Next, we will revisit the history of International Children's Day:
In the early hours of June 1, 1942, Nazi forces surrounded the village of Lidice in Czechoslovakia. They arrested 173 men, 196 women, and children. In a brutal massacre, 66 people were killed, and 104 children were sent to concentration camps. 88 of them perished in gas chambers, and 9 others were forced to work for the Nazis. Lidice was wiped off the map. Two years later, on June 10, 1944, Nazi forces again attacked the French village of Oradour-sur-Glane, rounding up 400 people, including many women and over 100 children, and burning them alive in a church.
Outraged by these horrific atrocities, the international community condemned the Nazis and fought to eliminate fascism. After the Nazis were defeated, Czechoslovakia rebuilt Lidice and erected a memorial to remind the world of these crimes. In December 1949, the Afro-Asian Women's Union in Beijing proposed, and the World Democratic Women's Federation accepted, that June 1st be designated as International Children's Day. This was to honor the memory of the massacres in Lidice and Oradour and to advocate for the protection and care of children worldwide. Since then, women and youth organizations around the world have used this day to stand against the forces of war and to fight for the happiness of mothers and children.
In our own country, after the victory in the resistance against French colonialism, June 1st became a yearly occasion, a celebration of nurturing and supporting the young generation of our homeland. The government has passed legislation to ensure the care and protection of children, recognizing this responsibility as a noble duty for all of society.
To express our concern for the younger generation, I now invite Mr./Ms. Duong Duc Phuong, representative of the Summer Activities Committee, to give a speech and present gifts to the children. Let's give them a warm round of applause! (After the gift presentation, the speaker will continue) Thank you, Mr./Ms. Phuong, and I wish you and your family health and happiness, and I hope you continue to support the activities of Xom 12.
Next, we are honored to invite Mrs./Ms. (Name) to give a speech and offer words of guidance (and present gifts if applicable).

The summer season is here, with the first blossoms of the phoenix flowers beginning to bloom, and the purple pride of the Lagerstroemia trees showing their colors. After a year of hard work and achievements, the children are eagerly anticipating a summer filled with rest, play, and the celebration of International Children's Day on June 1st.
Today, as we gather on this warm summer day, with the sound of cicadas buzzing in the background and the phoenix flowers glowing in the sun, we are here thanks to the approval of the school's union... to celebrate the children and show our care for the younger generation, who are the future of our nation, the future leaders of the world, and the driving force for societal progress.

4. Program script for International Children's Day 1/6 (version 3)
Honorable guests, respected parents, and dear children,
As the red phoenix flowers bloom across the schoolyard, the summer season quietly arrives. Amid the joyful hustle of the nation celebrating International Children's Day 1/6, this occasion marks the beginning of a healthy, fun, and enriching summer for the children. It is also a time for us adults to reflect on our responsibilities to protect, care for, and provide education for children, the future generation of our families, country, and the world. Today, our company is hosting an International Children's Day celebration for the children.
We are honored to have with us today Mr./Ms. ...., the director of our company...
Along with all the parents and staff of our company... and the children who have gathered here today.
Let us warmly welcome them!
Dear guests and children,
From 1934 to 1945, Nazi leader Hitler committed horrific atrocities, including many bloody massacres that targeted women and children.
In February 1949, the International Democratic Women's Federation held a meeting in Moscow and chose June 1 as International Children's Day. This decision was fully supported by various international democratic organizations, and since then, June 1 has become a global celebration for children.
In our country, after the success of the August Revolution, June 1 became a day dedicated to nurturing and protecting the younger generation for the homeland. Our government passed laws to protect children's rights and widely promoted the idea that this responsibility belongs to all citizens.
On behalf of our company leadership, I would like to invite Mr./Ms. .... to share some words and present gifts to the children. Please welcome Mr./Ms. ...
Next, we invite the child representative to come up and express gratitude to our company leadership, the parents, and to the younger generation, the future of the nation. Please welcome the child.
Now, we invite all the esteemed guests and children to enjoy a special musical performance from our talented young musicians...
- It can be said that the song “Who Loves Uncle Ho More Than The Youth?” is a notable piece about the theme “Uncle Ho and Childhood.” Composed by musician Phong Nha in late 1945, this short song, consisting of only 10 lines, including 4 repetitive verses, is enough to depict the deep love of Vietnamese children for Uncle Ho. Today, this beloved song will be sung by a children's choir... Let’s give them a big round of applause.
- The song “Going to School” is considered one of the most iconic works about childhood. In 1976, it was arranged by composer Bui Dinh Thao, based on a poem by the late poet Hoang Minh Chinh. The song captures the joy of children on their first day of school. This song will be one of the highlights of today’s performance, especially with the pure, innocent voice of young...
- “First Day of School” is another song about children going to school. Unlike “Going to School,” this one expresses feelings of nervousness, apprehension, and homesickness, mixed with excitement—a common experience for children on their first school day. Composed by Nguyen Ngoc Thien in the early 1990s, this piece is based on a poem by the poet Vien Phuong. In today’s performance, the song will surely leave a lasting impression on both children and their parents, especially with the voice of... Let’s give them a round of applause.
Honorable guests, dear children,
As we meet with the children today, the distinguished guests, and the parents, we cannot fully express our emotions, but we all hope that these young generations will continue to strive, work hard, and develop good qualities for a bright future, becoming useful members of society.
