1. Homemade Shrimp Salt Mango Shake
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe yellow mangoes
- 1 cup fish sauce
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 bowl of ice water
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 200 grams shrimp salt
- 50 grams mild chili peppers
- 10 grams garlic (peeled)
- 50 grams dried shrimp (shelled)
- 1 packet of seasoning salt (or shrimp seasoning powder)
- Step 1: Peel the mangoes and cut them into pieces about the size of two fingers. Soak them in ice water for 1 hour.
- Step 2: Mix the sugar, fish sauce, and water in a saucepan. Heat the mixture until it just starts to simmer, then remove from heat and add chili powder. Let it cool down.
- Step 3: Prepare the shrimp salt... Soak the dried shrimp for 10 minutes, wash and cut the mild chili peppers into 3 or 4 pieces to make blending easier. Clean the garlic and blend all ingredients—chili peppers, garlic, shrimp, and dried chili powder—together until smooth. Pour the mixture into a thick-bottomed pot, stirring over low heat with a wooden spoon to avoid burning the salt and sticking to the pot. Once the salt is dry, light, and doesn't stick to your hands, remove it from heat and let it cool in a bowl.
- Step 4: Remove the mangoes from the ice water and let them drain. Place them in a large bowl and pour the cooled fish sauce mixture over them, letting it soak for about 1 hour or more.
- Step 5: Once the mangoes and salt are well-marinated and the salt has cooled, transfer them into a plastic container with a lid. Add 1 tablespoon of shrimp salt and shake well.

- 3-4 Mangoes
- Sugar
- Fish Sauce
- Chili Salt (preferably from Tây Ninh)
- Fresh Chopped Chili (optional for those who like spicy)
Instructions:
- Step 1: Wash the mangoes, peel them, and cut into either long pieces or square chunks, depending on your preference.

- Step 3: Prepare the chili salt mixture by combining 3 parts sugar and 1 part fish sauce in a pan. Heat the mixture while stirring until it starts boiling, then let it cool.
- Step 4: Place the mango pieces into a jar, add the cooled fish sauce-sugar mixture, a pinch of chili salt, and chopped fresh chili if you like it spicy. Seal the jar and shake it for 3-5 minutes until the mango is evenly coated with the seasoning. Your mango shake is ready!

4. Mango Shake with Shrimp Salt
Ingredients:
- 600g of Mango (around 2-3 pieces)
- Mix 1 (for marinating the mango):
- 3 tablespoons of water
- 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 1.5 tablespoons of white sugar
- ½ teaspoon of chili powder
- Mix 2 (for shaking the mango):
- ½ teaspoon of chili powder
- 2 teaspoons of shrimp salt
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of white sugar or yellow sugar
Instructions:
- Step 1: Prepare the mango. Wash and peel the mangoes, then cut them into bite-sized pieces. Soak the mango pieces in ice-cold water for 1 hour.
- Step 2: Prepare the marinating liquid. Mix all ingredients from Mix 1 and heat them on the stove until boiling. Allow the mixture to cool and let the fish sauce aroma evaporate.
- Step 3: Marinate the mango. After draining the mango from the ice water, add it to the marinating liquid. Toss the mango thoroughly in the mixture, letting it soak for 1 to 1.5 hours.
- Step 4: Prepare the seasoning mix. Combine all ingredients from Mix 2. If you like it spicy, feel free to add more chili powder.
- Step 5: Place the mango into a plastic jar with a lid (fill about half the jar to leave space for shaking). Add the seasoning mix, seal the lid, and shake well for about 30 seconds. And that's it, you've made a delicious Mango Shake with Shrimp Salt!

5. Mango with Dried Beef
Ingredients:
- 1 kg Green Mango
- 100g Dried Shrimp (or dried baby shrimp)
- 50g Shredded Pork
- 50g Dried Beef
- 2 tablespoons of Shrimp Salt
- 10g Chili Powder
- 1 tablespoon of Fish Sauce
- 3 tablespoons of Sugar
- ¼ teaspoon of MSG
- ½ teaspoon of Chopped Chili
- Clean containers for shaking the mango
- 4 Plastic cups
Instructions:
- Step 1: Make the fish sauce mixture: Combine 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 3 tablespoons of sugar, ¼ teaspoon of MSG, and ½ teaspoon of chopped chili. Boil the mixture, then remove from heat and let it cool.
- Step 2: While the fish sauce mixture is cooling, peel the mangoes, rinse them with diluted salt water to remove sap, then cut them into bite-sized pieces (thick or thin, long or square, according to your preference). For extra crunch, refrigerate the mango pieces.
- Step 3: In a container, combine the mango, 2 tablespoons of shrimp salt, the cooled fish sauce mixture, and 50g of dried shrimp. Shake well until all ingredients are mixed thoroughly.
- Step 4: Transfer the mango mixture into the plastic cups, filling them to the rim. Top with dried shrimp, shredded pork, and dried beef. For the best experience, enjoy it from the top down to prevent the toppings from getting soggy from the fish sauce.

6. Spicy Salted Mango Shake
Ingredients:
- Mango: 600g
- Sugar: 60g
- Spicy Salt: 15g
- Fish Sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Lime: 3 pieces
- Fresh Chili: 2-3 pieces
- Step 1: Prepare the mangoes. Wash them thoroughly. You can peel the skin or leave it on, but peeling helps the flavors soak in faster. Cut the mango into thick slices (around 5-7cm). Don't cut them too thin, or the mango will lose its crunch.
- Step 2: Prepare the seasoning mix. In a bowl, combine sugar and fish sauce, and cook until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens. Let it cool.
- Step 3: Combine the seasoning mix. Add the spicy salt to the mango slices and toss them well. Then pour the cooled fish sauce mixture over and toss again. Chop the fresh chilies and squeeze the lime juice into the mix. Toss everything together. If you enjoy extra heat, add some chili powder for an even more vibrant color!
- Step 4: Shake the mangoes with the seasoning mix for a few minutes. Let the mixture sit for 2-3 hours before serving. If you want to store it for longer, you can seal it and keep it in the fridge. The mango pieces will be infused with a perfect balance of sweetness, sourness, and a spicy kick. Just imagining the taste is mouthwatering!
