1. Step 4: Restore Zalo messages
For messages that have been backed up on the Zalo server, you can restore them in case of accidental loss. In the 'Backup & Restore' section, select 'Restore Messages' and tap 'Continue' to let Zalo restart and apply the necessary updates.

2. Step 1: Update and access the Zalo app on Android
Go to Google Play or App Store and update Zalo to the latest version. Once the update is complete, open the app and log in to Zalo on your phone. After logging in, tap on the More option (the three dots), then navigate to the Settings section (the gear icon).

3. Step 2: Go to the Messages & Notifications section
After accessing the Settings section, go to Messages & Notifications > Backup & Restore. Previously, in order to back up and restore deleted messages or messages lost due to phone damage, you would need third-party data recovery software, outside of the Zalo app. This could lead to significant security risks for your Zalo account.

4. Step 3: Back up messages and enable automatic message backup
In the new screen that opens, focus on the Backup and Restore Zalo messages sections. If you haven’t enabled the automatic message backup feature yet, select Backup to upload all existing Zalo messages to Zalo’s servers. To save time, it’s recommended to activate automatic backup (once enabled, the status on the right will read "On" in green), and choose the backup frequency, whether daily, weekly, or monthly.
