After completing your hike, you're probably feeling quite hungry! Here, you can enjoy hot pot and grilled goat meat, a specialty of the Gia Lao mountain region. The dishes are priced around 100,000 VND per hearty portion.
Before heading home, don’t forget to buy dried bananas, another local delicacy of Chua Chan Mountain. If you're in the mood, you can also visit the shops along the trail, where unique mountain products like embroidered textiles and bracelets are sold at affordable prices.


3. Modern Cable Car System
Good news for those of you who want to enjoy the majestic views of the mountains and valleys but prefer a more relaxed experience, leaving behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life. For those who don't want to climb long, winding steps, here’s some great information: on January 24, 2016, the Chua Chan Mountain cable car system, named with much affection, officially opened. The cable car system is provided, installed, and constructed by Doppelmayr (Australia), ensuring safety for all visitors.
Now, you're probably wondering about the ticket prices: here’s the scoop – round-trip tickets for adults cost 160,000 VND per person, while children (between 0.9m and 1.2m) pay 90,000 VND. Children under 0.9m can ride for free, and those taller than 1.2m are charged as adults.
So, what will you experience on the cable car?
- You won’t need to spend one to two hours conquering the steep steps.
- While traveling on the cable car, you’ll get a complete view of the mountain scenery and enjoy the peaceful beauty of nature, all while taking in a bird’s-eye view of the city. And best of all, you won’t feel drained from the physical exertion of climbing, allowing you to fully appreciate the wonderful experience the trip offers.

4. Military Camp on Chua Chan Mountain
Isn't it interesting? At the peak of Chua Chan Mountain, there's a military camp! For trekkers who might encounter obstacles, get lost, or become thirsty, don't hesitate to ask for help. While you're there, you can also visit the camp to get a glimpse of the self-sustaining lifestyle of the soldiers!
If you're genuinely interested in visiting the military camp, make sure to take the forest trail. If you follow the main entrance to Chua Chan Mountain, you won’t find the camp (since military camps are typically located far from civilian areas, right?).

5. Visit the Three-Root Banyan Tree - Buu Quang Pagoda, a Sacred Place
Have you heard? The Three-Root Banyan Tree on Chua Chan Mountain is considered sacred, believed to heal illnesses and bring good luck. Not only does it have a unique shape—three roots and one trunk—but it is also surrounded by many mysterious legends. Would you like to visit and hear the stories about this tree? Or maybe you're simply hoping to visit and pray for peace and safety for your family. There's a saying, "Offerings bring blessings, respecting traditions brings fortune."
Don't forget to also visit Buu Quang Pagoda, which is located right within the "heart of the mountain." The architecture of the pagoda reflects the simplicity and elegance of ancient times, yet it leaves a lasting impression with its mystical aura. Interestingly, Buu Quang Pagoda does not accept offerings, which is a distinctive feature, isn't it?
