Tam Duong Middle School was established on July 13, 1993, originally named Tam Dao Specialized Secondary School, located in the Son Hill area of Thanh Van commune, Tam Dao district, Vinh Phu province (now Dong Tam ward, Vinh Yen city, Vinh Phuc province).

Vinh Tuong Middle School originated from the Mathematics Specialized Section of Vu Di Secondary School, established on November 7, 1975, with 20 talented students selected from secondary schools across the district. In 1987, the specialized Math section was transformed into the Vinh Lac Secondary School for Math and Literature, with six classes and 170 students. In the 1988-1989 school year, the Vinh Phu Province (now Vinh Phuc) People's Committee expanded the school to include a high school section, renaming it Vinh Lac Secondary and High School for Math and Literature. In June 1997, following the re-establishment of Vinh Phuc province, the middle school section separated and became Vinh Tuong Middle School, maintaining this name to the present day.
