Đặc biệt, trong xã hội ngày nay, tri thức thực sự ngày càng khẳng định được vai trò lớn của mình đối với đời sống con người. Tri thức là những hiểu biết về khoa học, văn học, lịch sử, đời sống xã hội mà con người chiếm lĩnh được. Là những hiểu biết của nhân loại được đúc kết quả hàng trăm thế kỷ phát triển từ thời xa xưa đến ngày nay. Trong cuộc sống tri thức giữ vai trò rất quan trọng, điển hình như trong lịch sử dân tộc đã có biết bao hào kiệt anh tài với tài ba thao lược, võ giỏi, văn hay, tri thức sâu rộng nhờ đó mà ta lực lượng yếu vẫn thắng địch giành lại độc lập cho dân.
