1. Speech for International Children's Day June 1st (Speech 1)
Dear esteemed leaders,
Dear distinguished guests,
Dear parents and beloved children!
First of all, on behalf of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union, I would like to extend my warmest wishes of health and happiness to all the leaders, guests, parents, and children present today.
Dear esteemed colleagues,
On the early morning of June 1st, 1942, the German Nazis surrounded the village of Lidice in Czechoslovakia. Here, they brutally massacred 66 people and sent 104 children to concentration camps, where 88 of them died in gas chambers, and many others were forced to serve as labor for the Nazis. Two years later, on June 10th, 1944, the Nazis again attacked the town of Oradour-sur-Glane in France, herding 400 people, including many women and over 100 children, into a church and setting it on fire in a horrific act of violence.
In outrage at the brutal crimes of the Nazis, the progressive people around the world strongly condemned and fought to destroy fascism. After the defeat of the Nazis, Czechoslovakia built the village of Lidice and erected a memorial to honor the victims. In December 1949, at the Afro-Asian Women's Conference in Beijing, the Women's International Democratic Federation proposed and received global approval to declare June 1st as International Children's Day, a day to remember the massacres of Lidice and Oradour-sur-Glane. Since then, women's and youth organizations in various countries have used June 1st to unite and campaign against forces causing war, working to protect the happiness of mothers and children worldwide.
Dear esteemed colleagues!
In recent years, protecting, caring for, and educating children has been a major focus for the Party, government, and social organizations. Many favorable conditions have been created for children’s education, recreation, and play. As a result, today’s children are better cared for and have more opportunities for growth. However, there are still challenges such as child abuse, exploitation, and neglect. It is important to continue raising awareness about children's rights and provide them with a joyful and meaningful summer vacation. In 2014, our Youth Union, in collaboration with the Department of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs, organized a Children's Day program to bring joy to children.
Dear esteemed colleagues!
“Children are like buds on a branch
Knowing how to eat, sleep, and study is being well-behaved
If misfortune strikes our land
Children suffer terribly...”
In the boundless love that President Ho Chi Minh had for the people, his deep affection for youth and children stands out. The guidance and writings he left for children are considered invaluable treasures for our nation and its future generations. These principles have shaped the country's approach to nurturing the younger generation.
Dear esteemed colleagues!
After a year of hard work, summer is a time for children to relax and enjoy their holidays. However, it is also a period where children are away from school and may lack supervision, which unfortunately can lead to tragic accidents, particularly drowning. To prevent such accidents, I urge all levels of society, including families, to take extra care in monitoring children, organizing engaging activities to keep them safe from danger, and ensuring their health is well-maintained during the summer.
With the joint effort of all sectors and society, I am confident that the children of Song Hinh will have a joyful Children's Day and a happy summer. Finally, I wish all leaders, delegates, parents, and children abundant health and continued happiness.
With deep appreciation!

3. A Student's Speech on the Occasion of June 1st
Dear esteemed guests, teachers, and dear friends,
Each year, as June 1st approaches, we joyfully celebrate this important day, a day where love and affection for children and youth are expressed by all. This year, we are especially honored to welcome representatives from the local government and community, as well as over 100 students from schools around the district, all here to celebrate International Children's Day together.
On behalf of my peers, I sincerely thank the local leaders for their time and effort in organizing this wonderful event for us, filled with joy, gifts, and affection.
As we gather today, let us remember the tragic events faced by the children of the villages of Lidice and Oradour-sur-Glane, who were brutally slaughtered by Nazi forces.
We are immensely grateful for the leadership of our Party and President Ho Chi Minh, who have blessed us with the opportunities we have today: food, clothing, and the chance to attend school. We will always cherish the support from our teachers and leaders, and we pledge to work hard to become good students, loyal citizens, and worthy descendants of President Ho Chi Minh.
Finally, I wish good health to all the distinguished guests and teachers, and hope everyone enjoys a joyful and meaningful summer holiday.
With sincere respect,
