1. Poem: Red Dot - Phan Huy Hùng
Red Dot
Author: Phan Huy Hùng
Hanoi marks a red dot
The sun fans the embers of the stove
In the early morning, the banyan tree sheds its leaves
In the middle of the summer night, the street is bare-chested.
Hoan Kiem Lake is cool and green
Suddenly, someone boils water
The cicadas shed their skins
The flames of the phoenix flowers flicker.
The stream of people and vehicles continues
Someone wraps a scarf over their face
The street emits steam that burns
The caged birds stop singing - lying still?
Hanoi’s well lies in your eyes
It soothes the flesh and skin
The red dot!
The poem cools the heat
Suddenly, the blue of the streets turns calm!

2. Poem: Hanoi, the Sun and I - Bùi Thế Uyên
Hanoi, the Sun and I
Author: Bùi Thế Uyên
Oh Hanoi, I love you in your scorching heat
My heart burns on these long, hot nights
The streets at night are empty, waiting for someone
Yearning for a breeze to cool my burning shoulders.
In the evening, without you, the streets feel lonely
My soul burns from the absence of rain
I silently wish for a gentle breeze
Enough to make my lips soft and sweet.
Hanoi, your heat scorches my soul
I long for the summer rain to fall
For our love to grow a thousand times more passionate
Soaked in the fire of love...

3. Poem: Hanoi is Burning Thirsty - Trần Diệu Hương
Hanoi is Burning Thirsty
Author: Trần Diệu Hương
The sun scorches the earth, dry and barren
The suffocating heat is so real, my friend
The sun burns like fire in the sky
Charring the branches of the phoenix flowers, falling without end.
Hanoi, you've never been this hot before
Let's head to distant shores
Where the sunlight bathes in warmth
Waves gently caressing the sand in harmony.
Gaze at the moonlight by the doorstep, my dear
Softly kiss and fall into a dreamy embrace
The heat sears like fire, like this
Hanoi...
Burning...
Thirsty...
Rain...
Filling the river with pearls.

4. Poem: Sunshine - Đỗ Thị Phương Lan
Sunshine
Author: Đỗ Thị Phương Lan
The sunshine, the sunshine is here,
The sky so high, so clear
The birds chirp on the branches
The sunshine colors the flowers, making them more beautiful.
The sun shines down on the empty street
The sunlight dances around
The sun climbs the leaves
The sunshine teases those passing by.
The sun shines on the courtyard
Drying and roasting the leaves
The breeze stirs gently
As the leaves fall from the previous night.
The sunlight floods the rice fields
The corn and rice dance and smile
The sun gathers its golden hue
To help the grains ripen more fully.
The sunshine laughs in your garden
Hundreds of flowers bloom in its warmth
The sun enhances the beauty of the flowers
Adding color to the world...

5. Poem: Sending Rain to Hanoi for You - Lê Hương
Sending Rain to Hanoi for You
Author: Lê Hương
I’m in Saigon, in the midst of the rainy season
At night, I still cuddle with the blanket you once gave me
Knowing Hanoi, your home, is in the grip of intense heat
No need for a stove, you’re frying eggs under the sky.
The weeping willows burn on the trellis, the pond struggles to evaporate
The old turtle rises, mourning for those seeking shade..
The young ladies no longer show off their light clothes
Now, they are nothing but moving blankets on the streets.
Tar sticks to the tires as you rush to school
The ice cubes fail to freeze in time, poor refrigerator
The roadside stalls are dripping with thick sweat
The old phoenix tree stands lonely, no visitors to speak of.
I wish I could send rain to you
Wrap my love and the sweetness of a cooling shower
So Hanoi’s afternoon rain could soothe the heat
Couples could walk together by the vast West Lake.
Remember to wait for me to send the rain.

6. Hanoi ...Thirsty
Hanoi ...Thirsty
Poem by Trịnh Thanh Hằng
The sun, oh the sun, too hot as never before
The trees wither, flowers no longer bloom
Hanoi, oh Hanoi, a scorching cauldron of red fire
Four years of heat, but perhaps still not enough.
No sight of delicate figures anywhere
The long dress waves in the breeze
Streets and alleys, oh how they repeat day and night
With the echo of the distant bells calling for peace.
The clusters of flamboyant blossoms at the edge of the roof barely stir
The sad leaves whisper a melancholy tune
The gentle breeze sways the quiet trees
Bringing the rain to quench the thirst.
Hanoi, oh Hanoi, I will be the cool breeze
Soft and sweet, bringing clouds to your side
So the trees will no longer thirst, drenched with dew
And the flowers bloom again, fluttering in white attire.
Then we will walk along the flower-lined path
Gently beneath the falling raindrops
The world suffocates from the heat, day after day
All will melt away in the summer’s rain.

7. Poem: Hanoi’s New Summer - Vu Nga
Hanoi’s New Summer
Poem by: Vu Nga
Hanoi, so gentle in the morning sun today
Once again, I miss your eyes from that summer afternoon
So teary with those partings of the past
We promised that winter would return with a wedding dress shining bright.
How many seasons have passed, and the winds still roam
Where are you, white skies with small chrysanthemums
The birds, we both loved them so
Hidden in the heart, a memory lingering.
I still gaze at the old sunlight wandering
Suddenly, I realize my hand feels so lonely
At night, lying on leaves, I dream of something strange
And you return with flowers and grass soaked in dew.
Hanoi of ours back then was truly woven with tenderness
The clouds so blue, the rainbow so beautiful
You in my arms, so sweet, so deep
Dreaming of a wedding season filled with the scent of flowers.
Now, Hanoi bows its head, silently cherishing the love....

8. Poem: Summer's Call - Dao Manh Thach
Summer's Call
Poem by: Dao Manh Thach
The promise, May brings memories
The areca trees cast shadows along the path
The conical hat hides a passion from the past
The narrow village road on a summer afternoon.
The breeze carries the buzzing sounds of cicadas
The setting sun paints your cheeks with a rosy glow
The evening clouds hang lightly in the sky
As my hurried steps echo the longing in my heart.
How many emotions in the summer’s first light
By the familiar yard, your hair flowing with bare feet
Your dreamy eyes stare into the distance
Lost in the memories of May, full of longing.
We return to the land of our love from that time
Searching for the old silhouette tucked deep within
Fading now, what’s left of that yearning
Yet the weight of longing still lingers strangely.
A fleeting life of wanderers, where’s the love to be found?
The old mulberry tree still stands in silence
The land of longing holds on, does it still echo in your heart...

9. Poem: The Golden Summer Sun - Tong Thu Ngan
The Golden Summer Sun
Poem by: Tong Thu Ngan
The summer sun turns golden, do you know?
The gentle sea breeze blushes your cheeks
The waves crash wildly on the shore
While I remain tangled in the threads of my heart.
The golden sun rests on your hair
Spring walks gracefully past the door
Silk dresses flutter, dreaming of golden hues
Beyond, the reeds dance in the soft breeze.
The sun has returned, singing a joyful tune
Spring, ripe and full, exudes such charm
A little squirrel climbs the grapefruit tree
And a flower blooms, full of grace and charm.
The golden summer sun now intoxicates
Though the old season still lingers on
In this stormy love, I beg you to stop
For a season of love has been fully filled.

10. Poem: The Pink Dream of May - Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh
The Pink Dream of May
Poem by: Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh
In May, the phoenix flowers bloom and cover the sky
The cicadas call loudly, the sun shines brilliantly.
The breeze whispers as it strolls along
Golden rice ripens in the countryside fields.
May is radiant with the colors of flowers
The purple jacaranda still gracefully faithful.
Reminders in the yearbook keep memories close
Pressed flowers hold our shared promise.
May carries with it all our hopes
The white school uniforms weighed down by nostalgia.
Goodbyes echo through the schoolyard
Yet my heart still clings to the memory of one.
Goodbye, May, with your full heart
You carry all the wishes of the sky above.
May nurtures the pink dream
And promises a meeting for the ones who are loved.

11. Poem: Sunset Over West Lake - Lan Vuong
Sunset Over West Lake
Poem by: Lan Vuong
The sunset quietly bends the red horizon
West Lake glistens, the wind sweeps in with passion.
A serene painting spreads its charm
The soul of Vietnam floats in a paradise lost.
Far, the lone tree stands shrouded in mist
Golden light swirls with the echo of a flute.
Who walks gracefully, soft and fair?
Waves ripple gently, the boat glides through endless beauty.
The evening stills the immortal world
Feet adrift, the heart easily lost in wonder.
In contemplation, waiting patiently
For the one who leaves behind whispers of longing.

12. Poem: May Sunshine - Sơn Nữ
May Sunshine
Poem by: Sơn Nữ
The summer sun arrives, shining on familiar flower beds.
The sunlight falls, resting on the hair of one who waits.
Today, summer smells of the new month,
Like planting seeds that tremble in the first taste of love.
Faraway phoenix flowers, falling beneath the evening rain.
You stand here, caught in the downpour of passion.
Your lips are the scent of summer's love,
Sadness lingers, the traces of your steps left behind.
My love, do you feel it, far across the sky?
Does the rain make your heart ache in longing?
Do you hear the sorrowful afternoons,
Yearning, or does your heart ache, lost in thought?
As the cicadas continue their restless search,
Forgetting how deep the sorrow has settled.
In my heart, there is no distance,
Just like the months, the sunshine never fades away.
Restlessly, I write these verses,
Memories of love, of waiting for the days gone by.
I hope for the day our paths will cross again,
Forever in my heart, keeping our memories alive!

13. Poem: Rising Sun - Hải Tiến Đỗ
Rising Sun
Poem by: Hải Tiến Đỗ
The street is empty, summer arrives in a strange way.
The morning sun rises, hot and fierce, throwing its rays.
The golden threads fall, lifeless and drifting,
Eyes open, waiting, half lost in thought.
Shivering, the sunlight clings, its warmth heavy with longing.
People pass through the golden threads, indifferent.
I am ashamed of feeling this restless,
For I long for rain while the sun remains, so strange.
The evening sky remains unchanged, intoxicated by the sun.
The flowers of sunlight pierce the gaps... a peaceful charm.
Amidst the leaves of green, the light shimmers,
The sidewalk becomes a canvas, painted with the golden hues of dusk.
The sunset's golden shadow spreads, radiating love.
Your hair flows like clouds, carried by the wind... as the sunset dreams.
Ho Tay, as beautiful as a poem,
Waves gently kiss the shore, caressing it softly.
I wish the summer sun would last longer,
For lovers' promises, calling each other's names.
Ho Guom, with its green waters untouched,
Across all seasons, the sunshine continues to rise.

14. Poem: Rising Sun - Phạm Thị Hồng Thu
Rising Sun
Poem by: Phạm Thị Hồng Thu
Waiting eagerly for the sun to rise
To send my love to distant lands,
The birds chirp, causing the trees to sway,
The cicadas call, bringing joy to the children.
The kite carries dreams high,
Swaying with the feelings of longing, morning and evening.
The long road ahead, heavy with burdens,
Flickers with the shadow of my mother, filled with concerns.
Thinking back to those days, with love and care,
My mother, with her silver hair, exuding a sweet fragrance.
The blankets, bathed in sunlight, radiate warmth,
And all the love and longing are packed away to be sent during winter.
Summer arrives, with its rich golden rays,
The vastness of white clouds, quenching every thirst.

15. Poem: The Promise - Hương Giang
The Promise
Poem by: Hương Giang
On a warm spring afternoon, sunlight gently caresses the small feet,
And I stand by your side, my rosy lips blooming bright.
Our hearts, once weary from waiting, now find peace,
As the fragrant lilies fill the corners of the street.
The promise we made on a rainy evening,
Is etched deeply within the heart’s quiet chambers.
Day after day, we quietly wish for a reunion,
To meet once more and witness the white blossoms of the pear tree.
Hand in hand by the calm waters of Hoan Kiem Lake,
Leaning close, we whisper words of love.
Our hearts beat to the rhythm of a drifting tune,
Filled with longing and the sweetness of passion shared.
Wait for me, no matter how far apart we are,
The memory of love lingers, vivid in the soul.
My heart, full of yearning, beats with restlessness,
As waves of affection continue to surge within.

16. Poem: Hanoi and I - Nghĩa Trần
Hanoi and I
Poem by: Nghĩa Trần
Autumn is calling, summoning the young man,
The sea stirs the heart, gently rocking the waves,
The wind sings sweet lullabies as it passes the doorstep,
And I remember Hanoi and you... my beloved.
I long to steer the boat of flowers to the harbor,
I seek to find my beloved, my dearest one,
To embrace autumn together, walking down familiar streets,
The golden sun casting its glow and mingling with the scent of milk flowers.
A dreamscape woven between the two of us,
Vowing to always be each other's support,
The flame of love radiates in vibrant hues,
I will come to you, bringing my solemn vow.
Next autumn, wait for me, my love,
The breeze, soft and gentle, stirs longing in my heart,
A young man will come from the East Sea,
Bringing a wedding ring and a heart of love.
May our love remain steady and deep,
Forever bound by love, welcoming you home,
Though I wait for you to return to our homeland,
A wedding feast will be set with my beautiful bride.

17. Poem: Summer Comes - Nam Bùi
Summer Comes
Poem by: Nam Bùi
Do you know, summer has arrived?
The cicadas replace their phoenix-feathered coats, bursting with blooms.
The sun flaunts its vibrant colors,
The clouds linger, hesitating at the farthest edge of the sky.
Summer brings the memory of distant calls,
Who brings fire and stirs the air with restlessness?
Who nudges with a cheerful greeting,
Encouraging the morning bird’s song to start the day?
Summer reminds me of parting moments,
The school gate filled with sorrow, ink bleeding into blurry tears.
Turning the pages of old notebooks,
The elegant, slanted handwriting still speaks of those gentle times.
Summer arrives, urging us to remember,
To never forget the innocent confessions we once made.
Time does not wait,
But hearts still linger in the quiet longing of every passing moment.
In this summer, you weave dreams that drift,
Intertwining flowers with sweet affection and intoxicating beauty.
I bring a jar of honey, filled to the brim,
To offer to these red flowers, lost in their passionate glow!

18. Poem: Hanoi's Blazing Sun of Love - Nguyễn Lan Hương
Hanoi's Blazing Sun of Love
Author: Nguyễn Lan Hương
Love dries up beneath the summer sun,
Even smiles seem to vanish into the heat.
Hanoi today bears the scorch of the midday sun,
The streets slump beneath the weight of its warmth.
The willow tree stands lost beside Hoan Kiem Lake,
The benches sag, clutching at lost dreams.
The trees appear faint, weary beneath the sun's relentless rays,
Longing for a passing rain to quench the thirst of the day.
The traffic winds its way in search of shade,
The scorching street burning the soles of familiar feet.
Suddenly, I stumble upon your smile,
Chasing away the blazing heat of July.
Hanoi's sun seems to be melting away,
Yet it gently rekindles the warmth of every love.

19. Poem: July Sun - Hoàng Minh Tuấn
July Sun!
Poem: Hoàng Minh Tuấn
July arrives, and the sun shines down on Hanoi,
The flame-red phoenix flowers glow in the heat,
The streets fall silent as the midday sun beats,
Only the hum of traffic remains in the air.
My dearest, if you plan to come back,
Please, hold off your return this July,
The sun, sun, sun, makes the road feel like fire,
Love, love, love, I ask you not to hurry home!
Do you still feel the passion in our love, dear?
It burns in my heart like the fiery sun,
Waiting for the golden glow of summer to deepen our affection,
Come back to Hanoi, my love, won't you?
Even though the July sun feels like it could scorch the earth,
And set the city ablaze,
My love for you remains unwavering, I will wait,
For autumn to return and forever cherish our love.

20. Poem: Hanoi's Sun - Phạm Hồng Giang
Hanoi's Sun!
Author: Phạm Hồng Giang
Hanoi, why is it so hot, my dear?
Perhaps it's because our love hangs precariously.
The wind seems upset, angry, and forlorn.
Your path back, bathed in sunlight, sends your hair fluttering.
The sun of Hanoi this season seems to be entranced.
When I met you, it fulfilled all the longing days.
But somehow, it feels unfinished.
West Lake feels sorrowful, with waves gently rippling.
Is it because meeting each other was so difficult?
That our kiss still lingers with memories.
The Chương Dương Bridge, with its embrace unsure.
Leaving someone longing, where even breaths seem fragile.
This summer in Hanoi, the trees are sparse.
So the sun grows angry and sharp.
Unspoken love poems fade before they bloom.
As I walk away, the bitterness of farewell lingers.
Hanoi, what should I say to you?
My heart lingers ...
Clinging to the one who departs ...
The one who stays!
