20. Vietnam National University, Hanoi
Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) traces its origins to the Indochina University, which was established in 1906. In 1945, it evolved into the University of Vietnam and later rebranded as Hanoi University in 1956. In 1993, VNU was formed as part of the consolidation of three major universities in Hanoi, with the goal of establishing a high-quality, multi-disciplinary research and training center, achieving regional standards, and eventually becoming internationally competitive.
Shared infrastructure systems:
- Prioritization of investment to ensure that all lecture halls, laboratories, and facilities supporting training and scientific research meet international standards, with strong connectivity for the benefit of all disciplines within VNU.
- The units responsible for managing shared infrastructure must ensure that faculty, staff, and students from other departments can access these facilities for educational and research purposes as per the set regulations.
- Each department periodically reports to the VNU Director on the state of facilities, measuring their ability to meet international training standards. Based on these reports, VNU's planning office works with departments to upgrade, expand, and ensure the effective use of the facilities for strategic goals, maintaining strong internal coordination within the university.
Development of standardized lecture halls:
- Each department that develops classrooms, including systems for electricity, lighting, furniture, and advanced teaching technologies (computers, projectors, smart boards, internet access, and other multimedia tools), ensures these facilities meet the standards of VNU's partner universities.
- Departments also propose study rooms with internet access for students and offices for teaching assistants to help students with questions and support them in their learning processes.
Currently, VNU has various campuses spread across Hanoi, in addition to its main campus located at Xuan Thuy, Cau Giay. The Hoa Lac campus is also continuously being developed, featuring modern and spacious facilities.
