1. Self-Taught at Home, No Extra Classes
Despite having vast knowledge across various fields, many believe that Nhật Minh must spend a lot of time studying. However, after school hours, he typically dedicates just over an hour each day to his studies. Most of his assignments are completed during class, and during his free time, he enjoys listening to music, reading science books, and browsing the internet for more social knowledge. Notably, he even read the entire 11th-grade curriculum while still in 9th grade.
3. Could Read Before Turning 2 Years Old
According to his teacher Nguyễn Thị Gái and his mother, Nhật Minh was able to recognize numbers at just 6 months old. By 18 months, he could read words on TV and fairy tales, and he was already solving math problems quickly once he started preschool. These early signs of his exceptional abilities likely marked the beginning of his future brilliance.
4. His Talent Was Evident from a Very Young Age
From a very young age, Nhật Minh displayed remarkable abilities and unique interests compared to other children his age. He enjoyed watching quiz-style entertainment programs like 'Chiếc nón kỳ diệu'... He also had an extraordinary memory, able to recall phone numbers after hearing them just once. Additionally, he could repeat numbers in English from 1 to 100 after hearing them only once.
5. Rejected an Invitation to Attend a Specialized School because He Didn’t Want to Only ‘Study, Study, and Study’
Before entering 10th grade, Nhật Minh received invitations from several prestigious specialized schools. However, he declined and chose to attend Hải Lăng High School, a local school near his home. He explained that he didn’t want the pressure of a specialized school and believed that education should be balanced with fun and relaxation. He felt that only then could learning truly be effective.
