1. Poem: July Poem - Nguyen Duc Phuc
JULY POEM!
Author: Nguyen Duc Phuc.
Sending love to the motherland of Nghi Xuan
Threads of longing, threads of remembrance in my poem
What can I write in the first line
To express my gratitude to my grandparents?
The ones who gave me life
Mother and grandmother lived here
Father fell ill and was no longer around
Only mother stayed, raising us until old age.
Many tried to marry her
But mother refused, never taking a second husband.
She devoted herself to raising us
And raised us well, in a silent, empty home.
Years went by, waiting
Raising children, relying on them.
My sister, just of age
Got married and followed her husband.
I just graduated
Focused on work and hoped for life.
Mother stayed alone
In the straw hut, waiting for us.
In my life, I learned to write poetry
Was it a shadow of my mother that followed me?
Though life was poor
There was no complaint, no whining from her.
I went through war
And returned to the straw house, to my old mother.
Now, mother has passed on
Gone to join my ancestors and grandparents.
I cannot forget this poem
A message of thanks to my ancestors, my grandparents
Both maternal and paternal families
The incense, the smoke, I send my gratitude together.
One last word I write
Sending my thoughts to everyone
Also to my mother's hometown
Mother, please remember to pass my message.
The poem of July whispers
Vu Lan gratitude, the souls are here.

2. Poem: Mother's Memorial Day - Pham Quang Thu
MOTHER'S MEMORIAL DAY
Author: Pham Quang Thu
Weep in sorrow, the incense spreads far
The candles and incense fill the spiritual home
I gaze at the portrait, certain
Mother is still there, in the framed photo.
The old betel box Mother used
The dried betel, cold and unmoving
The betel leaves, the areca nuts
As if still waiting for the person they loved!
Mother is still here... the rocking cradle
The hammock stronger than life's hardships
The woven basket tucked in the corner
By the wooden clogs, patiently waiting for someone.
Silently, a piece of her raincoat
At the porch, as if someone is waiting...
I feel Mother’s spirit comforted
The incense I lit flares up brightly.
The incense burns to ash
The altar has transformed, the ashes now in a swirl.
With a trembling heart, I bow to her soul
The fragrance of the incense on Mother's Memorial Day is more fragrant than usual.
The spiritual realm is here
Heavy with gratitude for the one who gave birth to us through sorrow.
I watch the delicate smoke rise
The world of the living and the dead draws near, with my respectful offering.
The father’s work and the mother’s love a thousand times
Etched into my bones, the meaning of life engraved in the heart.
In daze, tears fall from my eyes...

3. Poem: By Mother's Side - Phan Thu Ha
BY MOTHER'S SIDE
Author: Phan Thu Ha
Back then, I was just a little girl
Sitting beside Mother as she corrected papers
Eating papaya on my own
My hair still too short to touch my shoulders.
Back then, Mother was a teacher
Besides me, she had many children to care for
She worked tirelessly, rowing the boat
Her youth slowly fading with the years.
I grew up alongside Mother
The sound of the pestle and the lullabies
Remembering Father, Mother softly sent
The gentle breeze of autumn's whispers.
Looking back at childhood through photos
The memories make me miss the old days
The flood of recollections rushes back
Mother’s life, filled with sun and rain.
Mother, even though life keeps us apart
Your love is always with me, beside me
Your love will remain for future generations
Through countless years, it remains strong and true.

4. Poem: Mother Is ... - Hồ Viết Bình
MOTHER IS ...!
Author: Hồ Viết Bình
Mother is the warm southern breeze
Gently soothing me into a deep sleep
Mother is the warm blanket in winter
Cradling my little feet, pink as if painted with red.
Mother is the sweet milk
That made my cheeks round and rosy
Mother is my first teacher
Teaching me manners, respect, and how to say 'yes' and 'no.'
Mother is the shelter from the rain
Mother is the hammock on hot summer afternoons
Mother is the grapefruit tree, the pomelo tree
She is the sweet starfruit tree that cooled my childhood heart.
Mother is the lullaby
That follows me through every dream of life
Mother, there is so much more, my dear
How can I describe it all in a poem?
Poem by: Hồ Viết Bình

5. Poem: Mother, Oh! - Nguyễn Anh Tuấn
MOTHER, OH!
Author: Nguyễn Anh Tuấn
I long to find those distant memories...
From my childhood days
The old stories I heard as I lay in your arms
Drifting to sleep as you hummed softly...
I remember sneaking away from you to play
Returning with my clothes all muddy
Though you scolded me with the stick
Your heart wept, knowing it was for my own good.
With each step I grew, you taught me with care
To stay pure, to value what’s truly important
No longer a child in your arms
Learning not just for myself, but for others too.
The rain and sun, the long hours
You stood watching me sleep soundly
I grew up with every word of your love
Now that you’re gone, have I truly grown up?

6. Poem: Grateful to Parents - Đỗ Thị Phương Lan
GRATEFUL TO PARENTS
Author: Đỗ Thị Phương Lan
"A father's duty is as great as Mount Tai
A mother's love flows like a river from its source
To honor both with a loyal heart
Is the true duty of a child."
This verse, mother, has been engraved in my heart
Never to be forgotten, I vow
Years passed with your care and father's wisdom
Both of you worked tirelessly, forgetting yourselves for us.
Now that I’ve grown, I understand deeply
The love and sacrifices of my dear parents
Life has been a journey of hardships
But it’s made me realize the profound truth of your love.
We strive to honor your teachings
We know it’s our duty as your children
To live a life full of righteousness
So that you can smile in your hearts, proud of us.
We will remember forever
Respecting father, honoring mother, never to forget!

7. Poem: Mother is the Moon - Chu Long
MOTHER IS THE MOON
Author: Chu Long
The night stretches on with endless hours
Her worn clothes glisten in the morning dew
Through storms and sunshine, time weaves together
But her once youthful figure has faded with years.
Her love for us is vast and endless
Like the golden moonlight on an autumn night
The lullaby she sings brings comfort
Her breath, sweet and fragrant, fills the air.
As I grew, her eyes smiled with pride
The flowers on her lips bloomed like peaches in spring
Her soul pure as moonlight
Her fragrance as sweet as ripe fruit in bloom.
Looking at the moon, I remember my childhood
Curling into her arms, dreaming of a world of peace
Now that she’s gone, her love remains
In my heart, she will always be my Moon.
Chu Long

8. Poem: Vu Lan’s Gratitude - Bùi Thế Uyên
VU LAN’S GRATITUDE
Author: Bùi Thế Uyên
Facebook: Tony Bui
Every Vu Lan season arrives
My words choke up, too much to say
I remember my parents, oh!
Tears fill my eyes in silence.
The love and sacrifice are immeasurable
My parents, struggling all their lives
Enduring hardships as they grow old
Raising us until we are grown.
Each child goes their own way
Unable to fully repay the love of parents
We return, successful but feel empty
The house echoes with an aching void.
The incense smoke rises quietly
A white rose, humbly offered
Pinned to the shirt of the laborer
Thousands of apologies, please forgive me.
I know I have wronged you
Not fully understanding your sacrifice
My parents are in the heavens above
I sincerely thank you with all my heart.

9. Poem: Mother and Me - Lâm Bình
MOTHER AND ME
Poet: NS Lâm Bình
This precious photo became history
Of those still living today
Thanh Hóa, where the train arrived
Bringing the medical soldiers to the frontlines.
Mother and I also grew from this place...
Soaked in the warmth of human kindness, loyal and true
The hospital gate is where the sacred oath was sworn
By millions of hearts, once reunited in the South.
Even as time fades from memory
The old steps still burn with warmth
The heroic spirit of the South’s soil
All transformed into white-robed angels.
A generation of excellence gifted back to the world
60 years of nurturing, shaping a strong path for the child
Parents’ love is etched into the child’s steps
Past time cannot flow backward.
The posture today, a heroic generation
The grandeur that gathers in Thanh’s land
Preserving the memories of childhood forever.

11. Poem: Remembering Mother - Nguyễn Ngọc
REMEMBERING MOTHER
Poet: Nguyễn Ngọc
Mother...
You loved the youngest son the most.
The youngest left for the army and stayed away for a long time.
Hearing that I would soon return home,
You hunched your back and waited for me, leaning on your cane, by the door.
Old age made you walk slowly,
Tripping over the doorstep, falling, my dear!
My heart aches, oh Mother,
Carrying the heavy burdens of a lifetime of military service.
Father passed away early, and you were left alone.
Year-round, I saw your frail figure.
I traveled far and wide across mountains and valleys,
Thanks to wise doctors, I’m still here with you.
You applied medicine and nursed me every day.
I've watched you change, your strength diminished with time.
Thank you to all the relatives,
Thank you to friends and loved ones, far and near.
Please accept this bow of gratitude.
I vow to repay this kindness on the day of our reunion.
Mother...
On Vu Lan, I honor my parents.
Although I'm far away, my heart is with you.
My tears keep falling
As I miss you and think of Father, aching deep in my heart, Mother!

12. Poem: Honoring Parents During Vu Lan Season - Gia Long
HONORING PARENTS DURING VU LAN SEASON
Author: Gia Long
"A Father's love is as enduring as Mount Tai,
A Mother's love flows like the endless stream.
With a heart devoted to honoring Father and Mother,
Only then can we fulfill our duty as children."
During the Vu Lan season of honoring parents,
We offer countless red flowers as tribute to our parents.
Father, who created me,
Mother, who carried and gave birth to us.
Though we live our lives,
We can never repay the love and care of Father and Mother.
The best way to honor them,
Is to cultivate our virtues and make our parents proud.

13. Poem: The Rose of July - Nguyễn Khánh Trân
THE ROSE OF JULY
Author: Nguyễn Khánh Trân
Only when raising children do we truly understand the love of parents.
Don’t say ‘if only,’ for it’s too late now.
Time’s shadow cannot flow backwards,
And the rhythm of life continues without pause.
The nurturing rose is the love of a mother,
Its beauty is the gratitude as vast as the ocean and sky.
In the seventh month of Vu Lan, the season of honoring parents,
Beware, lest it be too late – for the golden leaves fall.

14. Poem: Prayers for My Father - Hồn Du Tử
PRAYERS FOR MY FATHER
Author: Hồn Du Tử
In his advanced age, with hair touched by the frost,
My father grows weaker, often sick and in pain.
My young heart aches, as I sincerely pray,
For the innocent child's sorrow, offering incense to the heavens.
May the compassionate Bodhisattva grant protection,
And the enlightened Buddha, with divine mercy, show kindness.
May my father stay healthy and live in peace,
So that I, as a child, may never suffer heartache from the inevitable separation.

15. Poem: Luc Bat about Father - Thich Nhuan Hanh
LUCKY POEM ABOUT FATHER
Author: Thich Nhuan Hanh
The stork carries the sunshine across the river
Also carrying the salty tears of father
Father is a galaxy
I am a drop of water born from the source
In a poor village, rain and sunshine pour down
Father’s poetry is woven from many ups and downs
Father endures to compose poems for his child
Sadness and happiness bloom into flowers.
The rice fields are lush and green
The figure of the father fades into the countryside
The kite flies across the sky
Carrying the verse of the father's love, growing weak.

16. Poem: Unfulfilled Filial Piety - Bitter Coffee
UNFULFILLED FILIAL PIETY
Author: Bitter Coffee
The nurturing love engraved throughout a lifetime
The bond of parenthood etched in the heart
Through rain or shine, parents endure
Raising their children quietly, protecting them
My homeland, with its bamboo groves
Stands by my side in times of hardship
In me, a love everlasting
The gratitude to parents, the village, the humble land
When autumn arrives with cold winds and rains
Does father sleep soundly at night?
Is mother well-fed and safe?
Are they warm through the biting cold?
As a child, I silently wish
For the peace of my aging parents
In the seventh month, during Vu Lan
My filial piety remains unfulfilled, and I feel sorrowful.

18. Bài thơ: Vu Lan Viếng Mẹ - Anh Thư Đỗ
VU LAN VIẾNG MẸ
Tác giả: Anh Thư Đỗ
Lên chùa viếng mẹ chiều nay
Con đi trong gió mưa bay nhạt nhòa
Câu kinh lời kệ ngân nga
Khói trầm hương ngát quyện hòa tiếng chuông
Nhìn di ảnh Mẹ thật buồn
Chín năm cách biệt đôi đường Trần - Âm
Mẹ hiền ánh mắt xa xăm
Chừng như còn muốn nhủ thầm điều chi..?
Trọn đời con mãi khắc ghi
Phút giây đau đớn biệt ly mẫu từ...
Nỗi niềm trĩu nặng tâm tư
Vầng dương lịm tắt...cõi hư.. Mẹ về,...
Lòng con buốt giá, tái tê
Chiều nay mưa gió não nề...Mẹ ơi..!

19. Poem: Vu Lan - Hương Lan
VU LAN
Author: Hương Lan
July is here, and Vu Lan has returned
The orphaned child feels the sorrow
No longer can the mother's image be seen
Only the incense burns silently
Only the incense burns silently
The sky understands the cycle of reincarnation
When will the old form be restored?
July is here, and Vu Lan has returned again...

20. Poem: Vu Lan Still Mother - Philphil Huynhquocphu
VU LAN STILL MOTHER
Author: Philphil Huynhquocphu
The white lotus remembers the elderly mother
Vu Lan, the child of a mother, just last year...
Though we know this world is transient
It’s still sorrowful to say goodbye, to part ways
Let me sing the song of a mother's boundless love
Let me remember the gratitude of the vast red waters
Vu Lan, a filial tribute, filled with sadness
Remembering mother, the incense smoke stirs my heart.

21. Poem: The Most Beautiful Mother - Đức Ngọc
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL MOTHER
Author: Đức Ngọc
In my mother, beauty is beyond compare
Capable, gentle, and noble all her life
Radiating like the stars
Shining forever, sweet as eternity
Her warm voice, a lullaby
Soft as willow branches... with the breeze
By her side, joy and laughter
With mother, life feels like royalty
How can words express it all
Days spent with mother... truly a blessing for me
Her life devoted to love
Her grace, wisdom, and character will always shine brightly.

22. Poem: Vu Lan Day, Remembering Parents - Hoàng Minh Tuấn
VU LAN DAY, REMEMBERING PARENTS!
Poem: Hoàng Minh Tuấn
It’s been ten years since mother passed,
Ten years of longing and memories of her,
There were moments when I thought I couldn’t go on,
Yearning for you, dear mother!
I remember when I first stepped into life,
You were the one guiding me every step,
Though life brought losses and gains,
You stood beside me, showing me the way!
Sometimes, even in times of peace,
You reminded us of the past,
To recall the days of scarcity,
And warn us against prideful contentment ...!!!
When mother passed, father tried to hide his sorrow,
His hair turned white, he laughed less than before,
He only told us, whether in hardship or success,
We must stay united and move forward together!
No matter where we go, or where we live,
We must always remember filial piety above all,
Embrace harmony, forgiveness, and unity,
And not fear any difficulties or struggles!
.............
Father left mother for seven years,
Then he left us, to join her once more,
At his farewell, I promised through tears,
To fulfill all the wishes of mother and father...
The Vu Lan ceremony, with incense smoke rising,
I bow deeply, praying for my parents,
May they rest peacefully in the heavenly realms,
We, their children, have grown and matured!
We have walked our own paths,
Just as our parents had hoped for us,
Now, mother and father, I long for a moment,
Just to hold you both in my arms once more!

24. Poem: Listen to Father's Teachings - Nguyễn Thị Nguyệt Anh
LISTEN TO FATHER'S TEACHINGS
Poet: Nguyễn Thị Nguyệt Anh
Father’s words remain etched in my heart
In my innocent youth, I stepped into life
Yearning to wander far and wide
But I must understand the principles of life...
Learn to sharpen the mind, strengthen your will
Don’t be lazy, depending on others for support
In times of adversity, use your intellect
Avoid ungrateful people, those lacking insight.
In life, let others fight, don’t mind them
Never lower yourself to the level of the mean-spirited
Help when you can, but never turn your back
Don’t let love and family ties be severed.
When making friends, never calculate benefits
Don’t be arrogant, or you’ll face contempt
Don’t boast of generosity, especially not about yourself
Never belittle others, for they too have worth.
Can we truly be perfect?
Live virtuously, without shame or regret
So, what have I learned so far?
Now grown, I can fly like a little crane!
Out in the world, maintaining one’s integrity is tough
Many traps are clear around us
Only by striving on our own, in a foreign land
Can we fully appreciate Father’s loving guidance.
When Vu Lan comes, the rain season in July
I feel a rush of nostalgia in my heart
I place a flower at the grave, offering endless gratitude
Thank you, Father, for your loving care.
