1. Poem: The End of the Year - Vũ Thắm
THE END OF THE YEAR
Poem: Vũ Thắm
It's already the end of the year, do you know?
There’s still the chill of winter’s cold
Outside, spring flowers bloom in scattered bursts
But only poetry warms the heart.
Light sorrow is scattered on the path
I reach out to pluck a forget-me-not
Only a week left until the new year begins
I wonder what thoughts fill your heart?
Gray clouds fill the sky as the day fades away
The night reveals no Milky Way
The Ô Thước bridge soars away with the wind
Leaving a lingering ache in the soul.
As the month ends, where are you at the year's close?
Bringing poetry and music to a sorrowful tune
The flowers have withered, the heart is cold
Do we still remember each other across the distance?

2. Poem: Imprinted in the Soul of a Village - Nguyễn Đình Cường
IMPRINTED IN THE SOUL OF A VILLAGE
Nguyễn Đình Cường
At the year’s end, I remain far from my homeland
Forced by life to wander and seek sustenance
The yearning for my village is a constant ache
It is where I was born, and I long to return!
I remember my mother, walking along the dike
The heavy load of vegetables bent her back
She knew the evening meal would be simple
With rice and yams, mostly what we had.
Father always worried, his face deep in thought
Salt prices rose, but he still bought fish sauce
He made sure I had enough clothes and gifts
At Tet, there were still fireworks and flowers...
This spring, my eyes well up with tears
Mother and father have missed many Tet celebrations
The struggles remain, but poverty is no more
Rest easy, my dear, in that place, mother and father!
Thanks to heaven and the harmony of the earth
Now, my children live comfortably
The small boat knows how to sail out to sea
From the depths of my heart, I carry the soul of my village!

3. Poem: Back in the Embrace of Longing - Hoàng Như Phượng
BACK IN THE EMBRACE OF LONGING
Poem: Hoàng Như Phượng
You returned on a late-year day
Hanoi's flowers have lulled the streets
The willow branches swaying in the afternoon light
The West Lake's surface gently ripples.
The peach blossoms in soft pink greet the spring
Love blooms and adds more fragrance to the air
The mai flowers sparkle in the northern breeze
Despite the harshness of time, spring remains.
It was here, at this place, that I saw you off
I stood silently... unsure of what to say
Only my eyes, filled with tears, made it clear
Your love and my longing filled my heart.
The past memories seem to linger here
Rushing back to me, filling the emptiness
The clear sky, with the winds fiercely blowing
It felt as though I saw you, your cheeks flushed pink.
The first promise I made, I’ll forever wait for you
Each step I took on Thanh Niên Road, with lingering thoughts
We were together, my love, destined to be
Happiness mixed with tears, both full and fleeting...

4. Poem: The Last Day of the Year - Cảnh Hưng
THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR
Poem by Cảnh Hưng
On the last afternoon of the year, I hear the grass
Smile as it leans by the lonely shore
The green stone at the alley’s entrance
Wears a coat of moss even more...
The calendar page falls onto the ground
The cold touches the land of old
Winter still lingers across the old streets
Calling sunlight to return within the rain
Dew wraps around the leaves
As spring approaches, preparing to enter
The old Mai tree stirs awake
Weaving golden-colored flowers...
People from the land of sun and wind
Come back to the city, where spring is filled with cold
Their clothes sweep across the wide sky
With the scent of Magnolia flowers in the air...

5. Poem: Wings of the Last Day of the Year - Phan Huy Hùng
WINGS OF THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR
Phan Huy Hùng
As the morning light clears the faces around
The dawn spreads its wings and smiles at me
I sip my coffee, reflecting on life
At 74, I feel the spring's glow embrace me
Remembering the days of rationing and struggle
Where bitter coffee met darkened hours
My body slithered like an eel through the muddy waters
Childhood buried deep in the craters of war...
Who would have guessed this moment would come?
Bright coffee, sunshine wrapping me in its arms
A smile gently opens the dawn
With ease, I spread my wings, and my poetic soul soars!

6. Poem: Return to Mother!!! - Nguyễn Thị Khánh Hà
RETURN TO MOTHER!!!
Poem: Nguyễn Thị Khánh Hà
I'm visiting mother this New Year
The cool breeze of late season blows gently
The dry branches, the leaves swaying
Lonely, just like mother, spending days alone
My heart beats restlessly, as if I know for sure
Like my soul telling me that mother is longing
Mother hides her love deep inside
She understands my burdens, yet can't come back to me
With the New Year arriving, work piles up
But I still hope to return to you, mother
To see your eyes smile once more
All pain fades away, replaced with happiness
In your arms, I tear up
My heart aches with love for you, mother!!!

7. Poem: The Last Night of the Year - Phạm Hồng Giang
THE LAST NIGHT OF THE YEAR
Phạm Hồng Giang
Each page of the calendar falls quietly, one by one
A lone dry leaf drifts through the stream of life
The cold night sharpens the fading sorrow
The flow of time drifts with deep contemplation
The year ends, yet the love poem remains unfinished
Waiting for someone to ease the fragile longing
Waves curve along the shore, uncertain
Dew drops sparkle on the wildflowers
The dim light of night fills the air with loneliness
The train station stands in sorrow, marking the moment of parting
The one who stays lingers, seeing the one who leaves off
A whispered message carried by the wind
A long shadow stretches across the foggy path
Words of love left unspoken, concealed in silence
Tears well up at the corner of the eyes, bittersweet
Hands clasped tightly, full of longing
The train station, lonely on this last night of the year, holds fate and promises
The one has gone...
Leaving behind memories...
For whom?

8. Poem: The Golden Apricot Blossom at Year's End - Hồ Viết Bình
THE GOLDEN APRICOT BLOSSOM AT YEAR'S END
Hồ Viết Bình
Silent by the golden apricot tree's roots
Admiring each delicate and fresh bloom
One flower smiles brightly in full bloom
While another carries both joy and sorrow within
Life is full of sun, wind, and pouring rain
Yet at the year's end, countless flowers still bloom.
Hồ Viết Bình

9. Poem: The Last Day of the Year - Phạm Quang Thu
THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR
Phạm Quang Thu
The river stretches, shrouded in mist
At the riverbank, strangers wait, hoping for the boat to pass
The flute plays to the rhythm of the folk song
The thatched roof smokes rising into the hazy sky
On this last day of the year, poetry is born
The fields now dressed in lush green, ushering in spring
The yellow and white mustard fields are near
After the flower harvest, the yard awaits the bean sprouts
The brown soil plowed, young rice sprouts emerging
Hands move gracefully as if dancing like an immortal
A year of fortune, and troubles have flown away with the north wind along the riverbank
The flower beds blossom in pink hues
The peach buds bloom, greeting the spring every day
The village's stories are ever so captivating
The wine cup, the moonlit pitcher, fill the village square
The temple bell rings, remembering the souls of the past
Grandparents forever loved, grandchildren are promised to return
On this last day of the year, the love for the homeland is strong
The scent of bánh chưng calls the wind back to visit
Life moves forward, with no end in sight
The last day of the year, filled with joy and festivity!

10. Poem: Spring Knocks on the Door - Hồng Soi
SPRING KNOCKS ON THE DOOR
By: Hồng Soi
Spring knocks on the door, with apricot and peach flowers blooming
The season changes, intoxicating with its embrace
The South is gently touched by the drifting rain
What about the North, how does it feel right now?
I will bring the sunshine back to you
After all these days, I've kept the Southern skies for you
So that you can feel the warmth of spring
While I stand on the frontlines, guarding the skies
We promised to reunite when spring arrives
Sharing dreams, telling each other our hopes
Being apart, the longing deepens
The waves of the heart stir and merge into the vast ocean!
The year is ending, and people are filled with excitement
Welcoming the new spring, wishing for good fortune
The bond of sailors, full of love and care
Celebrating the spring, warm and together with loved ones!
In the middle of the sea, the fleet rides the waves
We pledge to keep the seas peaceful
The sailors promise to the land
To overcome storms and remain steadfast until spring returns!

11. Poem: The Last Market of the Year - Nguyễn Hường
THE LAST MARKET OF THE YEAR
Poem: Nguyễn Hường
The winter market is bustling, full of life
Rice, vegetables, meat, fish—everything laid out for sale
The chatter and laughter fill the air
People rush, pushing and shoving to grab their share
Ducks, chickens, goats, pigs, geese, all making noise
The sounds are lively, bringing smiles to every face
Hundreds of flowers bloom, fresh and vibrant
Games and entertainment fill the scene with cheers
The children watch in awe
Innocent and curious, their eyes wide with wonder
Round, juicy oranges, apples, grapes, and tangerines
Pomelos, rambutans, and bananas, all sweet and ripe
Life is warm and rich, full of happiness
Far away, the Tết market calls you home
Home is where the memory of an old mother lives
The banyan tree by the riverbank always tugs at the heart

12. Poem: End of the Year Emotions - NGA LÊ
END OF THE YEAR EMOTIONS
Poem: NGA LÊ
The rain falls gently.
The starfruit tree blooms.
The peach and apricot flowers are shyly blooming.
They bring Spring into the house.
The sun rises at the end of the lane.
The pomelo tree begins to flower.
The small rose bushes tilt as they bloom.
They look wistfully towards the sky.
The world is a miracle.
Like the divine chopsticks,
They tap the world,
Awakening the Spring season.
The fields are fragrant.
The colors shine brightly.
The trees are laden with fruit.
The rice fields stretch endlessly green.
The chirping of the cicadas fills the air.
The bees are busy collecting nectar.
The butterflies flutter about joyfully.
Who wrapped the Bánh Chưng?
The sweet fragrance fills the air.
The smell of sticky rice leaves
Touches the heart deeply.
Everyone is in a rush.
The last days of the year are here.
Why so busy?
But with joy in their hearts.
The year-end feast.
Family gathers together.
Happiness fills the air.
Together we welcome TẾT.

13. Poem: A Greeting - Trần Duy Hạnh
A GREETING
Trần Duy Hạnh
The year is ending, the days are almost over,
Time quietly slips away, little by little.
The vast sky and earth, like floating clouds,
Relatives from near and far gather around.
Wishing to express a few words,
To cherish and remember the colors of distant lands.
The words of love for Mother and respect for Father,
The elderly flourishing like ever-growing trees.
The bond of love, enduring and strong,
Family ties, an unspoken truth.
Who can measure the depth of the vast ocean?
With steady hands, we navigate the river of peace.
On New Year's Eve, families unite, singing songs,
Wishing for prosperity and health, a joyful Spring awaits.

14. Poem: Mother's Love - Moon Anh
MOTHER'S LOVE
Poem: Moon Anh
Sitting and thinking about home, a sadness fills my heart,
As the rain pours down, the chill spreads, sadness takes its part.
I hear each raindrop falling, my heart grows faint,
Missing Mother, loving Father, yearning for the roots of the past.
The year is almost over, yet the cold still lingers,
Is Mother warm by the stove, or still shivering in the cold?
Or does she feel the emptiness because her child is away,
Waiting long and tired, heart full of longing?
How much I love you, Mother, I understand now!
From my days in the cradle, you worked day and night,
Raising me with care, your love everlasting,
The depth of your love is a beautiful, eternal story.
The year is ending, Spring is arriving,
Everyone’s home is tidied and ready to celebrate,
The family gathers, excited for the New Year,
Yet only Mother remains, tears filling her eyes.
Forgive me, dear Mother!
You are the greatest person in my life!
Your love is as vast as the sea, I will always remember it,
Your kindness carved deeply into my heart, forever unchanged!

15. Poem: Yearning for Spring - Đỗ Hương
YEARNING FOR SPRING
Đỗ Hương
Spring calls out with yearning words,
The sky is adorned with a soft blue hue,
Light drops of rain still drift and twist,
Even the ice begins to sprout anew.
This morning, I woke to embrace the spring,
Life awakened with intense vigor,
The peach branches, smooth and jade-like,
The sky blending with your green coat!
In that place, the sky remains ever blue,
Through countless seasons of winds and heat,
The banyan leaves fall red in winter,
But fresh green buds sprout at night.
The New Year’s Eve was full of joy and noise,
Mixed with nostalgia and joy for the past years,
The spring breeze warm as an old hand’s touch,
Bringing back memories from days long gone...
Spring always arrives with excitement,
Calling with a thousand yearning words,
For a thousand years, Spring will endure,
Faithful to the earth and the heavens!

16. Poem: The Last Day of the Year - Nguyễn Lan Hương
The Last Day of the Year
Poem by Nguyễn Lan Hương
The calendar on the wall thins as time passes,
The entire year slips away quickly, bringing the final day.
January, like an eager traveler,
Hastily leaves the shores of winter behind.
As the year ends, is there still time for us?
Let’s pause and leave behind the worries of the past season.
Perhaps the forgotten memories were never truly stored,
And thus, they return, whole, from days long past.
At year’s end, the rush of buying and selling increases,
The streets fill with calculations of what was gained and lost.
The old hasn’t fully passed, and the new still isn’t real,
As shadows bear the weight of life’s ongoing struggles.
At year’s end, even the first light of dawn seems hurried,
The day feels too short, urging the sun to rise earlier.
It’s both strange and familiar, like spring just starting to bloom.
Will we have time to meet before the year concludes?

17. Poem: End of the Year - Phan Thu Hà
End of the Year
Phan Thu Hà
Look, I see the trees shedding their leaves.
Even though spring is coming, it still surprises me.
Butterflies flutter around the blooming flowers,
Golden spring sunshine glistens as it falls.
There’s a young soldier next door,
Returning from a distant island.
Today, a wedding is taking place over there,
The bride’s hair adorned with flowers, a vow to keep.
Also, a couple who had struggled with infertility,
Yesterday, they welcomed twin babies.
Joy after long years of longing,
Smiles that shine like the morning sun.
A student from the boarding house,
Tomorrow, she’ll likely head home.
Her small frame carrying a backpack and bag,
Bringing spring with the gifts she carries.
The elderly teacher in the neighborhood, retired,
Silently preparing a branch of peach blossoms.
Carefully nurturing every budding flower,
Waiting for the moment when the New Year begins.
Alone, I walk gently through the small street,
Hearing spring call with familiar footsteps.
The sound of a string being strummed resonates in the air,
And somewhere, a window lights up, welcoming the night.
At the end of the year, I hope for a new spring,
Golden sunshine melting the cold, winds easing.
I only wish for one simple thing:
A life that continues to be filled with love and kindness.

18. Poem: The Last Day of the Year - Nguyễn Văn Thành
THE LAST DAY OF THE YEAR
Poem: Nguyễn Văn Thành
On this day, I look back at the entire year,
Though full of challenges, the results are still rewarding.
Prices held steady, the economy showed steady growth,
Safety remained intact, while vehicles traversed in all directions.
The warmth of Vietnamese spirit never fades,
Uniting the North and South, we stand together.
Helping each other through thick and thin,
The sincerity of our people reaches every corner.
Many heroes have shone brightly this year,
Soldiers who went everywhere, at all times,
In every field, their work became songs of praise,
The world admires Vietnam's strength.
On this last day of the year, joy fills every home,
Living standards rise, elders feel warmth, children laugh,
Workers’ health is improved,
Preparing for a new year that will be even better.
On this very day, the cold wind blows strongly,
In the garden, drizzle falls as expected,
Picking fresh vegetables to complete the meal,
As we transition into the new year, sweet hopes blossom.

19. Poem: Spring Has Come
SPRING HAS COME
Poem: Lê An
The last afternoon of the year, spring is so beautiful, oh spring,
The sunlight gently spreads across the pale peach blossoms,
The narrow road is serenaded by a soft breeze,
Welcoming people with the melody of the approaching Tết...
In this private space, we embrace our passions,
Hand in hand, we journey through the cold lands,
We have arrived at the orchard, heavily laden with fruit,
He smiles softly... the fragrance of a delicious fruit fills the air...
We walk along the familiar, worn path,
Spring’s gentle touch blends with the white mist,
True happiness... sometimes is found in silence...
The harmonious melody enriches the arrival of a new season.

20. Poem: The Last Market of the Year - Hải Âu
THE LAST MARKET OF THE YEAR
Poem: Hải Âu
Spring has touched the mountain town,
The fog is thick on every path,
The buzz of people heading to the market,
As dawn breaks, the sound of hooves approaches.
The last market of the year is like this!
People from distant valleys and streams,
Gather in a loud, festive assembly,
Meeting hastily, exchanging promises.
The market corner smells of “Thắng cố”,
Old friends meet after long years,
Celebrating with overflowing cups of wine,
Vowing to return in the coming year.
The last market of the year is like this!
Quietly, the horse’s footsteps fade away,
The crowds stretch through the mountains,
Leaving behind! The empty, silent shop.
