1. Don't study grammar
This is one of the most important principles when learning English.
Studying grammar will only confuse and slow you down. You will think about rules when forming sentences instead of speaking naturally like a native speaker. Many Vietnamese students know grammar better than native speakers, but they cannot speak naturally. In fact, studying grammar slows down your ability to listen and speak naturally. Do you want to be able to paraphrase the definition of a causative verb, or do you want to be able to speak English fluently?

2. Explore and study phrases
If you know 1000 words, you can make 1 correct sentence. But if you know 1 Phrase, you can make hundreds of correct sentences. If you know 100 Phrases, you will be surprised to know how many correct sentences you can say. Finally, when you know only 1000 Phrases, you will almost be a native English speaker.
Don't translate
When you want to create an English sentence, don't translate those words into your native language. The order of words may be completely different and you will be slow and wrong if you do that. Instead, learn Phrases and sentences so you don't have to think about words when you speak. It will flow automatically.
3. Reading and listening alone is not enough, you must practice
Reading, Listening, and Speaking are almost the most important aspects of all languages. That is input ''Input'' that also applies to English. However, if you only have Input, it is not enough. We are only in the mother's womb for 9 months 10 days, English is the same, when you have listened enough you have to speak, only Speaking is required to be proficient in English. It is very normal for young children to learn to speak first, become proficient later, and then start reading and writing. So the natural order is Listening, Speaking, Reading, and then Writing.
4. Use English daily
Being able to speak a language has nothing to do with how smart you are. Everyone can learn to speak any language. This has been proven by people all over the world. Everyone can speak at least 1 language. Whether you are smart or lacking a little gray matter, you can still speak 1 language.
Speak English everyday.
You don't have to go anywhere to become a good English speaker. You just need to immerse yourself in English. You can do this by agreeing with your friends that you will only speak English at certain times of the day. You can also carry an iPod and listen to English sentences immediately. as you can see, you can achieve success by changing the environment around you. Use English daily and you will learn much faster.

5. Study the right materials
An inaccurate phrase is: 'Practice makes perfect'. It's not really accurate. Practice only makes what you practice go deep into your subconscious and become permanent. If you practice a wrong sentence, you will always say it wrong. Therefore, studying the right English materials from the beginning is very important.
Another issue is that most English at school is 'Formal English'. However, in everyday life, they use 'Real English' which includes a lot of IDIOM and SLANG. So, to understand what native speakers say, you need to learn 'Real English'.
