Yen Bai Traditional Medicine Hospital was established under Decision No. 105/QĐ-UB dated December 11, 1989 by the People's Committee of Hoang Lien Son Province, originally named the Ethnic Medicine Hospital. It was built on the existing infrastructure of the old treatment facility of Yen Bai Provincial Hospital, with 50 beds, directly under the management of the Hoang Lien Son Provincial Department of Health.

Bệnh viện Nội tiết tỉnh Yên Bái được hình thành sau 35 năm xây dựng và trưởng thành. Bệnh viện Nội tiết tỉnh Yên Bái tiền thân là Trạm chống Bướu cổ Hoàng Liên Sơn, sau khi tỉnh được chia tách hình thành tỉnh Yên Bái, Trạm chống Bướu cổ Hoàng Liên Sơn được đổi tên thành Trung tâm Nội tiết Yên Bái.

Bệnh viện Nội tiết tỉnh Yên Bái là bệnh viện chuyên khoa tuyến tỉnh, có chức năng tham mưu cho giám đốc Sở Y tế về công tác phòng, chống và điều trị các bệnh liên quan đến rối loạn nội tiết và chuyển hoá trên địa bàn tỉnh; Là đơn vị sự nghiệp công lập có thu, chịu sự chỉ đạo toàn diện của Sở Y tế Yên Bái đồng thời chịu sự chỉ đạo, hướng dẫn, kiểm tra về chuyên môn, nghiệp vụ của Bệnh viện Nội tiết Trung ương trực thuộc Bộ Y tế.

Nhằm nâng cao chất lượng khám chữa bệnh cho người dân phía Tây tỉnh Yên Bái, Công ty Trường Đức xây dựng Bệnh viện Đa khoa chất lượng cao Trường Đức tại Thị xã Nghĩa Lộ. Đây là bệnh viện tư nhân đầu tiên ở Yên Bái vừa được Bộ Y tế phê duyệt tại Quyết định số 5299/QĐ-BYT ngày 21/12/2020, với quy mô 150 giường bệnh, được thực hiện 7.646 kỹ thuật chuyên môn theo quy định tại Thông tư 43/2013/TT- BYT và Thông tư 21/2017/TT-BYT.

Theo quyết định của Bộ Y tế, Bệnh viện Đa khoa Trường Đức được phân tuyến chuyên môn kỹ thuật là tuyến III và xếp hạng tương đương với bệnh viện hạng III để ký hợp đồng khám bệnh, chữa bệnh bảo hiểm y tế. Đồng thời Bộ Y tế cấp Giấy phép hoạt động khám chữa bệnh số 295/BYT- GPHĐ ngày 21/12/2020 cho Bệnh viện đa khoa Trường Đức do thứ trưởng Nguyễn Trường Sơn ký.
