1. Farewell to May
Poem by: Nguyễn Thị Hồng Hà
My love! We are about to part ways
There was no promise, yet the phoenix flowers blaze in farewell's red
May, the school memories, captured in the pages of our yearbook
With a sense of wistfulness.
My love! Do you still remember
Our first day at school, feeling so lost
The classroom, the teachers... and we, shy, hiding behind the door
Now, we are on the verge of saying goodbye.
My love!
The sky remains blue, just like the May days
The phoenix flowers are still red, symbolizing the old seasons
The pride of the purple flowers softly blooms in the schoolyard
And some eyes seem to drift into nostalgia.
My love!
Do you recall the rush when we fought over snacks
Or tried to dodge our duties
Some of us even cried
When the time to say goodbye came...
My love!
We will never again experience those days
So innocent and carefree
These memories will resurface when we tell our stories
In years to come.
My love!
The final season of the phoenix flowers marks the end of our school days
The banyan tree, which had been silent for years, now weeps
Only when it's time to leave do we realize how much we owe
To this place.

2. Fiery Summer
Poem by: Hoàng Hôn Tím
The phoenix calls for summer, May promises the season's arrival
The cicadas' hum rhythmically, forgetting the song
You still ask why your heart feels uneasy
The notes of melancholy drift, as the afternoon fades.
Let’s promise that today and tomorrow, we’ll say goodbye
The carefree days of school are no more
The red phoenix branches glow with love’s spark
As youthful passion flares, innocent yet intense.
The bell rings to signal the end, no need to wait
Flowers gently ask about the old poems from the past
You swear in the heat of passion
Your love remains strong, unchanged, doesn’t it, my dear?

3. Walking Through May
Poem by: Trần Lộc
May just stepped off the train
The platform bathed in sunlight, exchanging smiles and chatter
The umbrella weaves through the purple jacaranda branches
The sound of cicadas, playing the 'Major Scale - A sharp', echoes around.
May - unforgettable
The white Ban flowers bloomed in Dien Bien that year
The Xòe dance, a memory that stirs
We built our happiness, sending it to the mountains and forests.
May - a historic mark
The defeat of fascism echoed across the continents
The cries of liberation silenced years of suffering
The working class united across the globe.
May - the power of soft strength
Press freedom, the foundation of the people's rights.
The international workers' movement
Eight-hour workdays, resonating beautifully.
May - the scent of lotus fills the sky
Remembering our roots, honoring those who have passed
The compassionate heart, vast as the sea
Pulses with every beat, mingling with the waters and lands.

4. The Girl Born in May
Poem by: Trần Thanh Nhàn
I am just a girl born in May
The sun only warms your heart just enough
The breeze only cools our love
The clouds part just enough to lead us to paradise...
I am May, painting the sky with purple blooms
The sudden rain does not fade the falling petals
The delicate, gentle, and alluring jacaranda flowers
Silently revealing their beauty to the world!
When May arrives, do you feel lost
Sitting and counting the years on your trembling hands
Time rushes by so quickly
Leaving behind the imprint of a smile!
Like a bee sucking sweet nectar from the earth and sky
May sparkles with vibrant, radiant hues
The cicadas still sing, and the phoenix flowers remain red
And I am still the girl with a heart full of passion!
I am just a girl born in May!...

5. Memories of School Days
Poem by: Mai Tím
May arrives, with the constant buzz of cicadas
Feet counting their steps in the quiet
The red phoenix flowers bloom again, bringing the day of parting
Yet the love we shared remains unspoken.
Oh, May, let your emotions flow freely
Carrying the bittersweet memories of our school days
The stories we told, though incomplete and tangled
The truth now lost, as distance pulls us apart.
Oh, May, the love we shared was so deep
Before we could express it, we were already saying goodbye
The yearbook now marks our parting
With eyes full of sorrow, the words slowly fade away.
Oh, May! My heart trembles
Sending messages of goodbye with violet ink
The tears well up as we hold hands, reluctant to let go
The painful memories buried deep within our youthful dreams.

6. May and Longing
Poem by: Trương Túy Anh
May arrives, greeting the red phoenix flowers
The sky is bathed in green before the familiar path
Our hands intertwined... the years pass, yet never forgotten
The promises unspoken, the love still hidden.
Through countless seasons, the red phoenix blossoms again
I return to watch the petals fall
The cicadas sing where you stand waiting
My heart stirs, as I dig through the old memories...
The day we graduated, full of excitement and nerves
Remembering our teachers, the white chalk on the blackboard
We soared with dreams, shaping ourselves
To rise high, reaching far into the future.
We said goodbye, promising to meet again
Where are you now, will you wait for me?
We never made vows, yet I find myself waiting
Unspoken longing, deeply etched in my heart.
4/5/2020.

7. Farewell
Poem by: Mai Lan
Goodbye, April, full of memories so dear
We welcome May as the sun fills the streets
A touch of warmth swirls with every breeze
The road is bathed in the red of the blooming phoenix flowers.
I gift you a love song, full of waiting
The school day ends, yet I keep watching the street corner
Hoping to meet you, to share my thoughts
But somehow, we never cross paths.
This love lingers only in my poetry
You remain indifferent, leaving me in confusion
My soul drifts endlessly, waiting for your return
Now, you seem like a distant spring evening...
Now summer arrives, bringing warmth and light
Writing you a love song for the month of May
Wishing you eternal joy, forever young, like the full moon...
The red phoenix fills the sky
The cicadas sing, oh summer!

8. Sunshine
Poem by: Phan Dương
The rain and storms of April are gone
The radiant sunshine now comes with May.
The pond's surface still, with fish hidden away
The cat stretches, lying comfortably in peace.
The banyan tree spreads its leaves to dry
The cicadas have begun to sing and call each other.
Along the road, a few clumps of reeds sway
Whites dot the wilderness in the midst of solitude.
Once, I waited with a pounding heart
Now the sunshine warms even my sweetest dreams.
The sky is blue, and so are the trees
A season full of sunlight begins right here.
The birds chirp cheerfully in the canopy
Look, the sunflowers have showered the courtyard with light.
Come, let’s pause and embrace
Let the sunlight color us both once more...

9. May Comes
Poem by: Hoàng Minh Tuấn
May arrives, the streets buzz with activity
The purple flowers start to bloom, eager to unfold
The red phoenix flowers get ready to spread their bright hues
The sunshine of May fills the air with the scent of early summer.
May arrives, the sound of the school bell seems new
It feels like it’s urging the students forward
"Study with confidence, take responsibility yourself
Prepare well for the exams that are soon to come."
May arrives with countless promises and hopes
We meet each other with heartfelt goodbyes on the first days
And then, we no longer want to part
Lost in thought, wishing the road back was not so short.
May arrives, and with it, the fluttering white uniforms
The day of departure is near, truly near
Words of love never quite had the chance to shine
Will you still remember me when we part tomorrow?
May arrives, and the fragrance of lotus flowers seems to hold us back
The memory of a love once shared in the same school
Let the lotus flowers speak the unspoken words of affection
Oh, white uniforms, let’s meet again in the future!

10. Longing for May
Poem by: Hoàng Minh Tuấn
The purple flowers bloom in front of the house
Who do I long for, who remembers me... my heart is heavy
I keep hoping, waiting, watching
Through sleepless nights, I still don’t see the one I wait for
May has come again
Yet the person I long for is still far away
The sound of cicadas echoes my own yearning
Let them know, I wait for their return, perhaps soon
The phoenix flowers weep for the one who’s gone
Who lit the fire that makes the sky so heavy with longing?
The pink lotus also sends its sweet fragrance
As if it too is trying to call back the memories of love
May’s sun paints the riverside red
A kite dances to the melody of the countryside
The wind hums beside the casuarinas
Sending my longing back to that distant place
My friend from the days of youth
If you still remember, return to the old days
At the end of the village, by the riverbank
The one from long ago still waits, still lost in thought...

11. May and Summer
Poem by: Nga Vũ
Here comes May! The phoenix flowers are in tears again
Oh, the memories burn under the scorching summer sun
You sit there, something strange in the air
As the evening slants, it tears apart the whole sky
Have you ever felt memories stretch endlessly
The old pages cling to the remnants of the past
The red phoenix petals remind me of the warm sunlit days
The schoolyard still stands—one moment long gone
Have you ever forgotten the fleeting bloom of a season
Only to regret and feel guilty in your heart
You say nothing—the tilted hat, the troubled afternoon
Your eyes grow sad.... So far away, it’s fading away...
May—alone... yes, alone I stand.

12. Hello May
Poem by: Hoàng Minh Tuấn
With open arms, I greet May
Embracing the full moon’s memories, dreams so bright
The purple flowers summon the echoes of youth
Leading me back to familiar paths, filled with yearning
I pluck the purple flowers to offer you
Placing them in your hair, longing for enchanted dreams
Thus, destiny entwines our lives
Where talent meets love, and we build a life together
And now, after all these years
We walk hand in hand, no one can compare
It seems that the enduring purple hue
Of the flowers still calls out for us to wait
Now, that longing burns stronger than before
As I remember the past, it captivates my heart
And now May has come again
We hope, we wish for summer’s return
The passion and fervor still remain
The scent of the countryside, the warmth of old days
We are so happy together
May has arrived, and the desire for love persists.

13. May, the Season of Memories
Poem by: Sơn Nữ
The Phoenix flowers fall, their petals fill the schoolyard with joy
The vibrant red, like your youthful cheeks
Life’s blossoms bloom in shades of crimson
The summer’s warm light stirs the soul with gentle nostalgia
Books, once full of youthful poetry, still vivid
The days of youth never fading, forever fresh
The winds of summer carry the world in their breeze
And as the new season of sunshine arrives, eyes remain bright and pure
It reminds me of a time when love blossomed
When we held hands and promised the future
A day far away, a feeling so delicate
Fate seemed to weave its threads in our hearts, full of longing
Dreams of walking side by side one day
Of sharing the journey, both in our prime
The brilliant red Phoenix flowers bloom
As summer brings back memories of a time of dreams

14. May Carries the Summer
Poem by: Nguyễn Thị Hồng Hạnh
May arrives, bearing the weight of summer’s heat
And with it, the Phoenix flowers bloom in vibrant red.
The breeze stirs the sky above
And the petals of the flowers fall softly, drifting away.
May brings summer through the skies
And the purple-lavender flowers stand lonely by the roadside.
Each delicate petal flutters and drifts
Leaving behind a wistful, dreamy feeling in its wake.
May carries the scent of lotus through the village
Filling the air with memories of love once shared.
In quiet longing, I await the sweet warmth
Of a love that once was and still lingers in the heart.
May carries the summer into the schoolyard
Where farewells are whispered, and promises unspoken.
A time of white uniforms and dreamy thoughts
Where I shyly hid my letters, tucked away in my desk.
May carries summer endlessly
And with it, my heart swells with longing and joy.
May, you will always remain
For my love for you, dear, will never fade.

15. Waiting in May
Poem by: Nam Bùi
What memories stir and belong to you,
The rays of sunlight follow the thread of fate,
Granting you a thousand skies of longing,
Each soft embrace blooming with sweet colors.
Lulled by the warmth of the sun’s fading light,
The rain shyly dreams of peaches in bloom,
Still holding on to the moment from that day,
The passion of that instant, so deeply stirring.
Bringing out the colors of promises made, when we parted,
Vows echoing in the rhythm of a beating heart,
The rush of emotions flowing through like a torrent,
The intoxication of love unfolding and blooming.
Beloved, it’s still the warmth of your hand,
My longing wrapped in layers of blossoms and leaves,
The garden of love, filled with strange, fragrant flowers,
All melodies of tenderness offered to the month of May!

16. Touching the May Sun
Poem by: Lan Vương
The sun of May has just touched me,
Intoxicating like a heady breeze, as girls in the countryside bloom,
The wind howls, sharp and swift,
Echoing with the faint music of a kite’s song.
The pink lotus stands proudly in the garden of love,
The delicate hues of peach petals drift softly, lost in a sea of affection,
Each drop of summer sun shines brightly,
The clouds linger like the shadow of someone dear.
Touching the new sunlight, a fresh page turns,
My heart surges with a thirst for that crimson warmth,
Here lies love, full of meaning,
A deep affection as we meet once more, bound by passion.

17. The Wandering May
Have you ever returned to the May of the past,
When the midday sun burned with the heat of summer,
The final year of school, students lost in their thoughts,
We were exhausted, waiting for the approaching exams.
May, a month that quietly witnesses farewells,
The phoenix flowers exchanged hurriedly between hands,
Words in the yearbooks, full of unspoken emotions,
We wistfully said goodbye to our youthful dreams.
In May, I wonder, where does the nostalgia go?
The girl in the white dress, with her eyes of deepest blue,
My heart once cherished you, remembering you always,
But I kept my love hidden, as if it were just a fleeting poem.
May returns, bringing vague memories,
My spirit drifts far away to another time,
The person I once knew is now lost to the years,
And I wonder if they too remember the old days.
This May, the rain comes hurriedly,
Only to fade away suddenly in the midday heat,
The purple flowers of the pride of the school shake in the breeze,
And memories fall, forgotten with each passing season.
This May, there are also farewells...!

18. Joyful May
Poem: Hoàng Minh Tuấn
The sun of May has fully bloomed,
Reminding me of that sweet summer we shared,
The deep purple flowers, who gave them to me,
Whose shy gaze met mine so tenderly?
Our hearts beat wildly, out of sync,
Hands barely touched before they slipped apart...
“When graduation comes, we’ll part ways,
Will you still remember me? Will love remain someday?”
“Look at the purple flowers in my hand,
They are the love we shared, solemn and grand...!”
From that moment, till summer’s end,
We walked the same road, together again.
Our voices clear, laughter ringing loud,
Wishing this summer would last much longer somehow.
But the cicadas’ songs echoed, full of sorrow,
For the day we must say goodbye tomorrow.
The phoenix flowers seemed to understand,
So they burned bright, filled with longing’s demand...
Years have passed, but my love still stays,
And this May, it shines brighter than yesterday!

19. A Melancholic May
Poem: Hoàng Minh Tuấn
This May, we can't meet,
I look toward that direction, my heart heavy with sorrow,
The phoenix flowers are shedding tears of red,
Summer ignites the memories of days long past.
The purple flowers remain, dear one,
Yet why must we be so far apart?
Once, we were filled with longing and devotion,
What happened to make our love fade away?
Summer arrives with the cicadas' mournful song,
Grieving the fate of a love that went wrong,
The sunset still glows with a familiar hue,
But where has my love for you gone, and where are you?
The longing stays, yet you have moved on,
Who will I now share my heart with, now that you're gone?
I pour my sorrow into these words,
Each line and verse still echoes love unheard.
The phoenix flowers still bloom with grace,
The purple flowers remain, but we've lost our place.
The cicadas still sing their painful tune,
And I send my sadness to you, beneath the moon...

20. A Touch of May
Poem by Hoàng Chẩm
In the distant sky, I fade away,
As love lingers, holding dreams in sway.
The scent of old days, faint and unclear,
I thought we'd lost it, yet we're still here.
The seasons shift, painting pain anew,
From the moment we parted, time withdrew.
My fingers count the stars, fewer they seem,
As I wait in the dark, remembering you in my dreams.
The May winds dry the tender lips,
As I wait for summer rains to sip.
I hide away the memories of forever,
Love, like a dream, fades though we're apart never.
The winds of May caress my hair,
As feelings flow with love so rare.
The village river still drifts with time,
The boat has left, our lives now a rhyme.
