1. Using Mulberry Leaves
The mulberry tree, scientifically known as Morus alba and belonging to the Moraceae family, originates from East Asia. It is also called by other names such as tang tree, may mon, or cang mulberry. Research has shown that using mulberry leaves to treat excessive sweating is very effective.
In traditional medicine, mulberry is considered a valuable herb with a sweet-bitter taste and a cool nature, impacting the liver, lungs, and kidneys. The remarkable thing is that all parts of the mulberry tree can be used as medicine to treat conditions like excessive sweating and bedwetting in children, joint pain, coughs, phlegm, and to nourish the liver and kidneys.
There are several ways to use mulberry leaves to treat excessive sweating in children. The simplest method is to boil the leaves in water and have the child drink it continuously for 5-7 days. Another effective way is to use the leaves as a pillow. After cleaning and drying the mulberry leaves, placing them in a pillow can help the child sleep well and prevent excessive sweating. You can also make a daily bath water or cook nutritious dishes using mulberry leaves, such as mulberry leaf meat soup, mulberry leaf chicken feet stew, or mulberry leaf porridge.


2. Using Pennywort
Excessive sweating in children is a common condition that, although not directly affecting their health, can disrupt their daily activities. Pennywort is known for its cooling properties, along with its sour and distinctive taste. It helps detoxify the body, reduce swelling and inflammation, treat boils, and effectively manage excessive sweating.
You can use about 50g of pennywort leaves along with 100g of mung beans. Boil the mixture for about 30 minutes, then add rock sugar to make it more palatable. Give this drink to your child every morning and monitor the results on their body.


3. Water Spinach
Water spinach, scientifically known as Sauropus androgynus, is grown in tropical regions of Asia and Central America for consumption. In traditional medicine, water spinach is a common food with the benefits of cooling, detoxifying, diuretic properties, and blood nourishment. It is highly effective in treating conditions like boils, excessive sweating, and measles in children.
To use water spinach for your child’s bath, start by washing the leaves and letting them dry. Then, grind the leaves into a paste, filter the juice, and boil the juice. Allow it to cool before either giving it directly to your child or mixing it into their food.


4. Using Pepper Leaves
In traditional medicine, pepper leaves are known for their warming properties, strong taste, and slight spiciness. They help warm the stomach, expel cold, regulate qi flow, and relieve pain. You can grind the leaves to extract the juice for your child to drink, or let them inhale the steam by using the leaves for a steam bath. Alternatively, you can prepare a delicious and nutritious pepper leaf porridge for your child. Results can be seen after consistent use.


5. Use Black Bean Water
Black beans have a sweet taste and are known for their ability to nourish the kidneys and blood. They also help detoxify, relieve heat, and combat wind heat, making them useful for individuals dealing with excessive sweating at night. Packed with fiber, protein, antioxidants, vitamin A, beta carotene, and more, black beans are trusted as a nutritional supplement and help reduce the occurrence of nighttime sweating in children.
Simply roast the black beans and boil them with longan and jujube. After boiling, divide the water into several portions for the child to drink throughout the day. Try this method for about three days and notice the changes.


6. Use Vietnamese Ginseng Leaf Water
Vietnamese ginseng leaves are a well-known medicinal herb in traditional Eastern medicine, known for their ability to invigorate blood circulation, nourish the kidneys, cool the body, and treat skin conditions like acne and hives. Particularly for children experiencing prolonged sweating, Vietnamese ginseng leaves can help restore the body effectively.
The Alkaloid compounds in the leaves offer protective properties, reducing the risk of fungal infections and skin itching. This helps prevent skin inflammation and fungal rashes caused by excessive sweating in children with night sweats. The leaves are rich in essential nutrients like lysine, methionine, glucosides, vitamin C, and vitamin B1. Their cooling properties help improve blood circulation and detoxify the body.
To use, boil the Vietnamese ginseng leaves with water, then use the resulting water to bathe your child, helping to fight bacteria and reduce fungal infections.
