1. Poem: August - Phạm Hòa
August
Author: Phạm Hòa
The August sun blazes on the fruit trees
While autumn’s spirit still lingers somewhere
At night, thousands of stars twinkle bright
Fireflies flicker by the pond in gentle flight
Storms rage and the winds howl fierce
The heat feels like fire burning the skin
Autumn hides, waiting inside
Until August passes, then she'll appear
The breeze sleeps, resting in the night
Leaving the world buzzing with life outside
Autumn arrives, lovers await
As the season of love welcomes the red thread of fate

2. Poem: August Comes - Phan Thúc Định
August Is Here!
Author: Phan Thúc Định
August arrives, filling hearts with love!
But I decided to hide my feelings, keeping them at the door of autumn.
For I know that when autumn comes, your heart will be split in two,
One half for me, the other floating in the sky!
August comes, and the leaves begin to change their clothes!
Wrap the green hues to send to the earth, while the red reaches the sky.
The narrow alley hesitates as the last of the long dresses brush by,
Faintly, the heart aches with the sorrow of distance...
August arrives, and the heart stirs with longing!
A clear sky appears endless, as if there’s no bottom.
But the faint moonlight is enough to make a fragile heart retreat,
For no matter which way you look, you see the imperfections!
August arrives, and I wonder what to do?
How can I keep the essence of autumn and my dreams unchanged?
It feels like the first time I met your gaze...so nervous!
I shyly look away, even though my heart is already wide open...

3. Poem: August - Đỗ Hương
August
Author: Đỗ Hương
August brings half of autumn's grace
The other half still lingers in the late summer air
What tree blooms with bright white flowers?
It seems like the "Giành Giành" flower, always competing
For its share with him.
August in the garden feels fragile
The morning dew shyly peers through the sunlight
Early in the morning, little sparrows chirp away
And suddenly fall to the ground, startled
While the ceremonial curtain asks if they have touched the scent of the everlasting milk flower.
August steps gently, afraid of disturbing the hundred-year love
The clouds count the years, making one feel awkward
They trap autumn in a whisper.
August, so fragile, the poem doesn't dare to be sent.
Clumsy hands don't know where to hide the hesitation
If by accident, they break a sunbeam
What can be done to make amends with autumn?
Holding onto autumn with
The misty clouds of August.

4. Poem: August - Phan Thu Hà
August
Author: Phan Thu Hà
July falls silent as the rains still persist
The moon calls out, inviting August by the summer's edge
The red blossoms of the Lok Vung fall, marking the end
Autumn unexpectedly emerges, with green leaves shielding the sky.
The quiet season settles in amidst tangled grasses
The sun's tender kiss touches a golden flower
The purple twilight hastily falls beyond the horizon
Clouds drift on the wandering breeze.
Does anyone still return to the old rendezvous?
A bitter drop of coffee brushes the sad lips
Startled, remembering an old autumn afternoon
Two people drenched under a pouring rain.
Do you know, autumn arrives with August?
Do you remember the scent of fresh green rice waiting?
Feeling so nostalgic, hearing the footsteps of time
A note of music falls, touching the pages of the poem.
Hands count the years through waning moons
Holding on to the fragrance, the green moss of longing
The old song “Have the leaves begun to turn yellow?”
The raindrop softly calls out, a whispered “I love you.”

5. Poem: August Love Poem - Phạm Hồng Giang
August Love Poem
Author: Phạm Hồng Giang
I write another love poem for August
The late summer sun scorches the tamarind tree
The cicadas' song has ended, leaving no trace
Only a cool breeze whispers, heralding autumn's arrival.
For our love is still so distant
A sad raindrop falls near the O Bridge
The yellow leaf is swept away by the wind
While the evening heavy with reflections ripples the pond.
The words I write are filled with longing
Letters waiting for a distant love
For in longing, the colors blur
And dreams feel farther than they seem.
But my dear, the promise we made last year
Will never fade from our hearts
Even if the autumn rain and sun intertwine
The memory of longing will forever burn.
I write a poem of fate and love
The sun is fragile...
It reminds me...
Of our love story!

6. Poem: The Heaving Chest of Autumn - Lan Thanh
The Heaving Chest of Autumn
Author: Lan Thanh
August arrives, bringing an unexpected rainstorm
Pouring down, soaking the streets of Hanoi
The water rushes quickly and relentlessly
The alleys transform into canals and ponds.
The relentless sun has disappeared, forgotten to pack away
The beautiful clouds that once adorned the sky are now exhausted and weary
The cicadas resume their song with familiar tunes
The coconut trees along the river sway in a dazed, distracted motion.
The hen clucks hoarsely, her voice hoarse
Opening her wings to shield her chicks from the rain
A mouse, timid and soaked
Secretly hides beneath the shelter of the coconut palm.
Summer turns away, its scent of lotus fading with regret
The chrysanthemums bloom in someone’s garden, their golden hue irresistible
The fragrant blossoms of the Michelia tree fill the air, spreading a sweet scent
My heart stirs, my chest heaves with emotion as autumn arrives.

8. Poem: Oh, August - Nguyễn Thị Xuân Hương
Oh, August...!
Poet: Nguyễn Thị Xuân Hương
Oh August! Oh August!
It stirs the traveler’s heart, making them feel lost
The wind swings the branches of the chrysanthemums
The soft evening rain makes the eyes smile.
August is sad! August is joyful!
The autumn breeze passes through the window, where dreams are buried
Someone just went out to the streets, spreading the scent of milk
With flowing hair, they gather a few radiant flowers.
August is angry! August falls...
Like a village girl lamenting the loss of a bright spring
Holding her child by the door, looking out to the empty distance
Whispering softly in her ear: life!
Oh August!
Oh August!
August is full
August fades away....
- Nguyễn Thị Xuân Hương -

9. Poem: Welcome August - Trần Lực
Welcome August
Author: Trần Lực
Do the clouds return to the old place... the old garden?
To hear the birds singing, feel the wind blowing through the window
July has gone, no longer lingering
The lotus petals withered... traces of time.
The rain also returns, whispering the tale of the Weaver and the Cowherd
Telling me of love interrupted by the Milky Way
How can anyone measure the bonds of fate on this earth?
The evening boat slows down, a fair maiden crosses the river...
Does August bring the weight of waiting and longing?...
Trần Lực

10. Poem: August Has Arrived - Trương Túy Anh
August Has Arrived
Poet: Trương Túy Anh
August has arrived, do you feel it?
The chill in the breeze of early autumn
Lightly dampening your shoulder, dew falls down
It seems like your tears are flowing.
August has arrived, leaves flutter down
Weaving a golden carpet to guide your steps
The scent of fresh green sticky rice lingers in the air
As the gentle cradle of your mother rocks you to sleep.
August has arrived, do you feel the passion?
The chrysanthemums, red, white, and yellow, send their fragrance flying
The sweet intoxication of a first kiss, so warm
Like the fresh morning dew.
August has arrived, who do you miss?
Our love that was once so deep
Tomorrow, your parents will bring the betel nuts
And you will board the boat to the place where my love awaits.

11. Poem: August, Oh - Hồ Viết Bình
Oh, August
Poem by: Hồ Viết Bình
Oh, August, gentle and calm
The cool breeze softly, the leaves drift down
She says August feels so melancholic
And a sudden emptiness fills the heart.
August has arrived, oh August
The golden sunlight, the fresh yellow chrysanthemums
I find myself longing so much
I want to embrace both the wind and the sky.

12. Poem: August Arrives - Đình Khải
August is here...
Written by: Đình Khải
Golden leaves fall along the narrow alley
The longan bunches on the tree have been harvested
The scorching heat of summer slowly fades away
As autumn begins its approach.
Each morning, children rush to school
As the new school year begins
August comes like a hurried call
As autumn arrives and the cold winter draws near.

13. Poem: August Approaching by Your Side - Lâm Bình
August Approaches by Your Side
Poem by: NS Lâm Bình
The days grow short
While the nights stretch endlessly...
There are words we still haven't spoken...
July passes quickly in a rush
August arrives, filled with distant memories...
Like a silent river, flowing restlessly
Draining the sweetness of falling drops
Fragile before the wind, waiting for autumn's arrival
The silk dress sways, caught halfway...
You quickly appear and disappear
Bringing autumn inside me, quietly.

14. Poem: Autumn Happiness - Trần Diệu Hương
Autumn Happiness
Written by: Trần Diệu Hương
Oh, August, I can feel the changing season
Autumn has arrived, so gentle and soft
The sunlight is light, and the breeze seems to stop
The scent of milk flowers fills the air with haste.
I love you, kissing your soft lips
Your cheeks flushed, the fragrance of gardenias in your hair
My heart aches for your youthful years so precious
But now I return, no more tears, my dear.
I can still hear the autumn dew falling endlessly
Glistening, it stops like sorrow in my lashes
The melody of love plays softly on the strings
In the warmth of autumn night, happiness stays with me.

15. Poem: August - Doan Km Oanh
August
Author: Doan Kim Oanh
As the summer rains fade away
August skies clear up again
High above, the kites glide through the air
Whose hands let them fly today?
The sweet scent of autumn fills the air
Here are the persimmons and guavas we share
At the corner of the house, the pomelo tree bears its fruit
Overflowing with bounty right at the doorstep
I recall those far-off autumns
With lotus leaves carried to school
Everyone seems to hurry along
To meet their friends before class
August, don’t leave too soon
Let me wait for you with longing
The milk flowers scatter outside the gate
Will you make it back before the evening bell rings?

16. Poem: Autumn for You - Le Huong
Autumn for You
Author: Le Huong
I write a poem for you in August
In Hanoi, where the autumn sky dons a new coat
A Hanoi touched by the distant autumn breeze...
At the end of the street, who waits for whom?
I write for you through the long miles of longing
My words tremble, filling the paper
If we had known our hearts were this intertwined
Autumn wouldn’t carry this sorrow and loneliness.
Let autumn come so we can miss each other more
I won’t resent the autumn season anymore
For I know our love is like a fire
Burning with desire in the vast sea of memories.

17. Poem: August Rain - Quang Lam
August Rain
Author: Quang Lam
The first rain of August
Falls heavily, day and night
The sorrow lingers through sleepless hours
The wind blows cold against the doorstep
A faint scent of milk flowers drifts by
Carrying the strong aroma in the breeze
The elder sister of the family
Everything has been cleared up.

18. Poem: August is Here - Trinh Thanh Hang
August is Here
Author: Trinh Thanh Hang
August is here, do you still remember, my love?
The gentle autumn breeze carries those cherished days
The golden butterfly rests on my shoulder
While a little girl gazes at me secretly.
August arrives with the flutter of a white dress
The scent of young rice fills the air, teasing the breeze
Golden leaves blanket the path we once walked
Those passionate promises, locked in our eyes and lips.
August is here, and with it, the sighs of farewell
Red firecracker petals mark the steps of a girl
Do you hear the wind whispering my heart's sorrow?
My heart has died, my eyes filled with tears.
August is here, go on, just leave me be
I will stay behind, folding the summer into memories
So that one day, when evening shadows fall
We’ll remember each other, and open the past to relive.
August is here, do you still remember, my love...
Poetry by Trinh Thanh Hang

19. Poem: Hello August - Sáu Mai
Hello August
Author: Sáu Mai
He left July behind
Welcoming August with the fragrant scent of milk flowers
Tiny white petals scattered by the window
The season in Thạch Thành looks beautiful, doesn't it, dear?
The walls no longer have the green moss
Wiping away the traces of the old rainy month
And my heart is no longer asleep
Lost in a never-ending dream of love
You walk with me through every corner of love
Waiting for sunset to admire the beauty of the flamboyant tree
I rest on your shoulder, foolishly wondering
Why do flowers bloom only at night?
You laugh and say, "The officer will not explain further!"
I tug at your ear, chasing you down the street
Feigning a sore foot, I refuse to walk
I stubbornly sulk for no reason
So August arrives, and you can’t just ignore it
I pick flowers for you, the ones you adore
The playful wind messes with your hair
The ripe soursop tree smells of sweet fruit that I eat
Every love goes through its share of challenges
August arrives, bringing much happiness
And my heart keeps urging me on
Holding your hand, let’s walk down the street to greet August, my love!

20. Poem: Sunlit Flowers of Autumn - Nguyễn Nguyệt Anh
Sunlit Flowers of Autumn
Author: Nguyễn Nguyệt Anh
I walk alone, gathering the lonely sunshine
To warm my lips, a little sigh of love
The purple sunset falls over this land of memories
The sea murmurs angrily as the wind blows without words.
Oh August..!
Tell the rain not to be angry...
For I fear the slippery roads, cold and forlorn
Let me forget the pain in my heart
Let me be happy with rosy cheeks.
After being away, do you still think of me?
Or have you forgotten the sweetness of days gone by
Let the sorrowful rain pour its sadness down
Soak the soul of poetry with words of sadness.
I miss you and long for the days
Returning to the land of my roots, happily exploring
The river flowing gently, sparkling in peace
The soft sunlight reflecting the golden autumn in your eyes.
