1. Host Script for November 20th Panel Discussion - Version 4
Honored guests, esteemed faculty, and staff members,
Our ancestors' wisdom has been captured in the saying, 'To achieve success, build a bridge like Kieu. To raise a wise child, honor the teacher.'
Honoring the teaching profession and respecting our educators is a noble tradition. To uphold this, the Vietnamese government declared November 20th as Teachers' Day to honor the tireless contributions of teachers in shaping future generations. Your presence here today is an honor for our school.
First, on behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to sincerely wish our distinguished guests good health.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to introduce our special guests attending today’s panel discussion:
1. Representatives from the school's parent association
2. Retired teachers and staff
3. All teachers, staff, and employees present here today.
Let us warmly welcome them!
Dear distinguished guests, faculty, and staff,
'Every year, when November 20th arrives, those who have dedicated themselves to teaching experience mixed emotions of nostalgia and pride for being part of the most esteemed profession. As we mark the xxth anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day, let us reflect on the fine traditions of Vietnamese educators and our school, acknowledging the pride and honor we feel as teachers in society. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence in the years to come.'
Dear honored guests, faculty, and staff!
Before 1982, November 20th was known as International Teachers' Charter Day in Vietnam. In 1957, the International Federation of Teachers’ Unions held a meeting in Warsaw, Poland, with 57 countries, including Vietnam’s teachers’ union, participating. The conference decided to establish November 20th as International Teachers' Charter Day annually. The first celebration of this day took place in Vietnam on November 20, 1958. However, due to the nature of the International Teachers' Charter, the observance of this day evolved significantly. Following the wishes of teachers and the public, on September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers (now the government) issued Decision No. 167/HĐBT, officially recognizing November 20th as Teachers' Day. For xx years, this day has become a cherished tradition for both the education sector and our people.
The government’s decision underscores the importance of education and the role of teachers in shaping future generations. It also offers a chance for teachers and administrators to reflect on their roles and reaffirm their commitment to education.
In Vietnam, teaching has always been a highly respected profession. The progress we have achieved is the result of generations of teachers who have shown passion and dedication. These teachers embody the following qualities:
The close connection between teachers and the community. Teachers have always been part of the community, earning the trust and affection of the people. In the past, teachers were supported by the community, sharing in both hardship and joy. Today, teachers—especially those in rural areas—are not just educators, but also local leaders and friends. The people hold teachers in high esteem and are deeply grateful for their contributions.
Next, I would like to invite [teacher's name] to provide any closing remarks. Please join me in welcoming [teacher's name]! We will also take this opportunity to recognize those who have excelled in their work.
With that, we conclude today’s November 20th panel discussion. Thank you all for your participation.
In the solemn atmosphere of this Teachers' Day celebration, marking the xxth anniversary (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 20xx), let us express our deepest gratitude to the teachers who have shaped, and continue to shape, the future of our society.
Dear esteemed guests, respected teachers, and beloved students,
As our celebration of Vietnam Teachers' Day draws to a close, the lessons and memories of this day will remain with us. Let us honor this day through concrete actions—by teaching and learning to the best of our abilities and achieving success in the spirit of Teachers' Day.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the distinguished guests who joined us today for the celebration of Vietnam Teachers' Day at [school name].
We wish all guests continued health, happiness, and success. On this occasion, I also wish our teachers good health, happiness, creativity, and continued success in their mission to nurture the next generation.
Lastly, we wish all students good health, diligence, and academic success.

To begin this ceremony, I would like to respectfully invite the distinguished guests, teachers, and all students to stand for the flag salute.
Now, I kindly request the distinguished guests, teachers, and all students to be seated.
2. Purpose Declaration - Guest Introduction:
Esteemed local government representatives!
Honorable teachers and parents!
The Vietnamese people have a long-standing tradition of respecting teachers, as teachers have played an essential role in shaping the Vietnamese soul throughout history. In ancient times, teachers were ranked just below kings and above parents in the social hierarchy: "Emperor - Teacher - Father." Many great teachers such as Chu Văn An, Lê Quý Đôn, Nguyễn Bỉnh Khiêm, Cao Bá Quát, Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, Tống Duy Tân, Lương Văn Can, Phan Bội Châu, as well as many leaders of the Communist Party and State, like Phan Đăng Lưu, Hà Huy Tập, Nguyễn Đức Cảnh, Trần Phú, Phạm Văn Đồng, Võ Nguyên Giáp, have made significant contributions. Notably, the teacher Nguyễn Tất Thành, who later became our beloved President Hồ Chí Minh, began his journey at the Dục Thanh School in Phan Thiết.
Under the new regime, teachers are honored as the "engineers of the soul," with teaching being "the noblest of professions, for it creates the most creative people." Generations of teachers have made remarkable contributions to the nation’s educational mission and have always been ready to sacrifice for the country’s independence and freedom. Therefore, on September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 167-HĐBT, designating November 20 as Vietnam Teachers' Day. This reflects the deep concern of the Party and State for education and training, and the recognition of the vital role of teachers in building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Among all the resources of the country, human resources are the most valuable, and teachers are the country's most cherished assets.
This year, as we celebrate the xxth anniversary of Vietnam Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 20xx), we are filled with pride for the position of teachers in our society. Thanks to the attention of the leadership at all levels, today, we proudly host this Teachers' Day forum at Định Tăng Primary School to celebrate the glorious traditions of our education sector.

5. Speech by a Young Teacher:
Dear distinguished guests!
Dear parents and teachers!
President Hồ Chí Minh once said:
"To benefit from ten years, plant a tree.
To benefit from a hundred years, educate a person."
Teachers are crucial figures in the noble mission of educating the next generation. It is teachers who guide students to the shores of knowledge. As the new school year begins, teachers experience both joy and deep contemplation. However, every year, on Teachers' Day, teachers feel immense pride and joy, as former students return with respect and gratitude. Teachers have devoted themselves to learning, improving their skills, and nurturing students with love and care. Students, in return, strive to learn and grow, which is why Vietnam Teachers' Day will forever be etched in the hearts of each generation of students and parents. We must transform the feelings of this day into concrete actions: striving to teach well, study diligently, and serve our community with dedication. Let us now hear the words of teacher .................................. Please join me in welcoming her.
We just listened to the heartfelt speech from teacher ................................, which reflects the emotions of all teachers in our school. On behalf of the organizing committee, I wish you good health, happiness, and success.
6. Cultural Performances
7. Speech by Senior Teacher:
Dear distinguished guests!
Dear parents and teachers!
Throughout history, there have been many definitions of a teacher:
A teacher is, first and foremost, an artist. Teachers do not use brushes to create images but instead paint beautiful pictures on the hearts of their students.
A teacher is also a composer, creating simple lessons that lead students into the vast world of knowledge.
A teacher is a historian, who can recall the names of each student even years later.
A teacher is a poet, crafting moving verses for each graduating class.
A teacher is a friend, someone students can confide in.
A teacher is an engineer, constructing dreams and aspirations for students.
A teacher is a farmer, patiently planting seeds and waiting for the harvest.
A teacher is a boatman, guiding students across the river of knowledge. Teachers ignite the flames of creativity, seek out hidden talents, and help students realize their full potential. Above all, teachers are like parents.
Teachers are not as flamboyant as artists, not as rigid as engineers, and not as tirelessly working as farmers. They are humble, dedicating countless hours to their students' development. Though teachers rarely express it, we all understand that they are truly magnificent beings.
Education is the nation’s most important policy. As our country fully integrates into the world, we are on the path to progress, demanding the intellectual and moral development of each individual. The mission of education is incredibly important, and the role of teachers is central to this mission. We proudly proclaim: without teachers, there would be no schools, and without schools, there would be no human civilization. Throughout history, no great hero or genius has succeeded without the guidance of a teacher. The glory of teachers lives on in the achievements of their students.

November has arrived, bringing with it the jubilant atmosphere of the entire nation as we honor Vietnam Teachers' Day, November 20th. It is a day when society expresses its profound respect and gratitude to the noble contributions of our teachers. Each of us recalls the fond memories of our school days, reflecting on our teachers with deep gratitude and admiration.
The Vietnamese people have always held the tradition of "respecting teachers and honoring their teachings," as teachers have played a crucial role in shaping the soul of the nation throughout history. In ancient times, teachers were highly esteemed, occupying a position just below the king and above parents. As the saying goes: "To become successful, one must respect their teachers," and "A teacher is the key to becoming a teacher." Even today, this tradition remains strong.
Because of these values, on September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers passed Decision 167/QĐ-HĐBT, declaring November 20th each year as "Vietnam Teachers' Day." Dear distinguished guests, respected teachers, and beloved students!
First of all, I would like to extend my warmest greetings and best wishes for good health to all distinguished guests and teachers!
As November arrives, the nation is filled with joy in celebration of Vietnam Teacher's Day, November 20th. It is a day to honor and show deep respect for the immense contributions of our educators, as we recall fond memories of our school days, our innocent hearts, and our sincere gratitude toward our beloved teachers.
The Vietnamese people have a long tradition of "Respecting Teachers, Honoring Knowledge", for teachers have shaped the soul of Vietnam through the ages, acting as a bridge between the past, present, and future of our nation. In ancient society, the teacher’s position was held in the highest regard. During the feudal era, teachers were placed just below the king but above parents in terms of respect.
There is a folk saying: "If you wish to prosper, build a bridge; if you wish to be wise, love your teacher." In the modern era, teachers are revered as "engineers of the soul", and teaching is regarded as "the most noble of all professions, for it creates creative individuals". Today, we have countless esteemed educators—people whose passion and intellect, regardless of the hardships, contribute tirelessly to the mission of cultivating the future generation. These teachers are highly valued and revered, as honoring teachers has become an intrinsic part of our culture and society.
Teachers are esteemed because they represent excellence. Not only do they possess wisdom, but they also carry the noble responsibility of passing that wisdom onto others, especially their students, helping them become educated individuals with strong character and the ability to contribute positively to society and the country. It is for these reasons that on September 28th, 1982, the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 167/QD-HDBT to designate November 20th each year as Vietnam Teacher's Day. This reflects the deep concern of the Party and the state for education and training, while also recognizing the important role teachers play in building and defending the nation. Therefore, every year as the date approaches, schools across the country celebrate with the movement of "Teaching Well, Learning Well" in honor of Vietnam Teacher’s Day.
Joining in the festive spirit of the national education sector, we are here today to celebrate xx years of Vietnam Teacher’s Day (20/11/1982 - 20/11/20xx). 1.2 Declaration of Purpose and Guest Introduction:
Dear distinguished guests, respected teachers, and beloved students!
First, I would like to extend my warm greetings and best wishes for health to our esteemed guests and teachers!
November arrives with the joyous atmosphere of the whole nation honoring Vietnam Teacher's Day, a day when society expresses deep respect and admiration for the invaluable contributions of teachers. We all share a cherished memory of our childhood and school days, where we hold our beloved teachers in great esteem and profound gratitude.
The Vietnamese people have long upheld the tradition of "Respecting Teachers, Honoring Knowledge," for teachers play an essential role in shaping the soul of the Vietnamese nation throughout history. In ancient times, the teacher's status was highly regarded, placed just below the king but above parents in the feudal value system.
There is a folk saying: "To become rich, build a bridge, to learn well, love your teacher." In the new era, teachers are honored as "engineers of the soul," and the teaching profession is considered "the noblest among noble professions, for it creates people who are innovative and creative." Today, we have countless outstanding teachers who dedicate their knowledge and hearts to the mission of "nurturing people." These teachers are deeply respected, and honoring them has become an inherent part of our culture and natural sentiment.
Teachers are so revered because they embody ideals of excellence. Not only do they uphold moral values, but they also have the noble mission of transmitting knowledge and wisdom to others, especially their students, helping them become educated individuals, with good character, and skills that benefit society and the nation. This is why on September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers issued Decision 167/QD-HDBT, designating November 20 as "Vietnam Teacher's Day." This decision reflects the Party and State's deep commitment to education and highlights the significant role of teachers in the nation's development and defense. Therefore, every year as we approach this day, the nationwide movement for "excellent teaching and learning" grows in anticipation of Vietnam Teacher's Day.
Joining in the celebratory spirit of the entire nation on the occasion of Vietnam Teacher's Day (20/11/1982 - 20/11/20xx), and in accordance with the school's annual plan and with the approval of the Party Committee and Department of Education and Training, today, November 20, 20xx, we gather at the school to solemnly celebrate the 34th anniversary of Vietnam Teacher's Day.
