1. Poem: FIRST RAIN OF SUMMER - Phan Thu Hà
FIRST RAIN OF SUMMER
Phan Thu Hà
The rain you bring cools the entire summer,
Chasing away the heat that lingered for days.
It refreshes every leaf and petal,
And suddenly, I long for a kiss once more.
I am mesmerized by the clear petals of the purple flower,
The glassy shade of violet reminding me of ink from days gone by.
The laughter of someone, sweet as the season’s first rain,
Soaks into my heart, refreshing like raindrops.
Your rain stirs forgotten dreams,
A summer where the lotus bloomed so grand.
The first kiss I ever felt, with a fragrance of lotus in the breeze,
My heart races with the waves of the full moon.
As the rain leaves, you return to past months,
The last summer, filled with memories of a farewell letter.
There is no shock at the first thunderstorm,
Just a girl watching the flowers fall, familiar on the streets.
And I, alone, running beneath your rain...

2. Poem: JUNE RAIN, MY DEAR - Nga Vũ
JUNE RAIN, MY DEAR
Nga Vũ
It’s June, and the rain is abundant, isn’t it?
Each drop stings, as it blinds my eyes with its sorrow.
The wind is light, but it’s enough to tangle my hair,
My small hands can’t stop the rain from wetting my lashes.
Have you forgotten the road where the leaves fall?
We used to laugh and talk in the distance.
Even if the rain comes, I couldn’t care less,
You never cared enough to shelter me from the wind!
The June sky is as dry as a girl’s mood,
One moment she cries, the next she laughs, as rain and sun intertwine.
My hands feel lost, unfamiliar to yours,
They belong to someone else, leaving me longing for something more...
Oh June, my dear! Each drop falls with such aching longing,
Bubbles of sadness break, unnoticed by anyone.
My fingers catch each dark drop,
Or perhaps it’s just my eyes, clouded with grey.
Yes, my dear, it’s because I miss you so much,
The world tilts, and so do I.
Wavering, I can’t name this sorrow,
As June bends the promises we made.
Goodbye, my dear, I will return to where it all began,
The place where we once met, now covered in moss.
I carry in my heart the tears that never stayed,
As the storm pushes away June’s rain...
Don’t come back, I won’t be waiting for you...

3. Poem: THE LOTUS SEASON OF THAT YEAR - Trần Thanh Nhàn
THE LOTUS SEASON OF THAT YEAR
Trần Thanh Nhàn
The June lotus seems to pull the hands of the gatherers,
The afternoon over West Lake is covered in mist.
Who colored the boat with red hues of the setting sun,
As the purple tint lingers, a reminder of love lost.
I return under a rain from another time,
Plucking large lotus leaves to shield us from the storm.
In the rain, the world draws closer,
Our hands clasped together, hurriedly entwined.
Clumsy as I am, the rain doesn't pause for me,
It rushes through, soaking us in its wake.
You remain indifferent, and I blame the rain for its haste,
Leaving June's lotus season to linger forever in our hearts...

4. Poem: JUNE RAIN - Tony Bui
JUNE RAIN
Poem: Tony Bui
The afternoon rain scatters like the wings of a bird,
Leaving one lost, wondering what to find in poetry.
The sea of love remains, who is still waiting?
The old riverbank in dreams calls out to be found.
Destiny rises and falls, like waves in the current,
Life pushes and pulls, leaving a heart heavy with sorrow.
The tears blend with the pouring rain,
While the winds carry memories, the clouds refuse to lift.
I long for the one who drinks the rain’s bitter sweetness,
Feeling the pain in every drop, a heart full of longing.
So many sleepless nights spent waiting,
Hoping for a conversation, for warmth and tenderness.
Far from you, the longing weighs on me,
Missing your jewel-like eyes and your rosy lips.
Yearning for the warmth of your embrace,
Wishing for the sweetness of a kiss that softens my lips.
Where has my youth gone?
The summer rains once made life bloom in beauty.
How I wish we could live under one roof,
Sharing joy, happiness, and singing together through life.

5. Poem: THE FLOODING RAIN - Pham Quang Thu
THE FLOODING RAIN
Pham Quang Thu
The sky darkens, a storm is near
No one believes it, just moments ago it was bright and clear
The next moment, rain pours down
The sound of the rain like stones crashing on a drum
The rain falls, bubbles rise and fall
The yard is flooded, no way for the water to escape
One night of summer rain pours down
The streets unfamiliar with the stream of water flowing on the pavement
Leaves and flowers fall, mourning the storm
The rain is fierce, the streetlights glow dimly
Shadows cast, umbrellas sheltering
Figures moving faintly along the wet sidewalk
Yesterday the streets were packed tight
But tonight, the rain drowns out the city, silent and deep
I wonder, has your heart returned yet
Or are you still tangled in the past, delayed and lost in the rain!

6. Poem: THIS AFTERNOON'S RAIN - Hoa Dien Vy
THIS AFTERNOON'S RAIN
Hoa Dien Vy
Is the rain this afternoon as sad as it was that day
When your eyes sparkled like beads of dew?
Which chrysanthemum dazes in the midst of the blooms
Its fragile petals swaying, falling gently on unfamiliar grass?
The droplets connect, swelling, dissolving the summer heat
The earth quenches its thirst, gulping down the rain in a blissful trance.
What rain could compare to this June afternoon's shower
When your small hand could not hold all the memories that it carries?
In that moment, two people wandered the streets
The breeze faintly pushing the forgotten wind
The water danced, sparkling on your lips
Thirsty, you bent down and drank from the raindrops…
The rain this afternoon emptied my heart, I longed to drink
As teardrops softly fell, catching the curve of your eyelashes...

8. Poem: SUMMER RAIN - Bui Van Huy
SUMMER RAIN
Bui Van Huy
There was a summer rain
Passing through the school years
A rain that seemed so strange!
It turned all the verses purple
The rain chased the wind
Excited and full of song
The rain poured down the narrow road
On the canopy of the old tamarind tree
The rain made the phoenix flowers bloom
It drenched the sound of cicadas
The rain gently touched cheeks flushed with youth
As dove eyes fluttered with joy
The rain left sadness in the yearbook
Soaked the sky of youth
Eyes blurred with tears
In the midst of the lingering summer rain
The rain trickled, tapping gently
Hesitant, swayed by the breeze
Some rain fell with a light giggle
Bringing the scattered summer back...

Ve than thở từng giờ em mong đợi!
Anh yêu ơi! mãi ở xa vời vợi
Cuối hè rồi em đành đợi sang ngâu
Ngày anh về mình đoàn tụ bên nhau
Em sẽ trao cả bầu trời tình ái
Hai chúng ta mãi quyện thành một dải
Thế giới này còn lại anh và em!

10. Poem: ENCOUNTERING THE RAIN - Duy Hạnh Trần
ENCOUNTERING THE RAIN
Poem by Duy Hạnh Trần
The first rain of summer
Unexpectedly spreads across the streets
The white dress trailing behind
Softly brushing against gazes.
On the porch, avoiding the downpour
Lost in unfinished thoughts
Suddenly, someone rushes by
With an umbrella, heading my way.
A lone bird flutters in the rain
Hesitating amidst the downpour
The umbrella just big enough
For two to walk side by side.
The wind pushes ahead
You hope the rain won't hurry
Because now, by your side,
Take your time, rain, take your time!
Two sparrows meet the rain
The sky wide, wings flying high
And here I am, every day
With you always by my side.

11. Poem: JUNE RAIN - Thanh Tam
JUNE RAIN
Author: Thanh Tam
June has arrived, do you know it?
The purple flowers fall, filling my heart with sorrow
The rain pours down, carrying all my longing
Filling my soul with hopes unspoken
June comes with a sense of endless sadness
My eyes well up with tears that refuse to fall
Each droplet seems to echo my loneliness
Falling quietly like whispers of despair
June has passed, yet the pain remains hidden
My heart is cold, my soul heavy with grief
I call your name in my silent ache
With eyes full of tears, my heart yearns for you
June, I remember you with sadness, longing for your touch
Holding on to dreams of joy and peace
At night, I hear the soft patter of the rain
My heart aches as I miss you dearly
I send my soul to sleep in the warmth of our memories
Bringing back the peace of those past days
I send June's breeze to your side
Hoping to calm your heart and ease your worries

12. Poem: JUNE RAIN - Dao Manh Thanh
JUNE RAIN
Dao Manh Thanh
The June rain carries the last rays of sunlight away
Leaving behind memories, drops of sorrow falling
The crimson petals of the flame tree flutter gently
As the purple flowers fade, lost in the distance
The old schoolyard, now blurred by June's rain
The clusters of flame trees drift away with the wind
The cicadas' calls hum, almost as if to confess
Whispers of love and longing, parting in the summer's heat
The schoolyard is empty, footsteps no longer there
As summer heat lingers, and exams have passed
The June rain carries the flame trees' sadness far away
While the purple flowers fade, their memory lingering
The summer rain gently guides the falling petals
All the longing drifts away with the current
A fleeting moment of longing, swaying between dreams
The innocence of youth, stepping into the unknown
The last summer rain brings back forgotten promises
Rekindling memories of the vows we once made
Even though we are far apart, the longing persists
As the summer rain pours, filling my heart with grief

13. Poem: SAD RAIN, MISSING YOU - Tran Tuyet Tuyet
SAD RAIN, MISSING YOU
Tran Tuyet Tuyet
This morning, the clouds seem to gather for a celebration
The sky turns gray, heavy with sorrow
The world is submerged in stillness
As I sit, counting the raindrops that fall
Yet my heart is filled with longing
Singing softly... in a lullaby of dreams
Alone, I wait and hope
For love that stretches far across distant lands
Oh, my love, why does this longing hurt so?
My heart stirs restlessly, waiting for your return
My eyes are filled with sadness, searching far away
For the one who writes love poems for me
Do you also miss me, my love?
Is your heart aching for the girl who's so far away?
Even the rain is sorrowful,
Whispering my silent, endless longing
Oh, rain, I am waiting
For a day when the flowers bloom with fragrance
When you return, bringing joy and laughter
And love fills my heart, sweet and warm!

14. Poem: RAIN! - Nguyen Thi Khanh Ha
RAIN!
Nguyen Thi Khanh Ha
Listen to the earth breathe
The clouds drift by, without a care
The summer rain pours down
Blanketing the sky in white
The raindrops sway in the wind
Some close, others far
The flowers smile, buds beginning to bloom
Like a thousand songs filling the air
The summer rain falls, near and far
Soaking the streets, blurring the view
The fields stretch wide, embracing the sky
The vastness of the world unfurls
The earth thirsts, waiting
For the rain to bring peace
The grass, trees, and flowers
Stir and grow with renewed life

15. Poem: REBIRTH - Hong Vu
REBIRTH
Hong Vu
You are like the blazing summer,
Radiating warmth that stretches across the endless blue sky.
It burns away all that I am,
Turning me to dust in the furnace of your fire.
As the summer storm rises, I am swept away.
I dissolve into the clouds, lingering within your embrace.
Flowing with endless melodies of peace,
Turning into summer rain falling on barren soil.
The dry trees and thirsty branches begin to wither,
Drinking in the cool, refreshing rain you bring.
Filling the earth with life’s lifeblood,
The leaves dance, singing their secret tune with the rain.

16. Poem
FIRST RAINS OF THE SEASON
Dinh Khai
The summer has arrived,
The trees stand still and silent.
Not a single breeze passes through,
And suddenly, clouds appear from near and far,
Rumbling and drawing closer.
Under the sunny sky, darkness falls,
Flashes of lightning and thunder roar from all directions.
The first raindrops fall on the front yard,
Water rushing through the streets and alleys.
The storm rages on, rain and wind pouring down,
Who knows when the winds and rain will cease?
I suddenly think of you, unsure where you are,
Are you sheltered somewhere safe from the storm?
I want to throw myself into the storm,
To search for you,
Where are you now?

17. Poem: REMEMBERING THE SUMMER RAIN - Nghi Lam
REMEMBERING THE SUMMER RAIN
Poem by: Nghi Lam
I met you one bright autumn afternoon,
Under the old school roof, covered with moss.
The love for the phoenix flowers lingered,
Some pink petals remained from the summer just past.
Then, from the very first moment, still shy,
You gently stepped closer to me.
You looked up, admiring the vast sky,
Whispering words of love, innocent and pure.
On that afternoon trip, the rain shook the branches,
We leaned on each other the entire way.
Your beautiful dress, though wet and wrinkled,
Was warm, and the chill no longer bothered us.
Time slowly faded, leaving us in solitude,
Memories rushing back, too brief and fleeting.
The farewell notes with fading ink,
Now no longer have the companion who once walked beside me.
Today, these verses convey what words can't,
Sent to the one far away,
That I carry you in my heart, full of longing,
WATCHING THE SUMMER RAIN... AND REMEMBERING THE DAYS WITH YOU!

18. Poem: SUMMER AND YOUR RAIN - Hoang Cham
SUMMER AND YOUR RAIN
Poem by: Hoang Cham
One of me... one of you... and a crescent moon,
Fading slowly,
A bit of weariness... still lingering.
The summer rain... sorrow born from that moment,
Have you returned yet... with a tilted shoulder?
The summer rain,
It feels as though the afternoon has dropped low,
Shadows reflecting on a distant past.
You stop, pitying a once familiar shoulder,
Worn-out clothes,
Memories fading with time.
The summer rain,
Droplets of the afternoon carry longing,
Far from me, like an endless sea,
You stand in the rain,
Pouring out your regrets,
Untangling the pain,
The passing days filled with both emptiness and fullness.
One of me... one of you... one apart,
The time of love,
The rainy days, forever in my thoughts,
Whispering each other's names,
In the summer rain,
I return to the land of fairytales,
And you hide your pain in the quiet of the afternoon.

19. Poem: HEY, RAIN! - Ha Nguyen
HEY, RAIN!
Ha Nguyen
Keep being as sweet as you are, oh rain!
With each drop soaking the dry earth,
So gentle, so gentle, it's almost too much to bear,
As if you're just learning how to love.
Pouring rain this afternoon,
Washing away everything left unsaid,
Under the shelter, we stand, waiting,
Our meeting fleeting, like the rhythm of life.
Impulsive, no rain!
Pouring relentlessly, our eyes meet then turn away, embarrassed,
How many times have we laughed, innocent, timeless,
Spreading our hands—believing, forever cherishing in life.
Slowly, rain, please!
Don’t fade away like those last words,
Bring your faith into the world, exchanging it for something more,
Bring your love and gamble it with the world...
11/6/2019, Ha Nguyen's poem.

20. Poem: SAD SUMMER - Vọng Thanh
SAD SUMMER
Vọng Thanh
We both fall silent,
So still, while the street corner watches,
Its darkened shade lingering.
What are you searching for?
In a place where we are far apart,
While the night scatters its sorrow like drifting tears.
Where's the rain?
The ripe fruits have fallen
Under the shade of the mù u tree.
Who sings a lullaby, a sad tune,
Of a sorrowful summer?
The rain arrives
From the dusk's embrace,
Love's words unspoken, yet tinged with bitterness.
Oh, how small we are...
...Let’s go home,
Pick up the scattered pieces of life,
To listen as June stirs softly,
Whispering its mournful tale.
Vọng Thanh
