Today, it's easy to observe the rush and haste in people's lifestyles. Young people, in particular, are constantly seeking a rhythm that suits them: 'Should we live fast or slow?' Living fast refers to an active lifestyle, staying ahead of the ongoing societal changes, and embracing new experiences. In contrast, living slowly is about taking time for the soul, listening to oneself, and appreciating the surroundings. It’s not about choosing one or the other; finding a balance between both is essential for a fulfilling and happy life. Modern life demands that we work hard and adapt quickly to keep up with technological advancements and global integration. Living fast helps us feel connected to the world and motivates us to take on new challenges, freeing us from stagnant ways of thinking. However, the pressure to constantly move forward can lead to neglecting personal time and strain on both the mind and body. This is why taking moments to live slowly is also necessary.
We can choose to take quiet moments to reflect and observe the world around us. In those moments, we realize how precious life is. Every journey has its sunny and rainy days. The speed of life doesn't matter as much as fully embracing each moment as it comes!

Life doesn't wait for anyone, which is why we must strive and give our best in the lives we have chosen, while also appreciating every moment and beauty life offers. Time is something we can never get back once it's passed, and it doesn’t wait for anyone’s delay. We should live with passion, work hard, and contribute to the advancement of society and the improvement of our own lives. However, we only get one life, so it's important to savor the joy and beauty life brings, live at a slower pace, and love more. The ideas of living fast and slow may seem opposing, but they complement each other, enhancing the meaning: We should work hard and live well to be valuable to society, while also balancing our time and enjoying life’s pleasures. Knowing when to live fast and when to live slowly is key. As society evolves, we must continue working hard to improve our lives. To achieve this, we must be diligent and not depend on others. However, after long hours of hard work, it's essential to take time for ourselves, pursue our passions, and enjoy life. Imagine how dull life would be if we only worked like machines, never experiencing joy or sadness? It would be disastrous if we only focused on personal pleasures without contributing to society.
Every perspective holds its truth, but the most fulfilling life comes from combining both viewpoints, allowing them to complement each other. Together, they help us understand the core values of life and how to balance our contributions and joys for the best possible life.

Every moment we live is unique and will never repeat again. So, what do we think about and plan for when we wake up each day? Do we simply wonder why we did something foolish yesterday and what the future might bring? Or should we ask ourselves how we can make the most of today and this moment? To live a complete, meaningful, and joyful day is an active and positive approach in our modern society. Living in the present is a method that encourages us to be proactive and not waste time waiting for something to happen. We often find it easy to exist, but truly living with purpose is a difficult task. A life that embraces the present does not rely on waiting. It involves living with intent, not being passive or stuck, and not letting time slip away in regret. To build a dynamic and vibrant lifestyle, we must learn not to depend on others, to eliminate the hope for a miracle or unexpected luck. People often rely on signs and fate, believing that the lines on their palms or destiny are preordained, but in reality, we hold two-thirds of our fate in our own hands. It’s important to give our best efforts in life and accept that luck comes to those who are truly prepared. As the Latin proverb says: 'He who wants to go, fate will lead him. He who does not want to go, fate will drag him.' This mindset reflects the importance of living fully in the moment, not dwelling on the past or fantasizing about the future. By focusing on what we can do now, we shape our past, present, and future. Embrace the present, eliminate distractions, and work towards your goals. The past is a lesson, the present is a gift, and the future is a possibility that we can influence. This approach will help you appreciate every moment of life, making each day full of success and joy. If we understand that time is limited, we will avoid procrastination and make the most of every opportunity to add joy to our lives. 'Living is not waiting,' it’s about not letting regretful phrases like 'If only' dictate our lives.

A popular African proverb says
“Every morning, the antelope must run faster than the fastest one, or it will starve
Every morning, the antelope must run faster than the slowest tiger, or it will be eaten”
Life is like a race, full of challenges and obstacles. To win, one must constantly strive, manage time wisely, and seize opportunities, because life doesn't wait.
Waiting means doing nothing, sitting idle and waiting for the right moment to act. But the world keeps evolving, life is always in motion, and waiting isn’t always ideal. As our ancestors often said:
“You only gain if you work for it
No one gives you anything for free”
Success comes only through hard work, and one can only find happiness by actively searching for opportunities. If we just wait, will the opportunity come to us?
So why live without waiting? Life constantly offers opportunities that we can see if we look. These are shortcuts to success, but many are hesitant because they fear the risks. To feel safe, they keep waiting for the 'perfect' moment. But is it possible to recognize the right opportunity if they let it slip by? Life requires us to seize the moment. Imagine you're walking down a dark road, and at the end, you see two paths: one with sunlight and the other still dark. What will you do? The dark path represents a dull life, while the sunny one symbolizes opportunities that can transform your life. If you choose the dark path, can you find a similar opportunity again, or will you keep waiting and passing by many more chances?
Opportunities don’t always come to us; sometimes, we must seek them out. Some may think it's easier to wait rather than struggle through difficulties to find opportunities. This is a mistaken thought. Those who wait only see the pain of failure, unaware that difficulties are gifts from the universe. Behind these challenges lie opportunities, the shortest path to success. Those who don’t wait grow from hardship, becoming wiser and more decisive than those who live in expectation, for they've learned valuable lessons from adversity.
Living without waiting means mastering every second, every minute of life. There's an old saying: “Time is gold, time is silver” — a reminder that time is precious and must be treasured because every passing second cannot be reclaimed. It’s no coincidence that Xuân Diệu wrote:
“Why talk about spring’s return
If youth doesn’t bloom twice”
For he hurried to seize every moment and enjoy life to the fullest. Have you ever wondered if waiting wastes time? Instead of waiting for time to pass aimlessly, why not spend that time searching for opportunities and help from others, ensuring your time is well spent?
I once read a story that left me with valuable lessons. It was about a young girl who dreamed of becoming a comedian. Throughout her school years, she sought opportunities to join acting clubs, despite her family's objections. At 20, she was finally on stage and invited her parents to watch. However, the performance didn’t go as planned, and her parents were embarrassed. They advised her to pursue a different career. But determined to succeed, she believed opportunities would come. She joined another comedy troupe and worked tirelessly, never letting time slip away. Eventually, she became an entertainer. Then one day, she got the chance to perform with a famous comedian — the opportunity of a lifetime — and she seized it. Thanks to her acting skills and determination, she became a renowned actress. If she had just waited, would she have gotten to where she is today?
However, despite the many people working tirelessly to find and seize opportunities to reach their goals, many still choose to wait. They believe waiting is the safest and best way to success, not realizing that they are missing chances to move forward. Others may rely too much on others, becoming passive in the face of life’s changes. These are the lifestyles we should criticize and reject.
Each of us must learn to seize opportunities, waiting when necessary, to achieve our goals. As students, we must strive to learn and improve, take advantage of opportunities, and respect time, so that we can fulfill our dreams of becoming good citizens and contributing to society.
Living without waiting will be a valuable lesson, a guiding principle in my life, reminding me to always strive, to seize opportunities when they come, and to appreciate every moment on the way to success.
