3. Yellowing Toenails

4. Swelling of the Big Toe

A bunion, which is a bony bump forming at the base of the big toe, occurs when the bones in the front part of the foot are misaligned. This deformity causes the big toe joint to shift inward, pushing the toe toward the others.

Swollen and painful ankles indicate discomfort in the ankle joint. Swelling in this area can be a warning sign of kidney issues. The kidneys filter nutrients for the body, and if they malfunction, fluids may not be excreted properly, leading to edema. Swollen ankles are a clear indicator of this condition.

6. Slow-Healing Foot Wounds
Slow-healing wounds on the feet may signal diabetes. High blood sugar levels can damage nerves and weaken the immune system, delaying wound healing. Without timely medical attention, tissue necrosis could occur, potentially leading to amputation.

7. Persistent Cold Feet
If your feet remain cold even during summer, it could indicate an underactive thyroid. Normally, the thyroid regulates metabolism, so when it malfunctions, this process is disrupted, reducing the body's ability to generate heat.

8. Numbness in the Feet
If you experience numbness in your feet without prolonged sitting, standing, or tight footwear, it’s worth paying attention. Frequent numbness may suggest nerve damage in the feet, ankles, or back. Consult a doctor promptly if this occurs regularly.
