colleague’s presentation, or share with friends the impressive artworks you saw in a museum. These are excellent opportunities to keep your mind sharp.
So, how do you remember what you’ve seen? Repeat. For instance, when meeting a stranger and they introduce their name, instead of saying, 'Nice to meet you,' say, 'Hello X, nice to meet you.'

4. Repetition of New Concepts
When you continuously do something, your brain forms a 'pattern' to optimize this process, making it faster and more efficient. Just like when you were a child learning to eat, your hands, though capable of holding chopsticks or a spoon, were initially awkward and clumsy. But over time, you became proficient and could eat like an adult. So, how can you apply repetition in life?
Build neural pathways in your brain by performing even the smallest tasks in daily life. When you see a piece of paper on the ground, pick it up and throw it in the trash, or do anything with it. When you procrastinate cleaning your desk, start by picking up one item and putting it in the right place. Guide your brain towards good habits, and soon you’ll stop procrastinating and begin taking control of the game.

5. Learning New Things
This may sound obvious, but the truth is the more you use your brain, the more productive it becomes. For example, learning to play a musical instrument allows you to translate sheet music into specific notes. Or, if you learn a new language, you'll develop a new way of thinking and expressing yourself.
Challenges make your brain sharper. A 'blank' brain only holds trivial things, so fill it with different challenges. Take classes you never thought you'd attend, go out and do things you once feared, like dancing or martial arts...

6. Healthy Eating
Foods such as fish, fresh vegetables, and fruits are essential for optimal brain function. Additionally, dark chocolate is a food that helps improve brain performance. When you eat chocolate, your brain produces dopamine, which helps you learn faster and remember better. Moreover, the flavonols and antioxidants in chocolate also enhance brain function. So, if you have a challenging task, try a piece or two of dark chocolate.
Many people follow restrictive diets to lose weight, which may lack essential fatty acids like Omega 3 – vital fuel for the brain. Consider incorporating foods that contain healthy fats, like coconut oil, olive oil, salmon, and almond butter, which are beneficial for dieting and boosting intelligence.

7. Think Positive Emotions
Don't let negative emotions take over and prevent you from reaching your brain's full potential. Think about all the positive things that have happened, are happening, or could happen, even from failures. Failure can actually teach you new things, offer a new perspective, eliminate negative thoughts, and help you see the “big picture.”

8. Learn to Read Faster
Speed reading is a tool for intelligent people. When exploring a topic, you often need to read books, newspapers, or magazines to gather useful information. Therefore, you need to learn how to read quickly to save time. Speed reading also helps your mind stay more focused, giving you more mental energy to synthesize issues and make decisions faster.

9. Practice Meditation or Yoga
Yoga helps stretch your entire body while keeping your brain engaged in the movement process. The key is that yoga connects the brain with the body and enhances your awareness of everything around you. Both meditation and yoga improve your ability to focus on your tasks and provide your mind with the energy it constantly craves.
Meditation is simple. Just find a quiet space, sit on a thick cushion with a straight back, focus on your breathing, and let go of any thoughts. If your mind wanders, relax and start again. You can practice at home or visit a center for guidance in a comfortable setting.

13. Bring More Oxygen to Your Brain
The human brain weighs an average of 1.4 kg, and men's brains are approximately 10% heavier than women's. Despite the brain constituting just about 3% of our body weight, it requires 20% to 30% of the body's total oxygen supply. This illustrates the crucial role oxygen plays in maintaining proper brain function.
Here are ways to supply more oxygen to your brain and body:
- Drink plenty of water
- Practice deep breathing
- Chew gum
- Yawn

14. Listening to Music (Instrumental Music)
Why instrumental music? This is based on the function and activity of both hemispheres of the brain. When you are studying, most subjects at school engage the left hemisphere of your brain, as you need to analyze and calculate a lot. Naturally, during this time, the right hemisphere has nothing to do. As the saying goes, 'Idle hands are the devil’s workshop,' this also applies here: if you allow the right hemisphere to rest, it will wander off, daydreaming, preventing you from focusing on your studies.
Therefore, listening to instrumental music is a way to keep the right hemisphere engaged, so it won’t disturb you. Just instrumental music, as songs with lyrics involve the left hemisphere. The rhythm of the instrumental piece shouldn’t be too fast or too slow, and most importantly, it should be a piece that you find soothing.

15. Exercise for 30 minutes each morning
