1. Face and Head Massage for Your Baby
Face and head massage can be challenging since newborns tend to move a lot, but it's just as important as massaging other areas of the body. Start by placing your index finger in the middle of your baby's forehead and gently glide along the contours of their face towards the chin. From the chin, move your fingers to the cheeks and massage in circular motions. Repeat these movements a few times.
Don’t forget the earlobes, as they contain nerve endings—use your thumb and index finger to massage them. You can even gently massage your baby's forehead by moving your fingers outward from the center of the forehead.

2. Chest and Shoulder Massage for Your Baby
Gently stroke from both the left and right shoulders towards your baby’s chest. After that, you can return your hands to the shoulders and repeat the motion softly. Next, place both hands in the center of the baby’s chest and massage outward from the body towards the sides.
Make sure to gently massage outward from beneath the breastbone, across the chest, following the shape of a heart. This type of massage will make your baby feel warm and comfortable, and will convey your loving care to them.

3. Tummy Massage for Your Baby
A tummy massage helps regulate the digestive system and can relieve constipation. The best time to perform this massage is about an hour after your baby has eaten.
Follow the shape of the letters “I LOVE U” when massaging: Start with the letter 'I' on the left side of your baby’s abdomen. Then, trace the reverse 'L', moving along the ribs from right to left, and down. For the reverse 'U', move from the lower right of the baby’s belly, up around the navel, and down on the left. Medical experts have noted that this technique is highly effective in easing tummy pain and improving digestion.
Note: Avoid tummy massage if the umbilical cord has not fully healed.

4. Hand and Foot Massage for Your Baby
Wrap your left fingers around your baby’s arm and gently massage from the front of the armpit down to the wrist. Repeat this motion in both directions a few times on both arms. Hold both of your baby’s arms and move your right hand from left to right, and vice versa. It will feel as though your baby is giving themselves a hug. You can also gently make circular motions in the air with both arms, moving in both directions.
Next, start massaging your baby’s legs softly. Rub some oil in your palms, then gently stroke from the thigh to the ankle, as if you’re pulling down a window blind. Afterward, form a circle around the baby’s thigh with both hands and gently rotate them from the thigh down to the ankle to massage the entire leg. Switch to the other leg and repeat the process.
From observation, after a hand and foot massage, babies tend to sleep soundly, waking up calm and content. Babies who typically have restless sleep will experience deeper, more peaceful rest after the massage.

5. Back Massage for Your Baby
This massage helps strengthen your baby’s spine. Lay your baby face down with their arms in front of them, not at their sides. Then, place the tips of your fingers on your baby’s upper back and gently make clockwise circular motions while gradually moving down towards the buttocks. Next, place your index and middle fingers on either side of the spine and gently move your fingers toward the baby’s bottom. Repeat these motions a few times.
Note: Avoid placing your fingers directly on the spine. Instead, position your fingers on either side of the spinal groove and gently work them down.
