TO share a dream and unite in love

DO you hope to marry a virtuous wife

TAKE the friend you’ve known for so long

I remain the same, waiting patiently

NOT hesitant, not rushing, my dear

The betel leaf remains green, ever so

The areca nut ripens, will your heart still yearn...?

I’ll buy tea, pick a lucky day

The betel, areca for the ceremony is ready

The invitation card isn’t hurried

The rich red color shows, our hearts, both yours and mine!

I SEND you my warmth, tender and sweet

GIVING you my love, full of passion

ASKING if you’ll marry me

We invite friends to our wedding day,

Hoping you won’t be late, my dear friends.

Still waiting for my friends to arrive,

To celebrate our joyous day together!

Loving you, my passionate heart

Forever hoping to feel this deep love!

Counting the days, waiting so long

Anticipating this moment, a dream come true!

With hearts entwined, our promise fulfilled

We will love deeply, in this dream of ours!

Instead of being sad, we still try to find each other

Now, after all the pain and sorrow

It seems like our love is enchanted, forever strong

But you know, the memories linger

They’re endless, we can’t measure or forget

Our bond will always stay strong

Do you fear being dishonest with yourself?

What else is left, as we continue to remember?

Why did you let go of this passion?

Goodbye to teachers and dear friends,

Goodbye to the roof and porch,

Parting ways, many farewells yet to come!

How can I forget those school days,

The childhood dreams, the wishes we made,

Three years of studying and striving,

On the final year, chasing dreams for tomorrow!

Now I strive for higher learning,

Determined to prove my heart’s intent,

Studying until the very end,

But I'll always remember the youth I left behind!

In life, there’s an abundance of passion,

And in the future, our dreams will stay warm...

I remember that year of red phoenix flowers,

Returning to the place where you waited for me,

Summer blazed hot across the road,

Yet couldn’t stop the yearning that drew me back to you.

Following the familiar path, lost in the past,

Returning to you to express my love,

The phoenix flowers are so brilliantly red,

The redness of your lips reminds me of afternoons spent by your side.

The soft summer light turns the flowers even redder,

Bathing in the warmth of the summer sun, filled with love.

The path back still lingers, filled with longing,

Returning to you with memories in my eyes like a young doe.

Hand in hand, we set the summer ablaze,

And together we rekindled the passion we once shared.

Are you lost in the deep red of my love?

My heart only beats for one person—only you.

How many days have I waited for you?

Night after night, the memories keep me awake.

Studying feels different now,

But my heart is searching for you, hoping we can reunite soon.

My heart is consumed by this love, wild and intense,

I’m constantly thinking of you, intoxicated by your smile.

Your soft lips and flowing hair,

Your eyes full of love, captivating my soul.

Who can bring me this warmth, this passion?

This summer, so many nights I’ll remember,

Studying but still dreaming of your smile and eyes.

I fell for you, I couldn’t help it,

Endlessly remembering your smile, so captivating.

My heart swirled, intoxicated by love,

Overflowing with affection, craving your kiss.

But now you’re angry, distant,

Why didn’t you speak, leaving me to wonder?

Our connection is strong, we could have everything,

As a man, I wish to always be by your side.

My heart has surrendered, softened by your touch,

Yet fate has thrown us off course, forcing us apart.

But even so, you don’t need to speak anymore,

From now on, I’ll forever be consumed by love for you.

Reminding me of promises once made, now forgotten?

My heart is full of passion, overflowing with affection,

Waiting, hoping here, I stand,

Yearning for you to come back home to me.

Like the burning heat of a summer afternoon,

I long to be with you, lost in love’s embrace,

Hoping, longing, despite the pain,

Hoping that one day, you will return and end my sorrow!

Where have you gone, my love, where can you be?

MID-AUTUMN, REMEMBERING MY VILLAGE BY THE FLOOD

You struggled to study day and night,

I wished for you to excel in your studies, my dear!

Once, you were covered in mud and dirt,

Walking to school through flooded rivers and streams!

The school on the other side, the bridge was gone,

The rain hadn’t stopped, and the flood returned!

The Mid-Autumn night, the sky over my village,

Autumn gathered, as gifts were shared amidst the rain!

That’s how it was, that’s how it was back then,

I wonder, has anything changed since then?

Will the rain fall again?

The rain, the flood... does Mid-Autumn still exist?

Only by going back can you feel the deep longing

For the poor, struggling land of my homeland.

Have you reached school yet?

On this Mid-Autumn night, I ask, will the rain return?

Thirsting for the old love that once burned brightly,

I drink from the bitter cup, my heart full of longing!

I once loved you so deeply, my dear,

But has that passionate moment truly passed?

The desire that once overflowed now fades away,

As dreams and wishes of the past dissolve!

Did you really forget, or is it just a lie?

Who will now lead me through the storm?

In the rain of a fading autumn, love withers away,

Can I still sleep, knowing love is lost?

My heart is left in turmoil, adrift in despair,

Sadness lingers as the dream of love fades.

The golden light of the sun stings my eyes,

My heart, fragile and full of yearning, aches with longing.

The thirst for those moments overflows once more,

Who will lull me to sleep, easing the pain of lost love?

I have lived through bitter days

First love was dreamy but then shattered

Tomorrow, someone will cry these tears

Spring, do you understand my heart's sorrow?

Spring, do you feel the pain of the past?

Do you understand the unhealed wounds of yesterday?

I silently sigh, burdened with sadness

Life gave me a broken love

Quietly, I bear this endless sorrow

What remains is only bitterness and regret

Who allowed this hurt in our hearts?

Why love if it ends in pain?

I swear I will never love again

When it's over, will anyone remember our words?

'You are mine forever'

I didn’t understand the meaning of those words

Waiting for you to come back, hoping for answers

Tomorrow, I’ll send a few words your way

LOUD amidst the sounds of trains and cars

THE whispers of someone in love with their heart

A herd of buffaloes cooling off by the river

CRICKETS singing their warm summer melody

LOOKING at you, so radiant and full of life

THE flowers envy, lost in sadness

THE phoenix, while its red hue is charming

CAN never compare to the vibrant redness of your lips...

MISSING you, I hold it within my heart

SOMMER returns, do you still long to come along?

This year, returning to the riverbank

BACK to the old days, filled with passion and longing!

HEARING the lively sound of crickets again
